Do you think we will see any more patches beyond 1.5?

Post » Tue Jun 12, 2012 11:57 am

We are almost 6 months post release and my gut tells me that Bethesda is holding back DLC in favor of fixing everything wrong with the game. I have been downloading player made dlc, but its not the same as something made by Bethesda. Do you think we are finally done with patching?

I hope not. There's still too many bugs for them to just go "Welp, that'll do!" and stop making patches. And they'll probably have to patch the DLC.

I dont mind if they patch the DLC, I just want them to hurry up patching the stock game so we can get some gold old fashon DLC.

I'm on the PS3, so until Sony feels better about usg on their system, I can't take any solace in the modding community's efforts.

They'd [censored] better keep patching, the game is still horribly broken and I'd like my game to work perfectly before they even THINK of DLC. For us console users we don't have the amazing wonderful things called mods.... :(

Last time I looked, the unofficial patch page had documented somewhere over 800 issues in the game. In my opinion, they had better fix what's broken now, before moving forward and adding in even more broken things they'll need to fix.

And leave things like the navmesh bug to remain, right?

I prefer they fix at least all the things that can't be fixed without access to the game's source code, then centering on gameplay fixes. At least for the second one we always have the Unofficial Patches.

...that being PC-centered, of course.

Yeah, I know. It's a shame people will keep on paying Bethesda to do such a disrespectful job.

They are trying to fix that now, but it clearly isn't going so well.

I accepted that there is somethings these people cannot fix.

And how do you know it isn't going well? Last word I heard about it is that they were investigating it.

And if they can't fix it, well...that'd be way too bad from their part...

Why are people saying this game is broken. It has worked perfectly on PC since Day 1. The only issue I ever had was with CTD's in Bonehill Passage and low fps in cities which was solved in patch 1.4. Otherwise all the quests work and for a Bethesda game this has been the best.

It's broken when you actively look for things that are broken. The best thing that ever happened to me is that this game almost NEVER crashes to desktop. I can play for hours on end without being on edge about "the next crash".

Obviously you're not up to speed on the current condition of this bug or the CK..

When it was thought they had it fixed, it only broke other things, like trying to fast travel to the areas that were once affected by the original bug. These changes had to be taken out. So right now they are perhaps trying something different. It is unfortunate that this tool is so [censored] up that even they are having issues fixing it.

I am not going to debate this further as it is clear where this will end up.

Sad to hear...but I still hope they find some workaround for it. Even if it means *cough*start a new game*cough**cough**faints*....

While I personally don't experience any bugs, they need to continue to patch for those people who do, regardless of their platform. I know many a PC player (IRL) who doesn't use mods because of a lack of hard drive, Internet etc., so Unofficial patches are out of the question.

I honestly don't feel the urgency for DLC yet. I hardly want it, aside from the ever-so-amazing house building from GameJam. There's still plenty to do in Skyrim, even after hundreds of hours!

Lack of internet? How do they even launch the game then?

And the current USKP' size is 11 mbs...lack of hard drive you say? huh?

Not a clue - just letting you know what they told me.
In terms of lack of Internet, I mean not having much data usage left - and the remaining data usage ought to be used for work/uni-related downloads, not game mods ;)

I'd imagine hard drive space means prioritizing, and ensuring you have plenty of space left for future games or files.

Same for me, and that is the only reason i haven't gone back to Oblivion. Oblivion runs on the Performansicide CRASH engine :P

On topic, atleast there'll be patches to prepare the game for the eventual DLCs. Though i must say Bethesda seems to care much more about patching Skyrim than their previous games.

I've the same feeling. Maybe because of Skyrim's popularity surpassing even Oblivion?

Yeah.. this.

It's mostly the Civil War that's bugging me with the essential camp leader and the Jarl families that don't move out. Also some banter lines that say that you are some low-ranked guildmember while you're actually the leader are so easy to fix but are still not implented.. they should be!! This is so much more important then kill-cams......
