I prefer to lone wolf it with my sneaky sniper character, but the companions do come in useful for killing weak enemies & saving me caps on a bullet.

Only imagine having Garrus Vakarian as my companion made me smile (sorry, he's from another game)

I rolled with Veronica and ED-E, Eddie always lets you know there's trouble over the next hill (like that's a surprise...) and Veronica in some T51b and a ballistic fist or Pushy is a terror. She's doing a great job keeping things off me while I shoot 'em in the head. I think she's only "died" twice and once was a multiple advlt Deathclaw fiesta!

Well I hired Boone a while ago, he svcks.
Awful.
Just awful.
He misses a lot.
Does suicide runs.
Disappears and then go "Boone Has Died".
Has no personality what so ever.
And he is [censored] ugly.
His jaw is like a melon...
I can't stand him.
Only reason I picked him with me was to get one of the achievements.
But oh man I'm never going to take him with me again.

Fun tid-bit.
I let Cass join me only long enough to take her to Jean-Baptiste so he could kill her.
Man that was one of the greatest moments I've ever had in Fallout New Vegas.

Always ride solo. Hate having someone doddle around behind me or get in the way. Don't want to be bothered watching out for someone else. Prefer the challenge of fighting alone.

not much love for my man raul?? very handy before the "jury rigging" perk. rarely had to worry about repairing my weapons or armor. would have been even better if his quest wasn't broke in the game >.< like someone else said...with some combat armor and a .44 he can be very useful. if you give him a repeater rifle he will burn through ammo in no time tho.

ed-e was my other one, getting the extra perception distance came in handy.

i never had a problem with them disappearing other than when i went into the lucky 38 the first time. found them outside the gate, at the entrance to the strip (from freeside)......waiting patiently.

I like Ede because it doesn't talk all the time and it's kinda cute.

I hate Cass because she doesn't shut up and keeps banging on about whiskey. number of times i nearly ruined a shot by her saying random stuff. :-&

So far I"ve only had Boone and Ed-E.. They make a really good team although I have to leave them outside lots of explorable areas that I want to sneak through. Sometimes the game will spawn Boone into a different area and he'll just blow everything away without me. I finally got Boone's quest.. It's taken a really long time so I'll finally be able to get rid of him and work on somebody else's quest.

I have with me Cass and Rex and they're doing a very good job.

I don't like Boone

I'm the same. My favourite companion is Cass, but when you're taking down Deathclaws at distance with your Sniper Rifle, and your companion is oblivious and saying things like, "If you can't control it keep it in your holster!" and "What do you see a scorpion or something?" and "Waste'a ammo!" It's like, SHUT UP!

Deffo like to experience the Wasteland, and Vaults and stuff on my lonesome, having somebody there just sorta makes it... not so, uhm, dangerous? I dunno. :shrug:

My Favorite Companion is easily Cass by a mile and the most useless to me is Lily.

Veronica is useless in combat. She gets killed all the time. I can't stand Ede, the constant buzzing noise he makes drives me crazy. I use Boone and Rex.

On a PC, so I get to have as many companions as I want! :^P

So far, using Boone and Rose of Sharon Cassidy. They are truly a heavy-hitting team. I had to change my difficulty setting to Hard after I got them so I would still be challenged. I may have to ramp it up to Very Hard, as they still mostly kill everything by the time I've gotten 2 shots out of VATS.

Boone, ED-E and I are an unstoppable team. I myself, am a video game player who really started playing games seriously, by playing the Splinter Cell games. As such, I'm all about trying to be sneaky and hitting enemies before they can hit me, and preferably from a distance. Don't think you can get a better two companions than Boone and ED-E, who help me try and figure out, from a safe distance, the best way to engage enemies, or maybe even avoid them altogether (I'm looking at you Cazadors!)

On top of that, I'm playing as an NCR soldier right now, so Boone works well for that.

Only downside is that I can't have any sort of a conversation with them. Boone's just the angry, silent, brooding type and ED-E is a robot that plays crazy music in combat. But that's fine. We're three silent killers for the NCR.

Something is up with boon and swimming. IDK if something happen to him when he was a kid or what. he just doses wired stuff when hes around water. last night he was walking on water like Jesus. then he got stuck in it. today i was swimming and he was doing his Jesus thing then he just floats up in the air and keeps going going GONE! Then as soon as i walk on land he fall out of the sky and dies DEAD! WTF it was funny as hell tho i LOL'd :lmao:

cass is sneaking up slowly at 22.07% Boone that crazy red hat man is still first with 31.72

boone equipped with an anti material rifle, and ed-e with his upgraded lasers. when smooth talking fails, let them unleash hell while i go nuts with the ballistic fist. and boone is a badass decked out in t-45 power armor.
