If you were in Skyrim, how far would you make it?

Post » Fri Jun 01, 2012 11:17 pm

Id follow Raylof. Fight my way out of the cave, I dont know how to wield a sword properly (I practice IRL but a wooden sword aint the same as a real one.) so there would be no time like the present to learn. Kill the bear from a far with an arrow to the skull. Then upon reaching riverwood learn to fight from Raylof and head together to windhelm. From there, take a carriage to Winterhold to see if they could figure out how the hell I managed to get svcked into the ga.....I mean their realm of Mundus. Then Id fake it when they ask me where I am from. Lie something like im from Atmora and arrived during a storm when I shipwrecked to Tamriel. Learn some conjuration, specifically how to conjure swords. Then take up blacksmithing and join the war against the storm cloaks. I am pretty strong IRL so im not worried about fighting off my enemies. But when it comes to dragons, i guess Id have to go to High Hrothgar and beg the Monks to teach me the voice in order to combat Alduin. Or at least keep dragons at bay.

I'd probably have stayed in whiterun permanently if I'd have made it that far(I think I could make it that far I'm not totally unhealthy or incompetent). I definitely would've passed on the request to clear out bleak falls.
I might take a carriage to winterhold and just try to become a mage as well though, I think magic would have an allure to me. I suppose it's possible I'd get a little more adventurous if I managed to learn invisibility and conjure dremora lord.

I'd do OK. I am old though so it would be a real challenge physically. I can walk about 4 miles without much strain but Skyrim is big.

Ah, but if we're going down that road, you would have starved to death because you would have been too skinflinted to part with money for food.

Any Irish would drink themselves to death in Helgen as soon as they found some bottles of mead, etc.

Now, an American...we'd just go put a boot upside ol' Alduin's backside right there at Helgen and nip the problem in the bud, because that's how Americans roll. Particularly us Southerners.

That would be one way to try it.

Its bigger than that within the game world.

Would've leaped off the side of the carriage and headed into the forest. If successful, I would've went straight to Riverwood to get cut free, then head straight for the Morrowind border to join my Argonian brosefs in the good fight/occupation, where I would definitely die from something there, lots to choose from really.

Now if I got lazy after Riverwood assuming I got that far, I'd just go to the Temple of Dibella and sign up for some instruction . Odds are though I'd get mauled by a Sabercat, a pack of wolves, or slaughterfish (because if you can suddenly breathe underwater, who wouldn't swim all the time?)

Actually, I probably would've made it to about where I am right now. I often travel in a group since hanging out is fun, and I rarely take physical risks that seem daunting. Rather than charging in and fighting, I try to sneak around, or sneak attack and rely on speed. I'm not exactly going out and starting fights with giants. Probably would've died if I ever had to face a dragon alone though; thankfully I've had guards, hunters, bandits, companions, etc. take a lot of the attack.

If you joined the college you would end up being that unlucky scholar who has to go to the Nordic ruins and get killed by a trap. I wouldn't be mage if I were you.

Master difficulty is as far from realistic as novice is, with bandits in fur and hide armor being able to take several arrows, even to the face, unphased.
I think master or expert difficulty NPC damage + Adept NPC health would be the closest to realistic, but still off considering how weak dragons are compared to scaled bandits and necromancers and so on.

I would not have sat in that wagon just to see where we were going after hearing why the others were there.

I would have made it out, discovered I am Dragonborn, then save the worl by devouring the soul of the World-Eater.

Nah but seriously, I probably would have been sawing at the bindings using the metal from the cart, then bailed using the rope to close-line the guard in the rear, steal his horse, then would have high tailed it up the trail toward the Stormcloak camp nearby, begging to become a Stormcloak. Alternatively, I would have told Lokir to bail and used his attempted escape as a distraction.

Pretty sure I would have made it out of Helgen. Assuming the laws of the gameworld's physics and damage models apply I could have fought my way into Bleak Falls Barrow. But that Frostbite spider would have finished me for sure. Either that or make me run away screaming and retire to potato farming or something.

Yeah, I would have passed out the second I saw the thing.

I just noticed something though; You probably would've been dead if Lokir hadn't gotten himself killed. It probably took a few extra moments for the guards to shoot him down, and as we know, you were just a few moments from getting your head chopped off when the dragon came. If Lokir had simply gone through without a fight, it wouldn't have delayed everything, meaning you'd be dead by the time the dragon arrived.

I always felt bad for him because he could have survived if he just listened to the guards, but it turns out that it worked in my favor after all

I'd have jumped out of the cart, and ran into the woods the second the game started, there's only one guy behind our cart, he'd have to get off his horse to follow me in the woods, and they'd basically have to put all the carts to stop if they wanted to search for me, I'd hide in between some rocks so even if they did find me they'd not be able to get to me as they can't jump, then I'd run back into cyrodil the minute they fell asleep.
Guy above me: I really hate the red-haired guy who has to die before me, the dragon would have let me escape before that priestess had finished preaching if it wasn't for him.

say some speal about how i wont go to the chopping block because i am innocent and i will not let innocent blood spill in the empires name, there fore sullying it
If that works ask to be unbound and give my armor and sword(they won't have it but since they seem pretty unorganized at the moment they might give me a "replacement")
Leave toward riverwood see dragon run for life
if it follows go to cave point to dragon so the bandits run scared and run in cave they would probely blame the dragon on me and kill me
if not got to river wood offer to work for smith(irl i black smith) (i could kill a single wolf with a sword)
go to skyforge to learn more practice magic
call out ulfric/genral at time to single combat hope to convice him that the war helps the thalmor tell to have patince that the empire has the best chance help it rebuild to fight thalmor

he would probably have killed

yeah speech skill
