[RELWIP] Armoury of Tamriel, Thread 6

Last one for today...

http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/images/2933-1-1326512660.jpg

They're not going to appeal to everyone. They're intended to look over-the-top. Anyone who liked the vanilla glass weapons will probably like these. Thanks to my new shaders they all shine and reflect the colours they're supposed to and not just green. When I discovered (with the help of Ishmaeltheforsaken) how to put together new shaders for my materials that put me way behind and I spent all day making new shaders. I'm almost caught up. I was already behind because I came-up with all new material textures. But now I'm all caught up except Redguard Scimitars. Then I can get back to adding more weapons to the game. Dremora Badelaire will be next.

Okay, you've got me. Downloading now. Will endorse when I can.

Very nice textureing work, Baratan. You're quite the artist.

~ Dani ~

Edit: If I may ask, what UI mod are you using that adds that font?

It's amazing how your textures make the vanilla glass mesh actually look sharp. (Or is that not the vanilla glass mesh?)

I really like the re-textures this mod brings. They seem almost vanilla-like in appearance. I also like the fact that each culture now get their own style of weapons and that unique weapons are now unique weapons, instead of normal weapons with a funny name and an enchantment.
I already downloaded it and endorsed on nexus.

I do have a small problem with this mod;
Daedric Greatswords do not show up in the hands of NPCs. When my own character uses it, its visible as normal, but when I give it to a follower or summon a Dremora, the sword turns invisible. Here is a screenshot that shows my character wielding a greatsword, while my Dremora does the same:

Do you have any idea what is the cause of this?

Decided to teach myself how to use Blender earlier today, and made this:
http://i418.photobucket.com/albums/pp267/TWmodshots/LightBA.jpg
http://i418.photobucket.com/albums/pp267/TWmodshots/LightBA3.jpg
http://i418.photobucket.com/albums/pp267/TWmodshots/LightBA2.jpg
http://i418.photobucket.com/albums/pp267/TWmodshots/LightBA4.jpg

Got the idea when the head of my pitchfork fell off in the garden.

Takes about two minutes to snip the head of an axe/hammer/mace off and drop it onto the shaft of the one handed version, so it'd be fairly simple to give the same treatment to all the other weapons. Uses current textures so wouldn't require anymore work from Baratan. If it was done to all the current axes/blunt weapons you'd end up with 32 new weapon models and 288 new weapons (Light Battleaxe, War Mace, Hammer and Heavy War-Axe for each of the eight styles, at 9 materials each).

Unfortunately I can't seem to get shaders to appear on the weapons in nifskope or in game. I'll be giving it another shot in the morning to see if I can figure out what I'm doing wrong, but I figured I'd post it here to see if people like the idea and if Baratan is interested.

That's the vanilla glass mesh. What really bring out the materials on those swords is my shaders. Thanks. :)

Probably a typo in the .esp. I'll have to take a look at it. 3rd person model is having a problem but not 1st person model.

They look good. I've used Blender before to make a few models and do things like that before. I know it's usually not too difficult but with Bethesda's games it's always a big production trying to get the models to display/animate properly in-game. If you can get all of the bugs worked out I'd be happy to include them.

I can confirm the Dermora thingy. (I would do a better job posting but Firefox seems to have exploded on my end)

Now that's I've finished backtracking to give new shaders & materials to all of my previously completed weapons I can get back to moving forward. Next up will be the Dremora Badelaire.

The Ebony and Dwemer Redguard cutlasses are looking great. Nice work. I want them now.

I need an idea. What should all Dremora Style weapons need for crafting ingredients? Like how Dwemer style weapons need gems & wood while Nordic weapons need leather etc. Maybe additional charcoal to explain the blackening of the crossguard/pommel?

Charcoal would be good. Or maybe half of an ebony ingot (The recipe would return an ebony ore). I know getting the ore from crating doesn't really make sense but it would work mechanically without needing to create a half ingot in game.

Well. There aren't any soulgems present on the physical model, and I don't know that souls are required to make a weapon in the shape that a Dremora carries. I'm talking about the Dremora style, not the Daedric material.

Ebony would work. I mean, the black handle looks a lot like Ebony anyway.

(Notice how the shaders make the Iron & Steel appear more different than in earlier screenshots.)

Once I punch in the recipe information I can upload an updated .esp to make them craftable and that just about finishes up 1handed swords completely. unless there's any I missed? Ahah. Ancient Nord style.

I'd go with the Ebony
Sounds good.

All material varieties of Dremora Badelaire added to crafting. That brings the total new crafting recipes to 108.
"Firewood" renamed "Prepared Wood" to imply the wood is used for more than just fires.
"Quicksilver Ore" & "Quicksilver Ingot" Renamed to Alchemical Silver to imply it's function inspired by both D&D and Morrowind.

Thanks for fixing the great-sword bug. At least now my followers do not swing around air anymore. But I believe I have encountered another one;
Dremora do not want to wield your weapons at all. I believe this is because Dremora use an entirely different mesh than other humanoids, since armor, other than their own, also does not appear on them.
