Is it too early for "I told you so" posts?

Elder Scrolls will not translate well to MMO format. Co-op option makes so much more sense, and 99% of the code is already done. But a fat monthly subscription is wayyy too tempting.

GG.

Just because it's 3rd person and hotkey-centric automatically makes it a WoW clone?
Besides it's not as bad as you think. Many people play TES in 3rd person (hell, they made it an effort for it to look good in Skyrim) and you use hotkeys on the PC anyway.

It also has classes, standard lvl up system (so no Skill based system TES is known for).

Its not the third person for me, its the hotkey combat. I utterly despise it xs Welp, there goes my hope for this game.

Don't be ridiculous.

It's a GW2 clone.

Except y'know... the potential for this: http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1371297-crafting-and-economy-system/

From scans:

"Despite cleaving to genre standereds with classes, experience points, and progression....etc. The structure is instantly familiar to any TES fan with a compass pointing towards points of interest and hundreds of things to stumble across along the way. You maybe doing it from a third-person perspective and using a hotbar to activate skills, but the basic idea is the same".

Let me point this out, look at the combat system from the new MMO Tera, they still have hotkeys but they have to direct their attacks. And it's also a 3rd person too. So, if they're following that route I applaud them, because Tera is freakin' amazing.

Maybe some background then? Like how do you have access to scans of a magazine that isn't out for another month?

If it's from Game Informer they always release there magazines about a month ahead, so there June magazine will come out with in a week or two... so it's likley already done by now.

There is only one reason to post this without further details learned from the scan. Its to incite flames and discontent. Anyone actually interested in giving us some info on the game would have included more than EXACTLY what you know we will all hate.

If its true, give us a few more details than just that.

This doesn't seem legit. The way they're advertising with this quote is the same as saying "Well, the game's [censored], but we called it elder scrolls so it's less [censored]."

Not really the right way to market this game

The graphics remind me of LOTRO...which is not a good thing, especially for a TES MMO.

Just found it, while it doesn't really remind me of an Elder Scrolls game... it still has me interested.

All right, I more concerned on combat, personally, but if you insist. The 3 factions are:
Aldmeri Dominion
Ebonheart Pact
Daggerfall Covenant

Well TES really doesn't have an artstyle now does it? from Morrowinds Browns to Oblivions Brights and Skyrims bleached if you put them up side by side looking at a lets say.....field you couldnt tell they are about of the same genre no?

I think I'll keep this game in the back of my mind, but I'm not nearly as excited for it anymore as I was for Skyrim. I'm gonna be more excited for the upcoming DLC than this, the game looks like it plays like a guild wars 2 clone and looks almost identical to LOTRO.

I'm just reading a page on the combat, I'll quote the interesting parts.
So it's somewhat like GW2. yay  .

Morrowind and Oblivion had classes as well, and the ability to make your own. And the fine folks in Germany who made Nehrim experimented with a standard lvl up system for Oblivion. It was OK-ish I guess.

Aldmeri Dominion? Isn't that a name that only comes to exist a 1000 years later?
