You can't even ride dragons.

Well good for you... I didn't say nobody wanted it, I said a lot of people weren't fussed. There were tons of posts in the series of threads about the scripts found, the vast majority seemed to indicate that people didn't care much either way.

You apparently weren't in a lot of them then, because a lot of people also wanted it so don't give me that good for you crap as if we were in the minority. There was a poll on it too and most people said they wanted it.

I love it. I attacked whiterun on the outside during the civil war mission. That=awesome in my book. And it provides another rp'able way to fast travel like the carriage.
Sound's awesome too me, Almost exactle as I hoped for. Gonna go back on Skyrim now :P

Well, if you really want to free-roam then get the game for PC. There will be a mod for it - trust me.

I was pretty much in all of them thanks. As far as I am aware not one of them had the poll you mention. What threads are you talking about? Im talking about the 1.8 Update/Dragonborn DLC discussion thread, where the Dragon riding script was uncovered in the first place, which was on #46 the last time I looked.
Im not giving you crap you just seemed arrogant when you opened up with 'Nope.'...

Wasn't trying to be arrogant, and the poll was in a different thread. I was in the 1.8 threads too, and the subject came up, so I made the poll, and the majority wanted them in.

Considering they're three things that could be easily implemented, and they just weren't I'm sure you can understand why.

Could you imagine how difficult it would be for a console to properly render flying a dragon around Skyrim? It would cause so many problems. It looks to me like they just used the standard dragon flight paths, allowing you to fly around specific areas. It makes it easier on the system that way. Next gen consoles might be able to handle that though, but not these.

I don't know about that. I've gotten my dragon to wander pretty far from certain spots by sort of target surfing. The xbox seems to be just fine. I tried landing over the throat of the world, and it took me far down the mountain. I didn't even have any pauses from loading cells.

Welcome to the forums.

Three major things people will complain about:

1. Dragon riding
2. Werebears
3. Spears

add 4. Perk reset to that list.

You started the poll topic? It isn't on the list of topics you created?

Why? It's completely avoidable. I didn't want it, but it does not affect me in the slightest because I'm not using it. Even if I did, it's not like I can just switch classes on a whim, since I'm still limited by my health, magicka, and stamina.

And here's the big kicker for me, I tried it out on a character that had it's shield charge glitched, and resetting the block tree and putting my perks back in FIXES THE GLITCH! Yea, I am most certainly not mad over perk resetting.

The only people this would really negatively effect are those who are like level 81 like me, but lack self control.

I guess mods will allow free roam open flight for PC. Like the flying broom stick mod there are already flying mount mods out there, from how I understood it dragon mounts simply didn't exist because of the lack of animations and because it was hard to combine the dragon and player models. The DLC should deliver those ressources... Makes the wait more bareable for me ;)

I actually found that good, even If If found feature useless, it's simply Dragon Ridung does not work with the game mechanics, and flying mount, I personally say that they ruin open world games, I never played World of Warcraft but there, there also considered as a "feeling destroyer".
Some people were so hardcoe about their feelings towards flying mounts in WoW that they literally stopped playing when Burning Crusade released.

Well, if you really want to free-roam then get the game for PC. There will be a mod for it - trust me.
Why not? There's already a http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/25261 out there that lets you fly as a dragon.

That poll is all over the place; 'I dont want' is asked twice (each with a different result).

Regardless, combined with 'cant care less' it shows that a lot of people were not fussed, as I said

People stop complaining
you shouldn't of assumed that you could ride dragons...they didn't promise anything
Imagine how impossible that would be to implement anyway.

To who has done it and has an opinion, is dragon riding at least cool/fun to look at? Like does it give a new perspective and feel epic in some way or does it feel boring and unnecessary? Just curious because I never really expected free roam dragon riding. I just hoped it would be a fun/cool/epic experience.

I was expecting this (seriously). Just didn't see the engine being revamped for it.

They can't even make ladders... and you guys expected X-Wing vs Tie-Fighter (Dragon Edition)? :)

As with spears and werebears, probably. I would think that in order to do spears and do them at quality levels, they would literally have to rework the entire flow and balance of combat in Skyrim, which is one of the reasons why I think Bethesda has yet to do them, and with werebears, that's a load of work, too, and it's possible that Bethesda deemed them to be "too redundant for inclusion" compared to other things they wanted to do. They might still try and get these things as playable for the PC, but at the same time, it may not happen, either. It all hinges on what they are able to do with the resources they have.

If they do spears at all, it'll most likely be a patch like mounted combat so that enemies all across the game might use the spears too (and so they can be expanded on as well), but I don't know if they're going to do patches like that anymore, however.
