MMOs just don't work all that well on consoles. They can be made, and DCUO was an example of even a subscription model working on PS3, but it'd be more expensive for the developers, and in turn the consumers, as SONY will have to take their cut in order to host the subscription top ups on the PS store. Also, patches will take a helluva lot longer to reach console players, as they have to go through SONY/MS' procedures.

Personally, I don't see it happening at all, and if it does ever come properly to consoles, it'll almost certainly be subscription-based in order to recoup the increased costs. I imagine doing it properly would also entail coding for proper keyboard and mouse support.

Apparently most of you have heard of Final Fantasy XI...

Because it's currently on PS3 (originated on PS2), PC and XBox 360.

And they all shared servers.

MMO's just don't work on consoles. Look at MMO history.

EQOA was for the PS2 and people only stopped playing it when they shut it down, this year. 9 years running, 4 years with no updates.. people still played it.

DCUO is on the console, tons of people play it. As many, if not more than the PC

lol, save up & buy a pc whats the problem

Don't feel like it. I could buy a beastly PC today, no need to save. But I prefer gaming in the den. My PCs are in my office. I like chillin on my leather couch using a gamepad.

I could buy a PC just for gaming, put it in my den, but then I have to figure out a way to do mouse/keyboard on the couch, have a ton more wires, etc... not worth it for me.

Not to mention Final Fantasy XI being on three different consoles as well as PC.

There is also Phantasy Star Universe that was for PC, XBOX360, and PS2. Though they shut down the PC and PS2 servers and just have it for XBOX now. Oh and its predecessor PSO for Dreamcast, Gamecube, and PC

WoW has been mapped to the 360 controller and worked fine, the only real thing needed now is a way to chat to others without lolkeyboard or 200 kids screaming in a town.

Sure, some dude managed to fool around in WoW with his xbox controller. Kudos. He must have been questing or doing some dungeons.

Try playing arenas with a controller. You need 30+ keybinds to be at least competitive. Console users would be at such a disadvantage (much like they are when playing shooters vs someone with a mouse and keyboard) that they would have to simplify the game so they can have a slight chance of doing something useful.

Sure, they could bring it to consoles, but why would console-players want it?

Your...point? Phantasy Star Online! I can name console MMOs too but that doesn't answer my question.

"Why would console players want it?"

You might want to look into why those games were bought for your answer.

Do I have to Google it for you?

Final Fantasy XI.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GameSpot criticized it at release for having an unconventional control system, a lengthy installation, and having no player versus player (PvP) aspects."

It caters to the console gamers and as such, the control system probably svcked for PC. Lazy ports are very frustrating and TES:O is designed for PC. That means they would have to make the controls svck (much like most ports) if they wanted it on consoles.

FFXI later updated to include PvP in a different form. Controls were easy to manage. Installation... really?

I'll be honest I don't know much about this new game, I know it's multiplayer / co-op but I want know is it coming to other platform's such as Xbox or PS3 at all because the sound of elder scrolls online gets me buzzing.

At the moment all we know is that it's coming to the PC and Mac. Will it come to consoles in the future? It's possible, though unlikely. If it were using the same combat system as the single player games I'd say that it would most definitely be available on consoles eventually. It's using WoW/GW2 type combat though and that's not really a system that works well with a controller.

Honestly it looks, at this point, that it's gonna flop and nothing is going to be done to further it at all.

I was wondering I know there might be a few people asking this but why is the TES:Online not coming out on consoles? and would it ever come out on consoles? because i have it for Xbox but because my laptop cant really play a game of that size (also dont have money for a computer) granted it would be difficult and would take a long time but I think the consoles are being left out on this experience big time.

PC/Mac exclusive, but don't worry. I forsee multiplayer being the new direction of the series. I'll be shocked if ES VI does not have multiplayer.
