Your worst quests?

Very disappointed about No Stone Unturned, as I planned on completing it with my thief who is also a non-dragonborn character. I'm trying very hard to fit it into one of my other planned characters, and it looks like I might have to make changes to my Breton/conjuror/vampire/serial killer playthru.

I didn't like the Daedric quest The only Cure, it took ages to get the ingredients and the dwener ruin was sooo long.

In fact its so long, that i stopped after 2 loading screens, wondering if i entered the right dungeon.
Then i did googe search + rechecking the quest 500million times
No mistake, it is this dwemer dungeon....
Took me an eternity to get out

Like others the whispering door - weakest of the daedric quests by a very long way.

Gildergreen.
That one in Markarth where you go to jail.
Sheogorath (after the initial novelty of doing it the first time. Eight characters later I physically avoid that fool in Soltude).

It took me hours :)
But after killing one of the guards, I just looted all of his gear.
Then I took the exit from the house, to deal with the 4-5 guards outside.
Once I've 'killed 1 and saved' through the entire place I finally managed to enter the cellar where they kept this poor fellow.
But, Delphine, I think, handed over all of my gear back to me once I rejoined her back at her little hideout :)

Spellbreaker is worth it, for a shield user anyway.

I would agree with 'No Stone Unturned' just because of the one in the Arch-Mage's quarters. Key-locked until you join the College, no key to be found.
Yeah the end result is worth it but the quest is just boring.

Actually, you can bypass it using the horse.

 Sweet. I'm totally gonna' do that. Thanks. I tried it from one area on foot, but I hit that invisible blocking object. Hopefully Bethesda didn't add one to that fence in 1.4. :o

Like Buckom, the quest involving Red Eagle... Even though I completed it, I picked up another copy of the book and it's back on the active list.

It was also one of my hardest quests as one of my char's tried it way to early.

Every single one to to with the thieves guild.

And the markarth one that forces you to go to jail, when the enemies right there in front of you, with the evidence.
And it won't let you do the obvious thing and kill him.
Did you pickpocket his very incriminating journal? If he right there in front of you? Then kill him! No, won't let you.
Cidna Mine is right there! Do you want to help King Manadach and the Forsworn?
Sneak into the mine! Find a back door? Won't let you.
Want to help the forsworn while in the mine unnesseserily? Just say you want to help, or you're doing it for revenge or just mercenery reasons. All are good. NO! You've got to sit through someones overdone sob story. Someone, that it turns out, you had to kill his daughter, earlier, in another unavoidable and unnessesery step.
It's downright sentimental and sickening the way it forces you to listen to a overdone sob story, instead of just saying you want to help them. Madadoch is hardly drowning in offers is he! A vengeful mercenry is good enough help!

So many stupid and unnessery steps! It could have been over in half the time if they let you do the obvious thing and kill the Silver-Blood jerk, then raid Cidna Mine!

Now, I only do it if I want the armour.

You would hardly think this was made by the same company who made Fallout 3s 99% free quests, were everyone can be killed.

Diplomatic Immuntiy. Gods, that is so boring and fussy! Just give me the chance and I'll rip this place up like paper! Sneaking, slaughter, it all works. No, you've got to go to a party.
And, to add ot the joy, you find out Delphines associates are as obnoxious and stupid as she is.

'No Stone Unturned' I will never complete as I will never role-play a character that does everything and joins every faction. My characters are more focused than that. So that quest isn't bad, it's just impossible when I role-play.

My worse are many of the Daedric quests. In MW and OB you and to find a shine and ask for a quest, in Skyrim you get tricked into starting many of them and once started you often can't easily get out of it. I just hate that.

Yup. In the previous games you would actually go and summon some Daedra, in Skyrim most of them are like: "Ohai there mortal. Do my bidding, please?"
The quests themselves are usually very good, but they can start in the most annoying way.

I don't enjoy any searching quests. This is not only in Skyrim, but I remember there is something like a six stone search in MW Bloodmoon I disliked as well. It was the only part of Bloodmoon I didn't enjoy completely.

As to the 24 gem stones, I have no idea how one can even approach this search of where to find these things so I never tried.

Of the quests I did, I disliked a few DB ones because they offend my RP but I can either play them or lose a good deal of the game. Thieves same issue, although the Thieves here was so intriguing that I feel ok in violating the RP.

Of the DB, the single most disgusting thing was the Wedding Party task or maybe the initial one where you are faced with captured and helpless people.

There's a mod for PC users that puts a quest marker on your map for each stone location. It makes the quest much more fun because you actually know where they are and can just go through and clear the places that they're in and get the perk. This quest must have been meant to not be finished until you've done pretty much everything else because searching all of the locations to find 24 stones is like trying to find a needle in a haystack.

My worst quest by far is the quest that Delphine gives at the end of the main quest when she tells you to kill Paarthurnax. He helped me far more than the Blades did in killing Alduin, so until he does something to betray me, he gets to live.

Thx simonizor for the tip about the mod. I will look for it although I'm a bit skeptical about game changing mods. I do some appearance mods like nice skies, etc.

There's nothing really game changing about it.. it just puts a quest marker on each stone. It was one of the first steam workshop mods that I installed, and I haven't noticed anything else that it has changed.

Here's the workshop page for it:

If you don't want install a mod, I think it took me less than an hour (many of the dungeons were still cleared) - but certainly not much more than an hour - to do it using the locations on this page:

http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Stones_of_Barenziah

I started in the southeast corner and worked my way north and west.
