Your worst quests?

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 4:51 am

What is the worsest quest you have ever done?

My probably is 'no stone unturned' which requires you to find 24 gem stones around skyrim, tedious

Another one which requires you to do 5 quests for theives guild on the certain cities to work your way up to be a guild master, boring.

Last one, were you have to collect 30 Crimson Nirmroots scattered around blackreach.(forgot the name of it)

I didn't like the Daedric quest The only Cure, it took ages to get the ingredients and the dwener ruin was sooo long.

The Whispering Door. I read something about content that was cut from the quest, and it made me think "Why?".
Mephala's awesome, and the quest had so much potential. I simply can't understand why it was dulled down to "Talk to kid - get key - get prize."
It seemed more like a fetch quest than a Daedric Quest.

Distant Memories

How can a guy tell me he searched everywhere for something but wasn't able to find it and then show me a location on my map, pointing me exactly to the ship he mentioned, straight to the chest where the quest item was. WTF?!

I was like Hell do they think people are so stupid? Stupid Quest Arrows...

Spellbreaker is worth it, for a shield user anyway.

I would agree with 'No Stone Unturned' just because of the one in the Arch-Mage's quarters. Key-locked until you join the College, no key to be found.

Do not forget about Proudspire manor. It is there too and you have to buy the house. But I used the glitch to get it for free with the decorations.

For me it would probably be The Legend of Red Eagle because of the way it loops if you try to keep the sword or inadvertently pick up another copy of the book. <_<

I definitely understand the frustration over No Stone Unturned especially for strict RPers because you basically have to be a member of the TG to start it and then you have to be Arch Mage of The College in order to get one of the 24 stones. I tend to do almost everything on any character I create so it's not that big of a deal to me, but I absolutely understand how people who want to RP in a strict sense wouldn't want to be a Master Thief and an Arch Mage.

Yeah, that's some nasty $***. I find myself killing them as quickly as possible. Fortunately (deliberately, actually) my Sneak was high enough on my assassin chick that I could 'backstab' all of them before they could get attacks off...or out rather.

The House of Horrors
No "good" resolution and if you just ignore the quest the Vigilant stops you every time you go past

The Whispering Door. Pretty much every other Daedric Prince(ss) got some sort of awesome quest, and Mephala just got shafted. You didn't even have to leave the damned cell depending what time you started the quest.

1. The entire Dark Brotherhood quest line, from a joining perspective. It's NOT that they're an assassin's guild that gets their contracts by "listening" to a draugr-looking corpse. It's not that contract requests are handled by chanting weird mantras over bloody human remains. It's that they worship an entity called Sithis.
The name reminds me of some of the worst times of my past --- as a player, not as any given character. I will leave it at that. The only reason I have the achievement for it is that I wanted to see the game totally spaz out by doing a `caqs. (It ended with me "being" a werewolf that could not attack, but could interact *normally* with NPCs, with a hazy bright-and-shadow field of vision, at Whiterun's origin --- and married to Mara knows whom.)

2. In My Time of Need. Despite its lack of a home enchanter, I like using Whiterun as a base. I don't like these mercenaries, who are NOT welcome in Whiterun, camping the front door, forcing me to accept their pushy offer if I don't skirt the wall around them (or if I DO use most of Warmaiden's smithing resources.) Granted, I can FT Dragonsreach instead; but there are times when I'm heading home because I'm "overburdened but for my Carry potion," and really don't want to walk all the way down.

The Whispering Door. Probably the most disappointing quest I've ever done.

I hate the fetch X numbers of item Y for me quests, because the item(s) the questgiver wants seem to become invisible in the game. I always collect quite a few Jazby Graqes while travelling from Alftand to deliver thirty Crimson Nirnroots, and my current characters always carry one portion of Frost Salts to deliver while making the journey

I don't remember the name of the quest.

What I do know is, that it took place in Solitude.
Your objectives were, among other, to disrupt a party held by some 'up tight' woman.
By doing so, you're supposed go give someone a beer which, in return, will make him make a scene at this venue.

So you sneak off and all that, BUT, and this is the .... part:
After handing over your armory and weapons, I never got it back during the actual quest.
MEANING that I had to do it all with my fists and with my untrained magic skills.
ALSO, I forgot to sneak so all of the guards were instantly at my back every time I respawned.

So basically, after dieting/kiting for at least 2 hours, I finally managed to free some prisoner..

I really, really hated the game at that particular time :-)

Yeah Malborn doesn't hand your stuff back himself, it's in a chest once he leads you to that small room past the kitchen. >>

You don't. The proprietor of Fletcher (Outside Castle Dour) has a key named "Key to Fletcher's" Or something similar, which curiously also opens the backdoor of Proudspire Manor. I was SO glad that I didn't have to waste 25,000 gold after I found that out!

I had a good laugh reading your story. Maybe not funny to you. The quest was Diplomatic Immunity, part of the main quest. And your stuff was in the chest in the room right after the kitchen. I can't believe you actually made it without your gear. Impressive.

Unfortunately, you can't get past the outer/first courtyard after the quest. There's even an invisible blocking object at one of the fences over which we can easily jump. <_<

Actually, you can bypass it using the horse.
