As for the marriage problem, what they should of done is make only about a dozen npcs mariageable, but make the really interesting or unique. Also, to woo them, you should do more than just one simple task for them.
One thing they should have done is fairly represent all ten playable races, providing at
least one NPC for each gender for each race. As it is right now, some races like High Elves and I think Redguards only have one option (meaning only one gender is actually represented), and others like the Wood Elves and Khajiit are not represented at all. Fortunately, they could easily fix this problem with DLC. Also, if they include the ability to adopt children in DLC, it would be nice if they could add Elven (which includes Orcs BTW) and beast race children to the game. After all, it would be kind of odd from a lore point of view for Elven or beast race couples to be adopting human children, though
Spoiler Brand-Shei is a Dark Elf raised by Argonians so just about anything is possible in the lore in terms of racial relations.
Not to say there's anything wrong with a diverse family of course, but I'm just picturing the possibilities of High Elves raising Nord children, and Argonians raising Imperial children, which I don't know if I would use the word "funny," but interesting because of the lore between the typical relations of some of these races.
