Do you think we will see any more patches beyond 1.5?

Post » Tue Jun 12, 2012 11:27 pm

Look at it this way:
1 month = approximately 30.5 days
Number of days between 2011-11-11 and 2012-04-11 = 152 days
152 days = 5 month (152/30,5)
Well you guys count it how ever you want to count it and I will count it my way.

If it came out 11-11-11 then 4-11-12 is 6 months sense it was released.

11/11/11 - Release

12/11/11 -1 month since

01/11/12 - 2 months since

02/11/12 - 3 months since

03/11/12 - 4 months since

04/11/12 - 5 months since.

05/11/12 - 1/2 year since.

Bethesda seems to be supporting the game, sadly however they break the most basic things each time they release an update.
1.3 and my shadows looked great. 1.4 messed up shadows, 1.5 messed up shadows even more - So much so that it's unbearable.

/shrug not sure what to think.

being the (not-so-proud) owner of FO3, FONV and Skyrim for PS3 I can only hope they aren't done patching. But the pedestrian release cycle and lackluster fixes list doesn't engender much belief they are really making an effort here. A lot of the replies here have been gushing about Beth's hard work and effort to fix this game. I just don't see it.

1.1, day zero (18)
1.2, breaks more than fixes (15)
1.3, fixes what 1.2 broke (7)
1.4, finally some relief for PS3 users - game is reliable and playable 4 months later! (58)
1.5, adds new kill cams that are broken anyway (33)

Actually I think a few of the 1.5 official fixes are for stuff they introduced while developing 1.5. And several things in each patch are still not really fixed (white phial, anyone?)

So while the Beth team has been 'hard at work' they have released about 106 fixes, some of which made things worse, compared to the http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1358353-beta-unofficial-skyrim-patch-thread-2/page__view__findpost__p__20483773

5 months since release and we still have atomic nirnroots, broken autosaves and how about we add in that my controller just doesn't work sometimes. These all since day zero and not even a comment from Beth.. wtf

I would love to think they will keep patching but seeing new (broken) kill-cams coming and still no fixes for more core issue stuff do I think their efforts are well placed? No.

They have gotten to 1.5 but the list of actual fixes is pretty damned short imo, compare to the unofficial patch. I would be pretty embarrassed that the community can fix more than the publisher.

If it seems like they have gotten a lot done since November I would suggest that is primarily because the game was so fscked when they released it. They have just been putting their fingers into the lowest holes in the dike, and we probably will never get them to really improve the game in a meaningful way. If you are impressed by the paltry amount of repair made thus far I think it only reflects on how poorly the game industry operates on the whole.

I second this, I'm a proud 360 owner and I for one am disgusted with the lack of fixing that each patch is doing and the lack of communication between Beth. and us gamers. There are sooOOOooo many lingering issues for the console game(and the PC but you guy's have mods to fall back on), like the atomic nirnroot, the NPC respawn issue, texture problems(brought on by patch1.4) etc...,etc...
I hope the game is fully fixed for DLC but I have my doubts that this game will ever work they way it was intended, and I have lost faith in both Beth. and MS in the process, just look at the [censored] around they are doing for patch 1.5. PC has had that patch for 2 weeks(or a little more) and still next to no word as to when I can expect it to reach me, and on top of that it was another broken patch that had to be patched itself. New kill cams are nice and all but I'd rather have a game that's running smoothly then fancy new kill cams, and I'd be happy waiting for DLC if that meant that my game(and everyone elses including pc) was properly fixed and not just a quick fix that only causes more problems.

You forgot a month the game came out in november, not december.
P.S. I am counting the day it was released.
Umm, you can only count the last half of Nov. since it came out half way through Nov. So on Dec. 11th it was one month old. If I have a baby today, 4/3/2012 then when will my baby be one month old?

I can not see how this is so hard for you to understand. The game was released 11-11 thats the first day the game came out 4-11 will be 6 months sense the day the game came out its simlple math!
LOL. To come up with the solutions that you do is far from simple math. But ok, you think whatever makes you happy and the rest of us will use actual real world math to come to our answer.

No news as of yet  maybe next week, just wish we would get some info. (real info., not " the patch was sent to MS and sony this week" ) even a guesstimate as to when it will be released would be good.
