Any other games like Skyrim?

Blatant lying at it's finest. :vaultboy:
Are you trolling or just stupid?
It is like that for me. And as long as you don't try it out, you won't know if it's the same for you. So shut up and play some old games. You might even enjoy it.

By the way. RPGs are not about immersion. If you want immersion, play CoD or a racing simulation.

Kingdoms Of Amalur Reckoning will be fine competition to Skyrim.

Yeah if you can stomach the wow graphics style. Ugh.

Daggerfall is amazing, you'll get used to the graphics in one or two hours

I've never tried it, but Two Worlds II is supposed to be an open-world RPG.

I tried Two worlds 2. 2 problems I had with it are the mechanics seem clunky and alot of the inventory and subtitles are over done to the point they are unreadable IMO. Personally I would rather they had used a font like Skyrim. But they used some over the top cursive caligraphy instead.

Morrowind overhauled > Skyrim.
I'm assuming this is for PC as you wouldn't get an overhaul on xbox?

Obviously Oblivion but I have that. I want a game similar to Skyrim with good graphics.

LOL exactly. I have no idea what some of the Morrowind fan boyz are smoking. I actually downloaded Morrowind + all expansions a couple days ago. Also added the graphic overhaul mod like MGEgui, total garbage. Wasted 2 hours setting it up only to find out how utter fail it was. Baldur's gate 2 is still playable and has aged nicely. Morrowind however is just a complete fail.

Baldur's Gate 2 deserves a category of its own, just too good.

Morrowind's gameplay is still superior to Skyrim's IMO - I wasn't talking about graphics, I don't give a skeever's ass if it looks like a damn movie, I paid for a game, not a fantasy/medieval interactive movie.

And yes, I play on PC (got Skyrim for 360, regretting it terribly).

agreed. I also loved mass effect 1 and 2, not open world exactly, but still really good solid games with lots of RPG elements, and they basically fit the OP's desire for good graphics.

I really enjoy New Vegas, fully patched. The graphics are Skyrimish, IE people aren't hideous like Oblivion. There is more dialogue. and more dialogue options. Choose the fate of the Mojave Wasteland by joining three factions, the incumbent rulers, a greedy expanding government trying to mimic the USA, a group of invaders trying to take the land off prior group who take the form of a Roman Legion, a guy in Vegas who is caught in the middle of it since both other factions want what he has, or you can make your own faction.

Don't forget the disgusting forced third-person. That automatically makes Skyrim better.

As good as the game might be, the forced third-person already makes Skyrim more immersive by default.

I dont think so, the type of camera really doesn't "immerse" me anymore than if i was playing a first person game, I actually was quite immersed in dark souls.

In some ways it's more immersive, especially if what gets you going is the super smooth, tactical combat that requires a fair amount of thought...the combat in Skyrim is good for the kind of game it is, but doesn't compare to something like Dark Souls..which I am also freakin' loving, one of the hardest, most rewarding games i've played in a while.

its nothing like TES honestly, its more like fable but more mature.. with more work it can be better then TES but until then its not.

fallout 3 and new vegas are basically TES in a future setting. very good.
the only other game that i heard of that might rival TES as an rpg is the witcher. but the witcher 2 needs an absurdly powerful PC to play on max settings, but i suppose if you can run skyrim at max you can run it on medium or high

ROFL so true about the Witcher 2....its the Metro 2033/Crysis of RPG's

A more serious answer strangely gonna say S.T.A.L.K.E.R. but if you hate it don't yell at me....it's def a love it or hate it title.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pCEc7SA0rWY if that looks ugly some people need to get their eyes checked.

i also second the STALKER and Fallout games which you will more than likely end up liking better than oblivion and probably skyrim as well. unless of course you just really like fantasy games over other genres.

You cannot 'fail' Morrowind on the basis of a couple of hours.
It was you you failed...not the game.

Some people have different tastes in games.

The game failed to meet his expectations. That's alright, it is hard if not impossible to please all. But he didn't fail anyone by enjoying what he enjoys and not enjoying what he doesn't. You shouldn't have to force yourself to like a game, that to me says there is a problem.

Wait for Kingdom Of Amalur

I've looked at that given all the hype.

It doesn't even look close to Skyrim. Cartoonish and 3rd person only graphics. I don't see the appeal.

Maybe the story is good, but I'd wait for reviews.

To the OP aside from Oblivion, Fallout 3 and Fallout NV are close for game play (though a completely different world).

No. Not in contemporary terms. ES, in its deepest or shallowest form is a class of its own. Europeans try to mimic it. They fail horribly. Such is life for the RPG.

If this is what you tell yourself every time you regret not playing any other games, so be it.
