Any Pony Wars fans? This is about Episode I and Twilight Spa

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 11:16 am

It's been a hell of an year for the Sith. Darth Revan, Darth Plagueis and Darth Maul books released. Episode I coming out in theaters once more and now, a Dark-Side oriented episodic content within the Clone Wars series.

So I've been hearing alot of about the Clone Wars series, lately on IGN they often posts images, reviews and trailers and whatnot. But I have come to notice that George Lucas is desperate for money and overall "ruining" Star Wars. More specifically, by bringing back a character we all imagined to be dead.

Now, I would complain that it is a kids show. But after I watched a few episodes seeing clone troopers be cut in half by blades(off-scene, although screams can be heard). Decapitations(Yes, they show it). Many characters tabbed through the chest by lightsabers, or choked to death. Or tortured. Politicians shot in the back, or guards being strangled to death or having their necks snapped. It brings me morbid joy to see that it isn't too much of a children's show with all these people dying. Oh there were two suicides. One was a bomb, the other was jumping off a balcony all the way to a peaceful crowd below.

Darth Maul, Dark Lord of the Sith, survives being bisected and thrown down a ventilator shaft after a duel with Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan Kenobi in the movie, The Phantom Menace. Now he returns for revenge in the Clone Wars.

George Lucas, I am sorry, but WHAT? I understand, the Dark Side has cookies and apparently a good health plan since Darth Vader survived losing his limbs a minute before he suffered third degree burns. Other Sith in EU also survived. Now we have Darth Maul come back also. What are your ideas? They seemed to have made him similar to the Old Wounds(Non canon)

Darth Maul returns. New trailer: http://tv.ign.com/articles/121/1219320p1.html#disqus_thread

Darth Maul was my childhood obsession, so I can say I am interested in seeimg him return. But why couldn't of did a prequel series showing him off slaughtering some gangsters and killing a Jedi master and his youngling padawan like the books and comics? Anyways, for the Star Wars fans, are you interested in seeing him return?

I used to like Star Wars---then I took a Lightsaber to the knee. J/k but I did like SW until I saw the infamous (or famous) "Pizza Roll" reviews of the prequel films and I pretty much lost intrest after that. Even before the Pizza Roll review when I did watched them there was something about the episodes 1-3 I didn't like (other then Jar-Jar), I guess the third film was ok but the first two----Geroge you could have done better.

I liked the Phantom Menace. Was the only one of the new three that felt Star Warsy to me.

I had no idea that Maul survived, though.

I don't know if I want to see the remakes. But I did enjoy the first movie. The underwater scene was intense for me :P

Good for you. Now please find a relative to live with or a safehouse somewhere. Lay low for a bit. Because you might be seen as a heretic. :3

Jar Jar is horrible. I only like him because he handed the galaxy, and billions of lives to the Sith on a silver platter when he made Palpatine/Sidious/Pope a Supreme Chancellor.

I can see surviving being cut in two cause the lightsaber would have sealed off the blood vessels and prevent bleeding out, but the fall would have killed him, unless the will of the dark side saved him at the last minuet.

Darth Maul would have to have a robotic lower half, ala Vader x10 or something. Sounds redonkulous, but hey, it's fiction so if they can make it work, why not. He was definitely my fave character from the prequels, if only because the double-saber fights were just cool.

I was a huge fan of the original SW trilogy, growing up with it, but Lucas' obsession with re-doing, re-working, and never being happy with his pet project/fantasy world has pretty much ruined it all for me. I still occasionally like to watch the original (non-altered) versions of the 1st trilogy, but the luster is long gone.

I enjoyed Maul, simply because he was just that cool. George Lucas took advantage of the third movie with an error in one of the quotes.

"He was so powerful, he could even keep the ones he cared about from dying. Then he taught his apprentice everything he knew."-Sidious on Plagueis.

Then "To cheat death is a power one has achieved, but if we work together, I know we can discover the secret."

So...the guy who knew how to save people taught his apprentice everything before his fate, and then his apprentice talks about discovering a secret. It would make sense that Sidious is talking about Darth Maul in the second quote. Not to mention, many Sith survived death in amazing ways.

I cannot see what is so special about Darth Maul. He almost does not say a word in the entire movie. The audience doesn′t really get to know his intentions aside from kicking jedi butt. He has no character whatsoever. The same happens for all characters in the prequels.
Perhaps i′m not as good fan as I used too.

Didn't you hear? Darth Maul is actually Darth Vador, and Darth Vador is actually Luke Skywalker.

This is how he was designed. He doesn't speak, that's what makes him mysterious. He's there only to kill Jedi's basically. He's pretty boss, but I hate him for killing Liam Neeson.

I think clone wars animated was better. This CGI one is terrible. Nothing bad ever happened to the good guys. They always win. How is it a war? It's a complete farce. At the rate they've won battles it should have been over ages ago. No army would ever keep fighting for this many years with almost no wins. At all, ever. I know there droids, but the organics who control them aren't. Seriously, they're the TRADE Federation. They've probably lost so much money in this dumb war it isn't funny. There's no one to sell munitions too. Your fighting your rival. The other half of space is allied with them. Whatever profit you can eke out on the outer rim I guess. It's fine as a children show, or for some pop corn action style. I hate the fact that it's canon more. If they would just make it not canon, I wouldn't have a problem. As it is, they've ruined just about every facet of the lore possible with that abomination. Even a few of the good aspects of the new trilogy (what few they had) have been undermined by this show. It's a travesty and a joke.

Because he just had a single movie. He has room for improvement. Now with the Clone Wars, people can find out his intentions and his motives, they get to understand his character.

That's probably why he's popular. He doesn't get saddled with much of George Lucas's atrocious dialogue. Same goes for Boba Fett. I think it's not a coincidence that the most popular breakout characters in Star Wars are the silent types.

To make the kiddies watch the show with the misguided concept that "good"(subjective) triumphs over "evil"(also subjective).

It's not that. Where's the dramatic tension? The good guys always win. Why do I care? It's like knowing your garbageman comes and goes every day. It's a boring tedious thing that really isn't fun to watch. Now if your a little less sure if he's going to arrive, or there's a strike, or someone dies and there's garbage everywhere. Well damn did we just turn a boring situation into something more interesting. A conflict a hero has to overcome! See what I'm saying? It's just sloppy, boring, and uninspired writing. What happened to shows like Cyber Six, Batman Beyond, or other good cartoons? You know where bad things sometimes did have to happen to the good guys to make the eventual come back that much sweeter. Or where they had other ways of making us care. Hell even something like Fairly Odd Parents has more dramatic tension than Star Wars Clone Wars and it's a damn comedy! Not a bad cartoon either.

I dunno, I think Han Solo and Luke are pretty popular. It's just the prequel characters with no interesting personality that aren't that great. (i.e. all of them)
