Ive played the latest Starcraft and i have one achievement other than the cheat achievement, and have zero interest in getting any of the others.

Yes. Not because I want to have a gigantic gamerscore ([censored]), but I always try to 100% the games I play. The achievement system makes it easier to do that, because I have a list of all the (well, not EVERYTHING, of course) things I'd need to do to hit that "100%" anyway.

Not in the least. I admit I will check out the lists every once in a while purely out of curiosity, but I never ever make any effort at all towards achieving any.
One thing I've seen regarding this that kind of confuses me, I've seen a number of gamers who seem to think that trophies/achievements are more important than the actual game. They've as much said "Even tho this is a teriffic game, if I can't get any trophies in it then i don't want to play it any more." What's up with that?

I've seen people like that. Though sometimes it's all that made keep actively playing a certain game. Take Saints Row the Third for example. I now have 100% trophies, but the gameplay isn't that great, and the content is pretty drab outside the main storyline. At a point, I only kept playing so I could get the trophies, not for bragging rights, but for personal want. I find 'trophy hunting' to be a good way to pass time.

But do you think they are completely useless just because some games do that?
What I don't like is the fact that they're making it easier for developers to get lazy with their products.

Nope, and that's why I modded my gamerscore to be labeled as a "cheater" and have my GS set to 0. I don't suggest anyone else does this; possible to be banned.

What games exactly?

Achievements are fun to get. I don't go out of my way to get all the achievements in most games I have, but there are some games that I do try to get them all. I see them there as a challenge. I'm playing a game that I spent my money on and if there are achievements I don't have, I'm not fully experiencing the game. There are those achievements that are just tedious and those are the ones I typically don't have.

Not an ounce. Don't see the point in them, they are completely meaningless. half the stuff you get them for are things that you HAVE to do just to complete the game, and the other half(at least with RPGs) are things you'd do if you cared about seeing all that the game has to offer, which I do anyways, I don't need to be rewarded with a fictional trophy for things I'd do regardless.

Sounds like you care quite a bit if you're willing to go that far rather than just ignore it. ;)

I find them fun to collect, I don't really do it to get my gamerscore up (why would I want to show everyone that I have no life?), and I certainly don't buy a game because I heard it had alot of easy achievements, and I do go out of my way to 100% a game (unless it has multiplayer achievements). The main reason I collect them aside from seeing that I 100%'ed a game, is because I love the the sound it makes when I unlock an achievement.

I don't care about them much, especially not Steam achievements that doesn't count towards some greater general score, but at the same time I can't deny they sometimes made me do things I wouldn't usually do or even think of. Like the golf club achievement in Bioshock 2.

Also, the very first thing I did when I got a PS3 about a year ago, was to get the platinum trophy in Mirror's Edge. I had played the PC version of the game lots and lots, which doesn't have any achievements, and I thought that if the PC version had achievements, I would have taken them all for sure. And then just to prove that to myself, I took them all right away on the PS3 as soon as I could, which didn't really take that long. 8-9 hours or so, I guess.

But that's the only PS3 game I've bothered to get all trophies with, in general I don't really care about them. Seems like only a select few games are worthy about becoming a personal achievement/trophy goal :P

When I've got nothing else to do with a game that I otherwise really really like, I've found myself working to get achievements that I haven't yet unlocked. But most of the time I don't think about it at all.

If they were like the skill points from Ratchet and Clank, when you get something for doing them (weapons, cheats, skins) o be all over them

Only in some games/types of games.

In RPGs like Oblivion/Mass Effect/Skyrim? Nah.

MMOs like WoW? Sure, they're like more little sidequests to work on.

Similarly, in action/grindy games, platformers, etc.

Sometimes.

like Deus Ex and FNV complete game on hard without changing the difficulty. I know I'm gonna beat the game, might as well grab this achievement while I'm at it.Complete game without any detections, that's a good achievement.

If i do care about the achievements, I care n what order I get the achievements, certain ones before others. Like, winning X matches achievement before getting the complete training/tutorial achievement.

Playing througgh bioshock without using any skill points and dsaving em till tthe end to rack up achievements, because it is an achievement, to Gog tthrouggh te game without needed those skills.

Etc. Those kinda things. But my game experience comes first, achievements s secondaryish

I will go back and replay a game to get some if I have the time, but Im not going to spend my time trying to get all of them.
I just see them as a fun little challenge
