Why won't my wife sleep with me?!

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 5:57 am

I've never found my wife sleeping in the double bed of our house in Whiterun.

I've never found her at my side either when waking up...

I've read somewhere that there is special resting bonus when you sleep NEAR your spouse. How near is near?! One in the bed and the other one on a chair?

When I go to sleep, my wife is normally sitting at the small table in our bedroom. She appears to spend the night there...

What does it take to get her in my bed? Or is it too much to ask? Or is my wife vexed that I also asked my sixy housecarl, Lydia, to live with us?

I haven't bothered with getting married, but I think you have three options:
(1) Assume that when you go to bed she goes to bed too.
(2) If you can direct spouses like you can followers, tell her "I need you to do something for me" then direct her to the bed.
(3) Assume that the old jokes are correct, and getting married is the end of getting anywhere in bed with your wife. ;)

The best thing to do in these situations, is to ask your wife. We are unfortunately not mind-readers, we cannot predict the reasons for why your wife is unable to sleep with you. Perhaps you could give her some sort of bribe for her to sleep with you, or perhaps you'd be better off sleeping with her (moving into her bed whilst she is asleep).

I haven't seen my spouse ever get in bed, nor 'woken' to find them there, but I do get the "You receive your Lover's Comfort" bonus message in the upper left hand corner after sleeping while my spouse is around.

I'm not sure if I'm thinking of them same...other reason, that you are, but Lydia is in Heavy Armor constantly.

Unless, of course she read Hallgerd's Tale
and has mastered Heavy Armor as well as Pasaroth.

Pretty much this OP. I tried the same thing on my first character and I could never get her to sleep in the same bed. The idiot I would find in the servent quarters alot of the time, but never gave me the option of sleeping with them. From what I have read in the 360 tech forums, I think it is a bug in the game.

That's a good question, yet hardly a question for Skyrim forums.
I'll ask her in the morning after our 3 hour tour de force..

Apparently, my Sylgia never sleeps.
After several nights spent in Proudspire Manor after getting married, she never came to bed once. I spent 3 game days just wandering around the house to see if she ever went to bed.
No dice.

Maybe that's why the city is called "Solitude."

Throw a Turn Undead her way just to be safe, it's best to find out sooner rather than later if she's a vampire, zombie or something equally nasty. She might get pissed at you, but what harm could it do? She's already not sleeping with you :D
