Why is THE STRIP boring?

Post » Tue May 10, 2011 4:10 pm

Well the place is pretty small, though ironically takes ages to get to one end to the other because of the half hour loading screens. You get barred from the casinos... wow unbelievable cant believe that happens lol. Few quests but not many, not many interesting people. No many people altogether there...

Its just, dull =/

I agree. I'm a svcker for the good guy angles in quests, but the fact that I COULD have made more evil choices makes them more interesting. They're not even all black and white. The "good" path for Gomorrah, for example, puts a pretty bad guy in charge. I love the gritty nuances.

Yeah, and they aren't the same old Good, Neutral, Bad dialog choices that you'd find in say, a Bioware title (not like they could do neutral anyway..) but many of the different paths take quite a bit actionable choices, especially the White Glove Society. That was a great quest with multiple ways to accomplish the end. It's good to see a developer not lock the player into only dialog choices determining the outcome of quests.

I love the Strip, but it is definately overhyped in pre-release. Its a shame really.

Maybe they'll fix it in a DLC.

For a game named New Vegas, I had hoped New Vegas would actually be the big, glorious focus. I was expecting something equivalent to the D.C. ruins in size, at least (including the ruined parts of Vegas), with the Strip equaling the Mall in size, but I've found it very disappointing. It still looks so promising from a distance, at night, though... :sadvaultboy:

This damn engine can't handle the amount of NPCs some of you guys are talking about without separating every fifth step into a cell, and it's already pretty damn split.

Maybe we wont have to deal with this in the next TES or Fallout game...
