All the little things that bother you.

Seems like the "one ring" issue is bothering a lot of people, but I think the game is trying to make you realize the value of your precious ;)

Seriously though, I think it would be cool if the rings could only hold a very small enchantment (as opposed to the main armor piece) so you could stack them up, mix and match, etc. My guess is that they only allowed one to keep that from happening. I don't know a lot about programming and memory usage, but I imagine some bogging down could occur if in addition to enchanted armor, headpieces, and weapons it had to keep up with like 8-10 different enchanted rings per character

If Morrowind and Oblivion were loved by so many, why would Bethesda take ANYTHING out? Sure there were some redundancies, and they were fixed well with Skyrim. I just don't understand why Bethesda took out all the little things that immersed the player.

For me, when I found out that Spellmaking was removed I went to the hardware store and bought a pack or razor blades and started to cut myself. Why would they simplify anything?! So the common average gamer with an attention span of a tree frog will like this game and buy it.

For that is what matters. You gave you $60 to Bethesda (For me it was $150). They win. They got your money.

2. Journal svcks - virtually no quest details or instruction/directions

It's sad they've done this to the journal...

Upon playing this game since it's release I would see what you guys have found that have caused you displeasure with Skyrim.

-Can wear only one ring.
Why? Why only one? Just makes no since no me at all...

maybe it is due the fact that if ring is in close promixity to other ring on same hand will cause clash against each other? maybe because ring is small and maybe fragile in relation to magick?. Normally it would make sense to have two rings, one for each hands.

Only one serious gripe.

They went from the best, most original and utterly utalitarian spell system to cool looking generic.
The massive amount of effects just missing, the horrible implementation of what is left.

With the removal of spellmaking they have removed the magic from TES.

-A game with unlimited miscellaneous quests should allow you to quit or cancel them.

-Can't sort items by weight or value. This is a huge personal pet peeve of mine.

-Chests list all items in one big list, instead of being sorted by type (books, weapons, etc.)

-I'm using the Xbox controller for the PC, and I like the vibration effects used. I really wish they'd consider adding a vibration effect to provide some tactile feel when striking an enemy. I don't expect the combat to be any less clunky, but allow us to "feel" something if you're not programming in reactions from the enemies themselves.

-Certain bits of dialogue aren't captioned.

-Text to small!
People have been complaining that while playing Skyrim on a SD TV the subtitles are virtually unreadable. I play on a 32" HD TV and I still have a hard time reading certain things.

LOL so thats why the PC fonts are better this time round! :D

Don't you just love it when people come in and tell you to stop whining, or how they have no complaints for a thread that only asked for anything bothering you? AND trying to pick fights? but when you go into a praise thread with that, you get flamed, trolled, and a warning/suspension.

My "annoyances" pretty much coincides with whats been said already and can be summed up into one word

Simplified, Not the Simplified to do deep things easier, no, simplified as in there is practically no point in doing them other than curiosity, and it doesn't even pay off.

I'm done with TES games. They cheated me out of $150. I played Witcher 2 for 10 minutes the other night right after posting in this thread. Witcher 2 is better. Rift is an MMO and it is better. The only thing that will save this game are modders, and they haven't released the kit yet. I'll take it off the shelf in about 3 to 6 months when modders fix Bethesda's crap for them. Just like they did Morrowind and Oblivion.

Now that they've felt the need to flesh out all the NPCs, the awesome cities I visited playing Daggerfall are all ghost towns. I got enough of that in Bethesda's Fallout, where it might make sense.

I also dislike all the painted on decorations that I can't pick up, move, kick or anything. Adds atmosphere, I guess, and that's what this series has decided is king.

Ok so I will ignore the guilds, still have a long list.

SCALING. Get rid of it, for talos sake, get rid of it.

Hostile giants for no reason.
Companions (not guild) have no depth, at all. I expected there to be some but nope.
Dungeons, are just linear corridors.
I cant pickpocket things, I jsut gave away (I want the jagged crown, but no ulfric took at and it vanished)
Essential npcs. I want to kill thives gild and black briars, noooo.
Removal of stats, especially speed. Orc in orcish armour should not be as fast as a khajit in leather.
Dragon spawn points. "oh you want to visit the college do you, kill the dragon, that reappears there every few days".
Vamparism, I dont know how they did it, but they managed to make it even worse.
Werewolves arent tough enough, im a werewolf, yet becuase of scaling, higher enemie can take me on. If im such a powerful creature, make me powerful, or dont give me the option to become one.
Not compelled to explore ruins. Only time I thought "wow" was in some dwemer/falmer place, dark something. It had some sort of underground sun. It interested me. Unlike other ruins I have explored.
I can marry, befriend, and live with some werewolves. Yet there isnt some vampire community. Sure there are those at halfmoon mill. But its 2 peopl, with limited interction, other than thm and babette, every vampire is an enemy. Vampire community please.

Oh and my TV cant show all of the text, I tried changing it but apparently its quite a few people. Not fun.

Magic
1. Magic is weak in this game, and they got rid of TOOO many spells. Not a big issue once the construction set is released.
2. The duration on Alteration spells is quite annoying, considering that Im only doing something like casting a light spell doh. Could you have at least given us a perk to make the buffs permanent?
3. Candlelight - It doesnt provide enough illumination and its duration is too fricking short, and there arent any spell upgrades for it as you level.
4. Dragon Skin - This is basically the shield spells in Oblivion, but it svcks that there arent lower level versions.
5. How spells are cast. I cant stand the click, hold then release mechanic for casting a spell. It should be just click then
cast.

Vampirism:
1. Doh this is exactly like the vampirism from Oblivion in fact I feel that you guys used the exact same animations for feeding on someone in a bed.
2. Why is it that I can only feed on people while they are sleeping? This seriously svcks... no pun intended. What we need is at least an animation of a vampire feeding on someone while they are standing, then the modders can take care of the rest.
3. And why is it vampires are really weak in this game? The only nice thing that I see that they get that I use is the sneak bonus and a toggled night vision. What I would like to see is some stat bonus's, and perhaps some cool powers like Charm or Sleep.

Skyrim being a console port:
1. Seriously why did you guys do this? You should have made the game for the pc with CURRENT pc hardware in mind, with a PC UI and then toned it down for the console users and those that have crappy pc's.
2. The UI - Seriously I cant stand this console UI. I cant tell you how many times I click on some option during a conversation or click on an item and it doesnt select it, but what item is highlighted. This svcks, I use a mouse for a reason, and that reason isnt so that I can highlight something with the arrows then select it with enter instead of a mouse.

Companions:
1. I personally hate the fact that I cant tell how an npc is doing in a fight, unless I target them specifically. Seriously every other roleplay game that I have played has a part of the UI that tells how the companions health is.
2. Companions die way too easily and there is no real way to bring them back. Personally I think it would have been nice to add a resurrect spell in the Restoration branch.
3. Why dont companions move their fat rear ends when they are blocking a door and Im trying to get through it.
4. Also it would be nice if potential companions would tell you what they specialise in before you hire them.

Horses are good for climbing up mountains but svck for everything else. The biggest reason is because you cant interract with the environment, while on horseback. What would be cool is for this to change and then allow someone to fight from horseback.

UI : As I said earlier this UI screams console port and needs to change.
1. When your viewing your inventory there is no rag doll to show your character with the current equipment on. No a real big deal, but I have grown used to it with RPG's.
2. There really needs to be some better sorting when viewing your equipment with this UI. For instance I believe the gear that your using should always be on top, then when viewing all the items in your inventory it should be sorted out according to type, then alphabetically.
3. While fighting in third person your real target doesnt exactly line up with the UI reticle on my screen.
4. While accessing a shop or any part of the UI that I have to choose from a list the UI always chooses whats highlighted versus what I click.

Crime: Omniscient npc's are annoying when it comes to crime. For instance in the castle of whitehold, I went through the living quarters and stole something from an npc when their was nobody present. Yet a day later some hired thugs attacked me, and they had gotten the contract from a person that I stole from, which didnt even see me.

Need MAWR LOOTTT!!!!! That is all and I don't even think that's a complaint cause this game is loaded with all sorts of goodies. I just can't get enough. It's like crack and my life has become unmanageable because of it

I actually agree. Seemed like Oblivion had way more things that you could pick up and use and stuff.

Allot of good points here guys... Do you plan on spending as much time in Skyrim as you did in Morrowind and Oblivion? Or do you find that the things that bother are going to prevent your from enjoying this game for extended periods of time?

Almost everything about the UI, but especially controls. I guess that's not small.....hmmm.......

I'd say one of my smaller issues is that lighter colored beards do not match the hair they're paired with. Wish we could've chosen beard color separate, as hair seems to always be lighter.

Also lack of useable lanterns. :(

I hear that the difficulty is horribly unbalanced. Damage modifiers are barely modified, but a Saber tooh cat or a troll will still destroy you with 2-3 hits.
This I find incredibly annoying, not for my character, but for any horse purchased, it's getting to the point where I run my character most places, but there are some quests that take you 3 quarters of the way across the map, and it's not exactly a straight route, so unless I fast travel, which I don't want to, I have to risk another 1000 for a horse which gets swiped way too easily by sabers and bears, as soon as I get my hands on the creation kit I'm upping the horses health to a level that allows 4 to 6 swipes, I don't know why they made the horses so weak since they are the fastest way to cover skyrim(fast travel not withstanding)

Other than things that have been mentioned before, one thing that REALY bugs me is the stupid Guard comments that don't feel right.

"My cousin is off fighting dragons..." "I used to be an adventurer till I took an arrow to the knee..." "I got to thinking... maybe I'm the dragonborn."

What the hell!? It's like the guy voicing the guards thinks this game is a joke or something, it realy ruins immersion to hears all the guards saying things like this. I'd rather "Move along Breton" or something like that.

1. Then they would nerf the rings

2. Big deal

3. What? I'm playing on ultra high graphics, what are you smoking?

4. I found the large text in Fallout intrusive to the conversation.

I can't [censored]in read the words on my tv, they are way too small, enough that the sides of the letters go into each other at times making them just random blobs
