Why all the love for Serana ?!

Post » Wed Nov 21, 2012 1:35 am

You forgot the most important reason! She is hot! And I don't know why you don't like her personality? She is a badass to everyone else, but the player, who she shows emotions too.
Oh yeah, I forgot about the hotness part :lol . . .

Well geez - I was hoping that if I got any response at all from that post, it would at least include a cursory "happy anniversary!"

Happy Anniversary Epona222, We would have Serana make you a sweet roll and a home cooked meal to celebrate but she does not have that option "yet"

I don't get it , why people love Serana so much ? I understand that she's the most "alive" character in the game , but why all these marriage requests and all that love ?

Really , personally I'd like the ability to kill her more than the ability to marry her..

I ask myself the same question all the time.

I would as well.

I would fall in love with Serana if she was like http://fc04.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2012/225/e/1/serana_by_alecyl-d5azgt2.jpg in the game.

Yeah she's no bloodthirsty vamp. Unlike her father.

Where do you find these various pictures of Serana? They look awesome!

Ontopic: I figure that Serana is like that when your PC is not looking I mean to me it seemed like she wanted to butcher the moth priest if he was wrong. Since she did say she was going to have "words" with him if he is wrong about how to read the elder scroll.

edit:I think serana is only nice/hang outs with you since your the first person she drank blood from I mean she was stuck in that box for thousands of years and no matter how mean you are to her she still hangs around with you.

I mean when you first get out of the box she is rather excited that a war of succession is going on and that she is glad the world did not get "Boring" while she was sleeping. Heck she was pretty mad at Vyrthur and wanted to kill him.

Which in my opinion, is wrong. There is a difference between being a naturally blood-thirsty vampire who feeds and a man with fanatical and extremist ideals. Serana is suppose to be blood-thirsty like her father, but not a fanatical extremist willing to blot out the sun for all vampires.

Thanks!

But why would she do it when the PC isn't looking? I know she implied that with the Moth Priest and also threatening Isran by saying "I'll remember that next time I'm feeling hungry."

But we don't see it happen :(.

At least it is implied, be grateful Bethesda didn't make her like one of the vampires that complains about being a vampire, and how it is just horrible.

It's cause she likes you!

I was talking with my brother about this and he said personally he feels like serana wants to eat him/turn him into a vampire. I was exploring the conversation options and when I asked were you always a vampire I instead chose give me the spare details conversation option.

She says the basic stuff that vampires come from molag bal blah blah and then you get the conversation option were you say you admire her devotion and then she say "you keep impressing/surprise me you know that?" and then she said "Molag bal normally grants vampirism to his most impressive followers and what we have is not the watered down child's version that other vampires have we are true pureblood vampires." She really adores being a vampire even if she does not really say it in the main quest.

You gotta explore the various options since saying certain things won't reveal other conversations.

I was doing the dawnguard side and then my brother said "She really wants to turn you bro I mean look at that conversation! She wants to share immortality with you!"

I'd like for the ability for one of my characters to marry Serana, not because she's "hot" or because "lolvampirechick" or anything along those lines, but because it makes sense for them to. All the other marriage options are "hey you got me this mammoth tusk and have that amulet, let's get hitched", which makes the marriage option in the game make no sense to me. At least with her, the character and her seem to actually bond along the Dawnguard questline. And, since I RP with all of my characters, even if I personally wouldn't like her, my character would.

What do you think ?

I think she's the most enjoyable female NPC in any RPG since Morrigan. Serana is a character that will be remembered by MANY for a VERY long time.

'Happy' Anniversary...

You do know that many marriages tend to fail somewhere around the 7 year mark... (Sorry, sort-of)

Because she's one of the best NPC's ever. In any game. Not just Beth games. Brilliance on all levels.

Couldn't even sacrifice her to Boethiah, the sneaky gets removed the ability to make her do actions for you.
Still, it is nice to drag her ass down to the abandoned house and watch her cower in front of Molag's shrine now and again.
Dissapointed there was no extra dialog for being in there with Serana though, maybe she was as forgettable to Molag as she is to me.

Hah! Funny. I was just running around killing bandits and Serana piped up; "So, this must be the famous Skyrim weather I've heard so much about."

...

Wait a minute! You were entombed in Skyrim! Your father's castle is on the coast! What are you talking about!?!

[Edit] Come to think of it, she has been under for several hundred years...so maybe the weather was different then?

I'd also like an option for this, not out of malice but because she so naive. She blindly trusts you without question throughout the entire quest-line. I play a fairly villainous character so having that option would have been nice.

The problem is that after DG, she tends to bland out...

However, I do agree that those ice spikes are a pain...particularly when you are just about to put the love bite on some staggering around soul and she wallops them out with a chilly spear.

I just had a cracker of a laugh though...I was riding up to whiterun and see a dead rabbit, next thing, a wolf leaps out, followed by a bunch of bandits...by the time I dismounted, Serana was knife-fighting the wolf, and Serana's rabbit thrall was bravely battling the bandit horde.

The most irritating thing about her to me is that crackling bacon sound when she's out in the sun...her yabbering is one thing, but the frying bacon is just annoying.

Bacon!?! That's her skin? :yuck: I thought that was the sound effect for her shock spell looping. I hope that's what it is at least...

I've also had this issue with Serana stealing my kills, lol. Took me forever to perk up my VL form, I finally stopped casting the life drain spell and when to neck biting. I had more luck with that, but still

Seriously? You may not like her, but the very fact that you DISlike her so much just about proves she's one of the strongest characters. Apathy would maybe lend some validity to your last snark. But, by virtue of your seeming intense dislike there must be something there that's intense enough TO dislike. ;)
