Why won't my wife sleep with me?!

Why won't my wife sleep with me?

Perhaps she's only in it for the money and free rent?

Or perhaps the same religion that "certified" your natural union by unnatural laws did something to you as a child which leaves you otherwise incapable of wooing said strumpet?

Should have gone with a handfasting! Braveheart has no problem getting girls! =P

"Coffee is for closers," and other rhetorically sardonic tripe.

I think I woke up on the wrong side of the century.

Did you forget to get her flowers? Never notice her hair change? Criticise her obsession with shopping?

It could be anything... just like real life. :P

Have you tried levelling the hygiene skill-tree?
Failing that, make a potion of rohypnol ha.

Poorly designed marriage system. Look no further.

I can't believe that even in a thread like this people are still able to pick at Skyrim in some way, its amazing!

Funny thread though, its the age old question isn't it, I asked the same question myself after I was married lol Try taking a dip in a lake for starters, all that adventuring would leave you on the nose a bit, especially in leather armor phewwwww! If that fails try a love potion, hire a bard to play some music to set the scene, adorn the bed in roses and get bussssay ;)

a bit hard to answer that question ...
but you could get her to sleep next to you , just kill her and drag the body to the bed and sleep .
but remember next morning shout "iiz Slen Nus" at the body to keep it frozen .. in good condition for the next night ..
you don't wanna end up sleeping with skeleton .

This thread reminds of my everlasting problem with Elder Scroll-games... There are no toilets. Nowhere. People eat and drink, yet they never have to p... well, that. Scary, if you ask me.

The game is so realistic in certain area's that when it falls short to that, it strikes. Like with the marriage... I am not going to marry in Skyrim, I can tell you that. I'd be heart-broken if I never get a kiss or a hug.

Haha your wrong actually , they didn't use septic system toilets like we do these days, if you look around you will find tucked away spots with buckets and sometimes a hole and a chair, use your imagination and guess what it is for! Even in populated dungeons I have noticed these spots which are obviously private! Next you will be complaining that there are no Spa's in Skyrim....

In Afghanistan, it's illegal for your wife to not have six with you unless she is seriously ill.

Yep they are often bits tucked away from the main room, somewhere 'private', then I guess you are meant to take your bucket out to empty lol Only thing missing is a few copies of some Imperial Magazines, maybe some cart mags 'Wheels', or a few Man mags 'Argonians illustrated', maybe 'PlayNord'.

I think a little checking is in order, AI's can only use designated or unowned beds, player house beds are specifically owned by the player, this prevents NPC's from using them, and I'm not sure. but I think follower/spouse have their sleep package removed, maybe replaced by new packages.

Well, to be fair, has your character ever stopped to use the restroom outside of their pants or bathed?

They are, there are just very few beast NPCs to marry (1-2 for each gender for Khajiit and Argonian.) due to that there are very few in Skyrim and Bethesda didn't want everyone marriable.

Well, thanks for for all feed-back. It's kinda reassuring knowing that I'm not the only one needing a marriage counsellor in Skyrim.

For a few minutes, I thought I had bad breath, dandruff or some other shameful disease... Mind you, maybe I SHOULD remove my armor before going to bed...

But, I still think that there is more to it than my wife "having a head-ache"...

I married Camilla Valerius, Riverwood trader's sister (only because I thought her brother would give her a nice dowry). Do you remember how she was courted by those two guys, Sven the bard and Faendal the bosmer archer? Well, believe it or not, since Camilla and I moved to Riverwood, Faendal has moved there as well - honest!

And, after a few weeks of dragons' slaying, whenever I return to my home in Riverwood, this Faendal character is ALWAYS in my house and leaves it as soon as I enter it !!! Yes, something is definitely going on during my absence...

I seriously frown upon the marriage idea,

not against making love, even a adventure needs a love life and such,

but marriage,

not sure my character (and I) are up to that ... :-)

Well, think a bit. If you're an alchemist and you want to make some good potions... you know... the ingredients. :yuck:

Honestly, my character has eaten like a dozen spider eggs and other nasty stuf, I'm still amazed Ysolda (yep, I made the poor choice) does not flee everytime I talk to her.

Can't get a rest bonus since I have the wolf power so sleeping is out of the question, so me, Lydia and Aela just stay up all night and party. :celebration:
