Any other games like Skyrim?

LOL exactly. I have no idea what some of the Morrowind fan boyz are smoking. I actually downloaded Morrowind + all expansions a couple days ago. Also added the graphic overhaul mod like MGEgui, total garbage. Wasted 2 hours setting it up only to find out how utter fail it was. Baldur's gate 2 is still playable and has aged nicely. Morrowind however is just a complete fail.

You cannot 'fail' Morrowind on the basis of a couple of hours.
It was you you failed...not the game.

Morrowind overhauled > Skyrim.

Morrowind overhaul still has bad graphics. Don't kid yourself. The animations are still extremely wooden and characters still extremely blocky. I wouldn't argue about the RPG/gameplay aspect since it is an individual preference.

Slightly modded Fallout NV and heavily modded Fallout 3 will make the graphics cut while the gameplay is again an individual preference.

Obviously Oblivion but I have that. I want a game similar to Skyrim with good graphics.

Try Witcher 2, albeit short its got a good 15 to 20 hours of gameplay. If you want to take it up a notch and play an epic game that can easily give you 100+++ hours if you go explore and do side quests go for the first Witcher, Enhanced Edition. Should be had for real cheap

Morrowind overhauled = Skyrim.-FIXED

Skyrim is much better-looking than MWO the only distinction being the shader for godrays.

before playing fallout know that its slower than skyrim. not as intense. because you like freeze time to aim at parts of your enemies body. you can not use that but its a royal pain in the ass

Yeah because pretty shiny graphics is what makes these games great. :whistling:

As for the OP, Try Two Worlds 2 or Fallout 3 and New Vegas.

Witcher 2 is a good game also.

And it uses the Gamebryo engine to boot, an excellent little gem as well! Too bad they didn't release an SDK for the game though..

Kingdom Of Amalur appears to be 3rd person only, which means that to me it doesn't compete at all. I can endure 3rd person for let's play though.

I agree with that.

I'd also recommend Gothic 3. It's not quite Skyrim as far as graphics and game play ( it was release 5 or 6 years ago after all), but it feels very similar.

There aren't that many, generally if you are willing to bend or forgo modern graphics, there would be a ton more stuff to recommend.

I'd say Gothic 3 also, it's a decent open world game with the community patch, Gothic 2 is much, much, better but the graphics are pretty sub par by today's standards...it still has the best combat (IMO of course) of any action-rpg i've played to date.

It looks good but then they will probably ruin the series if they make the next one into the MMO they talked about.

Fallout 3 is an excellent game, similar to Skyrim and Oblivion in the sense of being an open world exploring game.

Morrowind is a great game, but even with mods I can't see it completing graphics wise (I"ve tried the mods). And no voice acting.

Two Worlds (original) is also an okay open world game. Not nearly the quality of TES games but some of the side quests are interesting.

I've looked at promos for Kingdom Of Amalur, and they don't look promising to me. Third person only it seems, and very cartoonish.

There are probably a few others including some of Skyrim predecessor but I highly doubt that there are any others RPG out there that are as in depth and fun as Skyrim.

I played through Morrowind quite a few times and loved it, but in no way, shape or form would i say its 'better' than Skyrim. People loved morrowind because there was practically no limit to what you can do in the Game-world: levitating, running super fast, jumping hundreds of feet, a bunch of more skills. My problem is that all the mechanics of doing these great things is crap. Who cares if youre levitating if it looks as if youre walking on the ground amidst clouds of dust? Who cares if theres a spell making system when all it looks like is garbage? I guess some people love quantity over quality, but 'explosion' sounds as my enchanted sword woodenly chopped at an enemy was not the makings of timeless greatness. Funny thing is i will probably go back to Morrowind one day just to relive some of the old memories, but the world of skyrim is much more immersive due to the fact of the high level of detail that exists in almost every mechanic of the game. Repairing weapons in Morrowind consisted of selecting a Hammer in your inventory and then 'hearing' a tool striking metal. Yes, repairing is gone in Skyrim, but look at the detail in the smithing skill. Was Morrowind really a better 'Rpg' because there was just a ton of non detailed content?

Not quoting, so as to not offend anyone.

Most gamers DO prefer gameplay with real depth, rather than just some pretty graphics. We prefer GOOD games, what they look like doesn't matter.

Which is sad.. There are hundreds of amazing games on NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, PC, PS1, PS2, original Xbox, etc, that you will never get to play because they are not "pretty."

Jokes on you.

... I always wonder... are these the same type of people that don't read books unless they have pictures???
