Why all the love for Serana ?!

Post » Wed Nov 21, 2012 2:38 am

Hello Everybody !

I don't get it , why people love Serana so much ?
I understand that she's the most "alive" character in the game , but why all these marriage requests and all that love ?

Really , personally I'd like the ability to kill her more than the ability to marry her..

What do you think ?

I think the last thing we need is another thread about it. No offense intended.

I know but all the other threads are " Let us marry Serana " , " Why I can't marry Serana " , " Serana marriage "..
This one is something fresh at least.

Just asked my logic, it said "Not everybody has an identical copy of the OP's brain in their head, you know." Fair enough?

It's for that same reason you just stated: She's the most alive character in the game.
If all you saw was black and white, Serana is that splash of color.

While I wouldn't want to marry her, namely because marriage turns NPCs into lifeless dolls, I understand why people want to.

"Make love, not war." :nono:

I think people like Serana because she's the closest thing to a real friend the PC has. She's also interesting, has a personality, and generally feels like one of the best characters in the game. I personally wouldn't marry her because it would probably turn her into another generic spouse, but I see why other people would.

I think she has a good personality, writing and voice acting. But I refuse to have anything to do with her because she keeps resurrecting crappy monsters. Sorry, I can't be bothered with conjuration NPCs.

Well I know she's important for the quests.
But after all of this , I don't want to cure her , I want to get to the root of the problem.

I want to wear her head on my belt.. :P

The "problem" was essentially her megalomaniac father.

Spoiler
...and that problem has been solved.

See, compare him and her, and you'll see the basic differences between a "good" and a "bad" vampire.

A good Vampire is a dead Vampire.

Even my vampire hunter character refrains from staking Serana, so much that she... hangs out with her and takes her on adventures. A "good" vampire is like a "good" non-vampire, just paler, fanged, and with a thing for sleeping vertically. They may be vicious undead predators, but some still know how to keep their class.

I actually thought of a 'corrupted' end for my character as she had some contact with Molag Bal ( Markarth Ehm )..
She's now on her way to help the Dawnguard , maybe Molag Bal will see it as an opportunity :D

And she must have a child by then , someone to continue the Firefield clan for TES 6.

Because she is the only person to care about my character's feelings and emotions! She talks to me, she listens to me, she understands me! We have a powerful connection! A bond I tell you, a bond!

Why I like Serana:
  • She's is pureblooded vampire as my original characters(backround story)
  • She considers her vampirism a gift
  • She followed Molag Bal.
  • It is implied she dines on humans.

Why I dislike Serana:
  • Her personality svcks. She's not manipulative, she's not power-hungry, she whines about her father rather than plot to overthrow him and take his place(though she did kill him to save her kind from war and her own skin)
  • We never see her turn into a vampire lord, or feasting on mortals.
  • She is too friendly to the Dawnguard, who need to be wiped out because they can't accept being at the bottom of the food chain.

Why I dislike Serana:

- Everything

Why I like Serana:

- She's fun to shout off large, tall objects.

As far as it goes with the whole "She's got color in this game"? Um, no. She no more color than Queen Potema. Or Balgruuf. Just because Beths gave her a storyline doesnt make her "fleshed out". People only assume that because they tend to get attached to her, you know, with her spilling out her emo guts everywhere. "Wahhh, daddy's a monster!" Well, kid, you live in a world full of dragons, draugr, elves and magic. Expect a little parental abuse.

You forgot the most important reason! She is hot! And I don't know why you don't like her personality? She is a badass to everyone else, but the player, who she shows emotions too.
