Why are there no snakes in FNV? There are Nightstalkers but they are hybrids, not full snakes.

Snakes are allover the areas of that sort! Poisonous snakes, constricters maybe. Not a snake expert of anything, I know poisonous snakes live in the desert. Not sure on constricters.

I expected mutated snakes when I started. Mutated snakes would be awesome. So long as they did not do something stupid like make the constricters wrap themselves round you and you have to use [censored] quick time events or button mashing to get out of it.
There are other desert animals. Geckos, coyotes, cardovors. All sorts of desert animals.

So why no snakes? It does'nt make any sense.
Snakes ar'nt weak or anything. They would survive the great war.

Also, it is odd, deep in cowboy territory, that there are no horses or ponies. The Mojave Wasteland of all places would have horses. There should be mutated horses. That would be awsome. Cows and sheep survived and mutated into Brahmin and Bighorners and they are among the least aggressive creatures. Not harmless by any means, all animals are dangerous.

Well, there's no horses, but tons of Wonderglue. You do the math.

As for your original question, there are a lot of desert animals that are not in this game. That's just the way design goes. I can't think of any game that has every form of wildlife appropriate to the environment.

Likely engine limitation. I know that's used a lot (and sometimes erroneously), but snakes would have to have quite a lot of unique animations to move around believably; and it would not be believable that they would be hindered by most of the barricades and obstacles in the game ~but they would have to be just like everything else. :shrug:

Constrictors would be difficult to implement, and venomous snakes have nothing going for them beyond venom. There are plenty of tough durable creatures with venom there really isn't a point to adding weak creeatures incapable of harming a human being beyond the poison.
As it happens there are a the nightstalker, a bizare mixture of rattlesnake and Coyote. I still don't get why they lay eggs as neither Coyotes or http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rattlesnake#Reproduction lay eggs.

I don't get why cats are extinct but dogs aren't. Cats are engineered as the perfect hunters of nature while dogs are just stupid scavengers.

Cause for some reason unbeknown to me people actually like dogs. (No really, they do! Don't get why, they're just needy spoiled beasts.)

As an owner of three dogs, I can assure you that two of them are very useful, good hunting dogs and guard dogs.

Yeah but you have to train them to hunt effecientely. Dogs on their own are terrible hunters. Cats are naturally born hunters. Even your basic house cat is a very effecient killer, you would be surprised how much stuff a pet cat can kill.

I bet they're still needy, and being hunting and guard dogs they are surely beasts that cannot be trusted. (I really hate dogs, must have been bitten by one as a kid cause the way I loathe them seems ridiculous when I see people actually "enjoy" having them as pets.)

I also have three cats, good for nothing animals. My dogs are some of my closest and most loyal companions, even the useless Pomeranian is more of a companion than any of my three lazy ass cats.

Ok first of all, cats sleep a lot OK. Lions sleep 20 out of 24 hours a day for example. It's part of their nature because they burn so much energy on focusing and hunting their prey.

If you didn't declaw your cats, I bet your "lazy" cats would survive out in nature a lot more effectively than your "superior" hunting dogs.

None of my cats are declawed, and I can't believe your lumping domestic cats with lions, sure, domestic cats are good hunters, of mice and small birds, but if people wanted them dead, they'd die. And if you want to keep going with putting domestic cats with big cats, I'd like to bring wolves and other predatory canines.

Wolves are terrible hunters. They only know how to hunt in packs. A lone wolf usually doesn't survive long on their own. And most of the time they prefer scavenging over hunting.

And how are cats any better, honestly, you seem so convinced that cats are the [censored] batman of the wilderness, while my neighbors pit bull has straight up killed every stray cat in the neighborhood. And in the end, it doesn't matter what good hunters they are, because the reason dogs lived is because they are helpful to humans, while cats are useless to humans, other than eating, which they served their purpose.

Umm...because they are. Nothing is a more of an effecient killer than a cat. They don't need to be trained that way, nature engineered them this way.

And that pitbull you speak of that goes around killing stray cats needs to be put to sleep. Seriously, and people wonder why pitbulls are banned in some states. They also have a tendancy to rip children's faces off.

The pit bull only killed the cats that went into its backyard, and it is one of the nicest dogs I know, his name's Ace, and is quite a baby.

Every animal in wasteland are pack hunters,even deathclaw are in packs you likely need a group to live in wasteland.

The pit bull is a very unstable breed. I think they should be eliminated. They turn on children even when you think they are the "nicest dog in the world".

Any dog can be made unstable through bad upbringing, the dogs breed doesn't truly matter, what matters is its upbringing, and if you believe that hostility or other such things are genetically passed down, that is the same logic behind eugenics, racism, and-- not going to bring that up.
