So about this Talos guy...

Yeah I know that, but no one knows what happened to him afterwards.
I think my guy opened a take-out soba noodle restaurant.

I think the purpose of TES games is live out the adventures of a legendary mortal. You're still important; you're still a hero. But you're a mortal.

Well, you're more like a Daedra than an Aedra. Aedra don't directly intervene or play a role in the affairs of mortal life. Daedra do. Thats why I agree that Talos should be banned. He became an emperor what more does he want. He may be revered in the eyes of his followers, but his made enemies everywhere, especially in the factions that he conquered. He'll never be worshiped by all.

No god is ever worshiped by all, but Talos was worshiped by all races that worshiped the 9 Divines. And he isn't the only god to have made enemies.

And even if our characters are more like Daedra than Aedra, the Daedra are still et'Ada as are the Aedra. Daedra, like the Aedra are Elder Spirits. Gods. The Daedra are gods of change while the Aedra are gods of stasis, but they are all et'Ada.

Well Tiber Septim united the empire and fought off the akaviri, and his impact affected all of Tamriel. In Skyrim, the threats are only in Skyrim. The civil war is only the Stormcloaks and the Legion's war in Skyrim only. As for Alduin, well, *MAJOR EXTREME SPOILERS*

*SPOILERS*

Alduin is the son of Akatosh, Arngeir and other texts say his job is to literally eat the world to make way for a new one. Arngeir also says that he may reappear at the end of the world to fulfill his job of eating the world since you don't devour his soul.

The man became a god. He must have been pretty amazing, seeing how even though our Nereverine, Champion of Cyrodill, and Dragonborn WERE amazing people, apparently it's canon that we eventually just die. Unless you like to role play otherwise. Or that you were actually not-so-amazing.

Ever wonder what Bethesda's vision of Talos and his accomplishments to becoming a divine is like? A prequel Elder Scrolls title or maybe some DLC featuring some sort of flashback quest where you encounter him sounds doable.

I'd like to meet this guy. And if he turns out sub-par compared to me, I'll be sure to role play that my character becomes a hardcoe anti-divine guy because the jerks overlooked him as the potential 'Tenth.' >:{O~

Talos was indeed an interesting character, and I'm sure that the upcoming DLC will touch upon Talos, Shor, and the Thalmor.

What's interesting to me, is that we (the player) are sort of taking the role of Shezarrine by ensuring this Kulpas continued existance. Talos is the patron of war, just rulership, and questing heroes. That Talos mantled Lorkhan is also quite interesting

I wonder if Talos is working through us, and what does this God hope to accomplish, other than extending this Kulpa?

Did you know that Arkay, according to some sources, was also a man who ascended to a God? I personally don't believe it, but Nirn is a chaotic place. Many possibilities

I don't remember reading that there are certain rules as to who/what constitutes as a god? As far as us mere mortals can comprehend, Daedra are gods, Aedra are gods, so why can't we assume that the champion of Cyrodiil who ascended to Deadrahood ( my new official word) and Talos who achieved much more could ascend to becoming an Aedra?

Like with any mortal-god and prophet, Talos was just a man who killed a lot of people and was raised to a big status after his dead.

Incorrect. Talos IS a god. It's proven in the Main Quest of Oblivion when you need to get the armor of Tiber Septim (the counterpart to a Daedric artifact is an Aedric one, which normally dont exist)

I have to admit that I stopped playing Oblivion soon after started, found it far too dull and cartoonish for my taste. Care to elaborate?

There's an in-game book, I think it's the one behind the bar in Riverwood's tavern, that speculates he achieved godhood by devouring dragon souls.

Well, in order to open a portal to Mankar Camorans Paradise, Martin needed 4 ingredients; the essense of a daedra, aedra, a great welkynd stone and a great sigil stone. The essense of an Aedra is exceedingly rare; the gods dont normally manifest themselves in this world. Yet Talos, who was once a man and ascended to a God, wore a special armor that was kept safe in Sancre Tor.

This armor is the Armor of Tiber Septim, and it bears his sacred blood. The blood of the Ada flowed through Tiber Septim, and it was used to recreate the portal to Mankar Camorans Paradise, where our hero defeated him and reclaimed the Amulet of Kings

That sounds logical.

So..
Dovakhiin will become a god as well?

:ermm: I guess the Thalmor may get what they want after all then...

I see Talos as a hero of man. Man, mundus and The Eight seemed to survive quite well before he arrived as Tiber Septim and the Eight don't seem too fussed now he's taken some of their limelight.

Sometimes people went over the Top with worshipping Talos, eg: Morrowind's Talos Cult mentioned in Gnisis Legion Outpost. In Oblivion, The prophet always referred to him as slightly seperate, as if he wasn't quite comfortable that he'd mustled in. He always used the words "The Eight and One".

Me? I think if Martin wasn't a version of Akatosh, then he should be raised to godhood himself. Ten Divines and counting. That would cause a stir!

On this topic, why didn't we see Jyggalag in this one? as after his defeat he broke his cursed cycle and successfully separated himself from sheogorath. I for one was extremely excited about skyrim because There was a new Daedric prince in the mix. Turns out they left him out.

He's a weird one, being a Prince of Order were his fellow Princes are more of chaos. I think thye play the "He's busy rebuilding' card. I doubt we see him in DLC although that would be quite cool.

I think hew might have an interesting take on the Thalmor's plans. Maybe he will try to stop them? Or will he see the eridication of Mundus as a more organised less messy world?
