Just play the game, making choices you would in real life, or build a character.

I take Fallout very seriously, I have a character technically first appearing in Fallout 2, Fallout 3 and New Vegas.

Pretty obviously I play an Enclave remnant, Alan Sutler was one of the Enclave who helped kill Frank Horrigan, once he realised he helped the murderer of the Enclave escape it turned him into even more of a fanatic. Rose through the ranks, went to Raven Rock, had a family, the Purifier was lost to the BoS and wasn't poisoned like he wanted, his best friend Autumn was killed. Being the highest ranking officer left (Major) he commanded the Enclave from the Mobile Crawler before that got taken down, he destroyed the Citadel before the Lone Wanderer arrived and fled. He spent a
year in the Capital Wasteland trying to find some of his men but couldn't find any. Started going to Navarro to try and find out what happened after they lost communication with it, found out the NCR had destroyed the place, being 60 now he decided he must try and do the thing he's always wanted, kill the Chosen One. Now he's trapped in the Mojave with the NCR Rangers after him, hiding out in Freeside till he can find a way to escape.

hardcoe mode is a god-send, I had to try and keep tally myself where I was at with food and things on Fallout 3 and I always forgot.

No offense RPing always seemed kind of strange to me and limiting how I play the game seems like an unnecessary complication.

I find FO3 and FNV very role playing-friendly. And with a little imagination you can overcome any scenario restriction. And RPing is not something that's always done conciously. If you get svcked too much into the game you most times role play without realising it.

I guess i do roleplay my characters in these types of games without knowing it i guess. I never like rushing to the end, and i prefer to look around/explore as much as possible to delay the end as much as possible, or just avoid ending it. hardcoe mode has made it easier to go that next step up into RP, which i like allot. I dont always buy weapons because they do X amount of damage, i usally go for what i think my character would use & looks cooler with, same with clothing, i dont just wear the best armour. I have been recently considering having my character take Friday & Saturday's off in Vegas to relax, then roam & do quests during the rest of the week, now thats RP :celebrate:

I'm roleplaying as the child prodigy Ender Wiggin, from Orson Scott Card's book 'Ender's Game', I basically just do what Ender would do, which involves mainly good things, and my character wants an independent Vegas as Ender does not like how the fat cats upstairs rule over everyone.

My first playthrough is always just me playing the game, seeing what there is to see but further playthroughs always involve RP - it makes it much more fun and more of a challenge, I think. My current character is an alcoholic kleptomaniac with no loyalties to anyone (companions are just Brahmin on two legs) - she'll have a ball when she gets to the Strip lol
I haven't had the guts to use hardcoe mode yet - I imagine that helps with RPing too, although I bet it's hard!
