Battle-Born or Grey-Mane?

Post » Sat Jun 02, 2012 11:06 am

I havent decided yet which way I’m going in the civil war; but I really dislike Olfrid Battle-Born. He is arrogant an ignorant; and he has betrayed his old allies shamefully over a certain matter which I cannot mention explicitly here.

How about others here…

Given the cosmopolitan views of the Empire, and the Battle-Born's alliegence to them I have to go with Battle-Born. Olfred is the only real jerkface, the rest are alright.

I wouldnt use the Battle-Born v Gray-Mane aspect alone, you have to look at the whole picture.

I havent sided with either yet, as i havent tackled the Civil war. It's a tough decision to make as some of the Stormcloaks/Nords are very honorable, but i think the Imperials are right overall. Doesnt mean you have to like the Thalmor though, we can kill them later fighting alongside the Nords.

Depends fully on my character. A Thalmor agent will support the Stormcloaks and allies, my Imperial is for the Empire all the way. My thief doesn't touch the civil war, not her affair at all. My Redguard archer usually sides with the Stormcloaks, knowing that standing up for your rights against the Empire and Thalmor can be done at a high price and respects the Nords for it.

The clan itself doesn't appear to be racist but being aligned with the Stormcloaks sort of gives them that rep.

Grey-Mane, even though I support the Empire. They're misguided, but their hearts seem to be in the right place.

All the Battle-borns except Jorn are worthless. I like Jorn Battle-Born. Their kid's annoyingly helpless - I almost felt sorry for him, until he admitted he NEVER stood up for himself.
Then why do so many say they are racist?
They get saddled with that Stereotype because they support Ulfric's cause for a Free Skyrim and renewed worship of Talos.

So, to believe a country's people should be self-determining is racist?

Gray-Manes. They are good and honest people for justice, peace and common folk.

Battle-Borns are nothing more than rich elitists who want to live above all other citizens and wish to support the Empires in war example by hiring Avenicci to forge weapons for legion. They think they are better than others only because they have money. This is attitude against others and especially against the poor people is the real racism and the worst kind of it.

There is not a single likeable Battle-Born in the game.

Meanwhile you have Eorlund who is a great help during the Companions and the elderly woman looking for her missing son.

It's also weird that this reputation comes from Stormcloaks who are not racists. Stormcloaks gets the reputation that they are racists because most people of Windhelm are racists.

Now that's my kind of logic.
But there is clearly another logic which leads many players to support the Empire. I dont know what that logic is. Any ideas?

Ulfric's selfish rebellion cuts the Empire's resources to fight the real enemy, Aldmeri Dominion.
