I have http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Toshiba+-+Satellite+Laptop+/+AMD+Phenom%26%23153;+II+Processor+/+17.3%22+Display+/+4GB+Memory+/+500GB+Hard+Drive+-+Helios+Gray/1261624.p?id=1218244144048&skuId=1261624 Do you think I could run it?

"Sorry, the page you requested was not found."

Should I try it with Fallout 3 first?

Perhaps... here, check this link: http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/

to see if your laptop can handle certain software like FO3 or NV.

I have it on PS3 and I'm pretty much happy with it...well, I will be if they get it patched soon. I love the game and I would rather play any game on PS3 rather than PC just because I like to sit on my couch and relax while I play. The only problem I have with FONV on PS3 is that right now it's pretty much unplayable. I very much enjoyed the first week or so playing but now the freezing has gotten so bad I'm not even able to access several areas on the map. Once it's patched though (fingers crossed that it's soon) I'll be back in business and all will be good again.

Although....I do sometimes envy PC players because they can use mods and stuff. That would be kinda cool. I suppose I might enjoy playing games on PC if I could afford a really good gaming laptop. But I don't see that happening any time in the near future.

True...results are as expected so far in this poll. The ones who are saying they have on console but wish they had it on PC are mostly only wishing so because PC has less problems and problems it does have can be modded. If I had a decent PC and knew what I know now about the many problems with it on PS3 I definitely would have gotten it on PC....you'd be a fool not to.

Even though I'm not really into games on PC...haven't played any at all since years ago when Ultima Online was 2D only with the top down view. Man I miss that game...don't know why, but I just really liked it much more than any today like WoW or EQ. IMO that old 2D view just had something that's really not possible to achieve with 1st person view.

I think you have the necessary requirements. But I dont know anything about your videocard, I'm more of a NVIDIA person myself. ;)

-----------------------

Just to be sure here are the absolute minimum requirements from http://cyri.systemrequirementslab.com/CYRI/ for FONV:

Dual Core 2.0 GHz Processor or better

RAM: 2 GB available memory

OS: Windows 7 / Vista / XP

NVIDIA GeForce 6 series or better, ATI Radeon X1300 XT series or better

Free Disk Space Minimum: 10 GB

I love how all the PC users have to post their CP(enis)U specs.

Lol very true, it's a way we get together and discuss our issues. To me, I'm just curious to see how other more powerful computers are doing. My [censored] Computer is an 2008 gaming era, a 2.53 ghz core 2 duo, 9800gt and 2.5 gigs of ram. Been meaning to upgrade my ram to 4 gigs to accommodate loading cells in this game.

A lot has been said about the price of a gaming computer. However I beg to differ if you know how to shop for your needs. A lot of dummies go out and buy core i5 or core i7 with gtx graphic cards for simple games like mw2 or even starcraft 2. I received my desktop with my current cpu, no hard drive and 512 mb of ram for only $130, liquidated from an office. Meaning nothing intense was ever done on it. However, I sold my old desktop that had 2 gigabytes of ram with a Pentium D 945 for $190. So I made money upgrading. I sold my old 9400gt for $40 and bought my 9800gt for $50. -$10. I don't get any noticable hardware lag for Fallout New Vegas, exception of the first 5 seconds when entering the strip which isn't worth upgrading my main components for.

I have a 3ghz Core2 duo, a geforce 9600, and 4gigs of memory. Runs just great here, I have zero complaints against the technical side of the game. It might be worth starting a new thread over in the Issues subforum if you think your game experience is below expectations.

Man, why are you playing on a 360 when you spent that kinda wedge on a laptop?

PC happy,

I still can not believe that anyone plays games on consoles, like cavemen huddled shivering around a damp smokey camp fire when central heat and air is right next door. Consoles are SOOOOOOO LAST CENTURY, like land lines, cell phones the size of a brick, Wal Mart prideing itself on Made in America, voodoo economics like trickle down, telephone Modems, and most patheticly America Online. All of you console players join the modern world and PC your gaming experience, save gaming before the harm to gaming is irreversable and we are all subject to Microsoft's and Sony's whims. :banghead:

That's so not true. Consoles have their advantages and charms too. First off not everyone likes tinkering with pc's. People come home after a long day at work or school crash in their couch, plug in their machine and play (alone or with friends). If it would be sooo last century these machines wouldn't be popular or sold, now would it?

Some games I prefer on my console, especially sport and racing games.

No flaming consols please or this thread will get closed

I am personally a PC user but I see the advantages of consoles. One being you can just chill on a sofa and play. That and the fact you don't need to worry about specs and other such things.

Hmmm... 'tis true, I can't stand FPS on a console, but gimme a 360 pad any day for 3rd person action! I don't really play point and click or RTS these days, but can you imagine how terrible that would of been with a pad? lol

@DrDarkness: don't really see that as an advantage as I hook my PC through HDMI (I am a PC gamer AND a console gamer btw, you might even say I'm just a Gamer and don't "really" mind what platform I'm on :P )

Main advantage I see for most people is time/lack-of-know-how/laziness as to get a decent experience from a PC you gotta put a bit of time and research into the thing, and you really DO have to build your own if you don't wanna get screwed!

why do people always have to throw round the whole "PS3 newb" and "spec crazed PC elitist" stuff
We's all Gamers! /rant lol

PS3 initially, but then I purchased the PC version after a few patches had come out. I mostly bought it for the mods.

Surprisingly (or maybe not) the my PC runs much smoother and has been far more stable than my console version. Played for 8 hours straight (no, not a life to speak of) and not one CTD.

I was not flaming, i was just stating the obvious truth. I can play from my couch as well they make these things called infra red mice and keyboards. I do not worry about specs either as i build my PCs to blow Alienwares away for half the cost, so specs are a concern for other people and not something i worry about for at least 2 years between builds.

True me neither. These games: point and click, FPS or RTS are better on PC. I have 2 copies of FO3, one for the PS3: that's why the developers included an auto-aim feature imo which is pretty useless for PC-gamers and VATS becomes a vital feature on console.

But there are more games I preferred on console... like GTA for example... never got used to the PC keyboard interface.

And Worms was [censored] hilarious on a console in company with a few friends.

I find polls like this fascinating, as they often show that there are more PC users reading and responding to these forums than console users - yet console users make up such a large percentage of the user base... I would have though console users would dominate here honestly - but every poll I see tells me otherwise.

I'm on a PC and would never be on anything else, modding is my life. :disguise:

That made me laugh, I'm a pc gamer and unfortunately it's PC that's so last century, "the in thing", "the trend", "the fashion", is console gaming.

People like us are likely to have at least a basic understanding of computers and therefore deal with problems, most console gamers are not interested in what's inside the box(beyond the specs) so long as it works, and rightly so.

My interests are tech and gaming, pc works for me.
My friends interest is gaming, consoles work for him.
