Why did you marry your wife?

Post » Sun Jun 24, 2012 7:57 am

Camilla was first, because it was a fine day with me around, and I randomly found two Amulets of Mara in Bleak Falls Barrow.

Then Mjoll, because I wanted to travel with my wife without her possibly dying. Her commentary on various locations was also nice.

Last wife was Aela. The revealing armor plus the wolf blood? Please. I heard you like the wild ones...

The rest haven't been/have yet to be married.

I know the title says 'wife', but I'm assuming I can talk about my husband here as well?
Anyway, I married Vilkas.

Firstly, because there were no Bosmer to marry. Secondly, because I was a vampire, so I wanted to marry someone from the Companions just for the fun of it. So that left me Vilkas or Farkas, and while I originally intended to marry Farkas, Vilkas' dialogue was much more interesting to me. (plus, I prefer brains over brawn.)

I don't think Aela is attractive. Take away the sultry armor and the makeup, she's ugly IMO. I'll stick to being single until me and Lisbet can eat people together as a couple. But I've married Ysolda, Lydia, and tried to marry Ingun, but she's into older men.

You married Jenessa as well?

Good to see that not everyone goes after Aela. Overrated She-Wolf, I say!
Ha! Yes, I never was smitten by the pack. Except for Njada. I 'm kind of attracted to that whole "Bad Girl" immage. I tried marriage several times. ( In the game too.)

Jenessa was one of my Vamp brides.

Aela always seems so suitable for my characters, and she's seems like she would punch her mate if he was being an idiot. I like that. Even if she is fine with murdering chickens for me, but not murdering people. Is this just a werewolf thang? 8D

My Dark Elf character married Jenassa. So far he is the only character to get married.

He just felt that Jenassa was his soul mate. It really wasn't physical attraction. It's just that they traveled and explored so much together and had such mutual respect it seemed right to get married.

My first was Sylgia, It's to bad I coudn't take her along on the Journey because she was all right to have around and It would've been nice for her to tag along. My second Character's wife was Brelyna Maryon she was kind of adorable with her turning you into all those animals and being frustrated by it. She was all right to have along our trips around Skyrim too so she was cool. Jenassa is my current wife. She's pretty awesome and works a lot better with my caster then Brelyna. She also seems like an interesting character so It's fun to make beautiful art together. svcks she doesn't have any quests to flesh her out a bit more but she's a damn good fighter.

Not married yet, but I'm playing a female character, and she's straight, so she's going to have to marry a man. Think I'll have her marry Balimund I think his name is, the blacksmith from Riften. She's spent so much time at his forge (Smithing 100, and it's be about 112 if you could keep leveling), it's not like anything would be different.

Yep, I actually meant to write "spouse" in the topic title but ended up having a brain fart and typing in wife instead. My apologies.

My orc character almost married him. seemed fitting for him to have a forge wife. But then she married a fellow orc... which I regretted cause he is no fun.

I agree. I saw a mod that removed her warpaint and she didn't look attractive at all. She's a good follower though, all archers are.

I married Senna with my Imperial and Janessa with my Dunmer. My Imperial is a Paladin that worships the Divines so it seemed right for him to marry Senna, a cleric of Dibella. Janessa has been the traveling companion of my Dunmer for a long while, they separated sometimes for some TG and DB quests, but for the most part she was right alongside him through it all. Usually he'd scoff at the thought of marriage, but eventually he made an exception for Janessa and they got hitched.

Her cloth is not that white...I don't think. She has the sultry voice of Eola. I dig that right off. Then she is kind of flirty with PC and she easy on the eyes. She kind of reminds me of a bad girl gone good...or at least she's trying to but her loving lusty side comes out. I guess that is a requirement to be a Priestess of the Love God, to start with..huh?

I also favor the sarcastic jabs about the Home Cooked Meals. It's kind of a playfully fun sarcasm. Unlike that obnoxious, thorn-in-the-side burden caring witch, Lydia.

jordis but i aint the kind of man who likes to leave his wife at the kitchen to cook me some food or leave her to attend the house
i carry my girl with me on adventures, we both do it and share every story that we can find in campfires at night
nothing better than a hard day of work adventuring only to come at home together once a week or month.

I married Senna bc I'm a breton and wanted to marry a breton from Markarth. I destroyed the DB so it was impossible to marry Muiri. Senna turned out to be not so bad. And that hood is good cuz her grey hair is kinda ugly.

Jenassa, shes just badass incarnate, i like her personally, she talks more than all the others apart from Mjoll, who sounds like a damn parrot, shes hot and willing to do anythung. Not to mention she duel wields, there aint nothing my Orc dont like about her, perfect match really.

Why I married my female Wood Elf to Marcurio:

1. He delivered on his promise to be a very proficient mage.
2. His witty banter. The first time he said, "I suppose you intend to carry off everything of value in here." Yes, that's me alright!
3. Then he complained when I asked him to help me carry it all, "I am an apprentice wizard, not a pack mule. Oh, very well, just make it quick."
4. He lived at the inn and I thought, hey, he deserves a nice home with my character.

Have to admit, I so wanted to marry a character to Cicero, but sadly, he is not available.

Op, your first point is interesting. Bunches of pixels are becoming more and more life-like, so I think you can call Skyrim women attractive if you like.

Anyways, picked Ysolda because she's sweet and makes nom noms for me. Alas, I've quite recently found a new love...

My first character Braggen got roped into marriage out of curiosity, he did not marry who he would have chosen. I knew about the achievement, but had not worked out how to marry anyone. I was doing the quests for the Temple of Mara in Riften and the marriage thing came up. I brought an amulet, put it on and went back to Honeyside to see if I could work out how to get married. Well Iona had him all tied up no trouble, I never realised there were no options to test out if you wanted to be married or not. So not wanting to leave her at the alter, he got married. My other two characters are not planning any unexpected marriages. Although my third character an Orc has his eye on a hot Orc lass over in one of the strongholds. Aussie my one female character has yet to see anyone she would be interested in marrying, and she has explored most of Skyrim, she might be remaining single.

My mage married Camilla Valerius because she's one of the first people he came to trust in Skyrim. They were both foreigners, both unsure of their opinions about Skyrim.

My Battlemage married Vilkas. They were both Companions, both sworn by honor. They built up a relationship with each other during various contracts, and were able to confide in each other about their hunger as werewolves.

My character's marriages are always very RP-driven. I love the mechanic though, it really adds a lot to the game.
