PC/Mac exclusive, but don't worry. I forsee multiplayer being the new direction of the series. I'll be shocked if ES VI does not have multiplayer.
I 100% believe ES VI will have some sort of online component. Whether it's just simple Co op, or something more in depth, I don't know. After TESO the precedent will be set, regardless if Zenimax is doing it and not BGS. They'll be an expectation. On top of that, online gaming really blew up this generation. It's only going to get bigger with the next generation of consoles and PC. Like I said in the other thread, I forsee BGS growing in staff like they do each project, and they'll most certainly add some people with online experience.
Lucky for true TES fans, you are wrong (which doesn't surprise me, really).

TES:O ---> MP
TES ---> SP

Simple as that.

Also, before you start wining, how would you handle stealth branch if TES gets Co-Op?
Think a bit before you make silly wishes like that!

good points sir, plus Co-op would be kind of hard, defiantly if you play with my Joker RP character lol :P Most people are dead.

Not a popular opinion but for me: Console for gaming, PC for everything else.

Lazy buggers.

I might reconsider if they ever get the Fallout MMO back up and running.

Sorry, but that's totally wrong.

There are games for consoles and games for PC.
RPGs (this is mostly because RPGs are not casual games by default and console players are mostly casuals) and FPSs (this is mostly because of the controls; mouse + keyboard will kicks controllers ass when it comes to FPSs) are NOT for consoles!
TES being both RPG and FPS greatly suffers because it tries to be made for consoles primary and then for a PC.

Which MMOs have you been playing?

The only ones I'm familiar with that run on consoles are DCUO and FF14.

I don't imagine it's a matter of not wanting your money  - rather, there are some significant technical hurdles for running most MMOs on this generation of console hardware.

DCUO for a while, but I was playing Everquest PS2 off and on for 9 years until they shut us down in March. There were like 5-6 large active raid guilds still playing every day when they shut us down. It never got super popular, but it had a dedicated following for 9 years.. no HD, on a console!
80% of my guild mates had played WoW and EQ2 and agreed that EQOA, while older, and uglier, had more challenging gameplay and was a lot more fun. It was not instanced, so there was true competition in the raid world, none of this leaderboard point stuff. Old school racing to set up and raid. Combat for raids was 80% set up and strategy, which caused many balance issues, but people enjoyed this old school method for a long time

The big complaint for EQOA was Sony stopped giving updates, and there was no true PVP. The other issue was the game was way more fun to play if you multi-boxed.

I was wondering I know there might be a few people asking this but why is the TES:Online not coming out on consoles? and would it ever come out on consoles? because i have it for Xbox but because my laptop cant really play a game of that size (also dont have money for a computer) granted it would be difficult and would take a long time but I think the consoles are being left out on this experience big time.

It's been the development plan to go PC/Mac. There's no plans for console release.

i hope so because im on a console and im not used to playing on a PC.
but most of the skyrim sales came from the ps3 and xbox 360 combined i mean imo they are cutting themselves at the knees if they only go mac and windows they are losing themselves a heck of a lot of players because of various reasons such as
-> people who have laptops instead of computers
-> people who are not used to playing games on a pc
i mean and i apologise for the rant but its so annoying when your into a series of games and then something like this comes along and after a great game like skyrim the console users are being black balled for the next installment, it totally svcks :(

just check out these stats of skyrim so far
http://www.statisticbrain.com/skyrim-the-elder-scrolls-v-statistics/

86% of total sales were to consoles
14% to PC

i mean the stats scream at you really.

Thing that's unique about MMO's is the real money that is made comes from the subscription fee.

Those stats are not including digital sales, as other people have said in this thread. Also a laptop is still a computer. Making the transition to PC is extremely easy, especially if they want it to be Games for Windows Live certified so people can plug in a Xbox controller and play.

A lot of MMO's have gone free to play in the last few years and are still very successful.

PC/Mac exclusive, but don't worry. I forsee multiplayer being the new direction of the series. I'll be shocked if ES VI does not have multiplayer.

Considering that Todd Howard said that his team was staying away from multiplayer for the sake of single-player...

And considering that The Elder Scrolls has long been marketed as the do-whatever-the-hell-you-want massive single-player RPG...

Prepare to be shocked.

Prepare to be shocked. ESO and ESVI go after two completley different types of gamers. I only wonder what Todd and his crew think about this? I think the chance of there never being an ES VI is greater than it going " multiplayer".

Its not going to be for consoles, PC and Mac only. Though due to it being an MMO, you probably won't need to steal one of NASA's computer's in order to play it. I would say it would roughly be the size of some other MMO's like Wow, or DDO. As long as you can run one of those, you'll probably be able to run it.

consoles will always be a PC wanabe

PC market is super competitive and thus prices are always better and products will always improve at a very fast rate, for a 1000$ I have a PC system that will run games on high settings for the next 2 years for example, not to mention when my vga is old I can throw 200$ at the PC and tadaa instant upgrade...

while console market is a monopoly and that's why it tends to stagnate and have tons of restrictions, no mods, no MMOs, no nothing

all consoles are getting next is more restrictions (no second hand games allowed herp derp)

my words are NOT bashing consoles they are a statement of fact and should be taken seriously

truth hurt svck it up and be a man

As soon as they put software on a console they are limited by it. I appreciate consoles and understand the benefits of them, but for the love of Talos are they the Achillies Heel of the industry at the moment.

not to mention they would make zen pay a mountain of gold for the "privilege" of making the game for consoles

Honestly it looks, at this point, that it's gonna flop and nothing is going to be done to further it at all.

That's an impressive prediction, especially considering that we're still a year away from release and haven't even seen in-game footage of the current build.

The mouse pointing on a console joystick leaves something to be desired, I would say most MMOs use this method in combat including a macro hotbar TESO is no different and the sad thing is if they had kept to the original TES style console players would of had a perfect chance to play in said MMO but alas. Lots of people love the thought of MMOs but dont play because there is nothing they like or dont have the right hardware., thats the market Zeni should have aimed.

That is an opinion.

I personally find much more enjoyment out of PC. I do use the Xbox occasionally for a media client, but as a gaming system, I find I prefer my PC.

Mainly I prefer PC because mods, faster loading times, better graphics, keyboard and mouse. And of course.....much higher resolution.
