Post » Wed Dec 01, 2010 1:37 pm

so After watching a Few Demo's And Seeing in one of them that you can get Banned from a casino after winning so much money in a Casino,
so i started to think, Will you get unbanned Over time, Or is That you banned And Cannot Re-Enter that Casino, Or Any If you Get banned from them All

What do you Think?

I hope you can get unbanned or wear a disguise to get back in.

Once you're banned, you're banned for good.

Don't you only get banned from gambling or something? IIRC, you can still enter the casino.

Hopefully this, especially if you can buy rooms in casino's or whatever.

I'm pretty they mentioned somewhere that it's only a ban from gambling and not from the casino in itself.

If you are banned you can't come back, that's why it's called being banned

I imagine it will work like this... Of course, the inclusion of disguises could indicate being able to mask yourself and get back in for one more hand of blackjack.

I certainly hope it's like this.I wouldn't want to get banned permanently from the casino.
How many casinos are there anyway?

I'm wondering how easily it is to get banned if being banned is permanent. I don't really like the idea of a permanent ban but I suppose it depends on just how likely I am to reaach the ban limit through gambling.

I mean if 3k caps is a ban you could coneiveably win that much early in your characters life and by the time you are nearing the end of the game 3k caps would be not much at all, you could probably be running around with more then that by the end and they refuse to let you in to spend it at their tables.

Also...is it accumulative? could I reach the ban limit over my characters entire game time without ever winning more then a few hundred caps each visit?

If I lose money does that increase the ban limit to take account of the money I've lost or could I lose more then I can be banned for winning?

Maybe there will be a perk you can choose that either prevents you being banned or allows you back in after a ban, I guess that could work.

Something like 7, iirc.

I doubt they would program it to work that way (would be kinda cruel if they did), and likely getting banned requires winning 2k all in one sitting.

It'd be cool if you got far in House's storyline, you can't get banned from his casinos.

But a lot of the casinos are run by the Chairmen.

It appears you're right...

Then you can't get banned from the Lucky 38 only. And that's if you're far in House's story.

My whole issue is: Even if you don't cheat, and you just win alot and then are banned, isn't that a little rediculous? Why implement a gambling feature if you can't really do anything with it if you win too much.

Either we need to be able to try again after a while, or the win counter has to go down after a while. If we just get banned foe winning 2000 caps, then what's the point of having it if we can't win more or lose it all?

Gotta say, I'm worried, and I feel like the gambling in this game might be in trouble.

I don't think that three day crap is in the game. Reputations get rid of that and it would be far too easy to exploit the casinos.

It's based on real life, where, in case you did not notice, you may get banned as well. Also, 2000 caps is too few. 20000? Well, that seems reasonable. They don't want you to break the economy :)

Nope. You get banned forever. But you get a nifty achievement for getting banned from them all

Or perhaps even disguise your way in, break the bank again, and as they're "re-banning" you they get close enough to pierce the disguise- then "You again? It's on now!" :cue massive barroom brawl:

Just a possibility...fairly unlikely one I suspect, but who knows?

Gotta say, I'm worried, and I feel like the gambling in this game might be in trouble.

Because it works like it does in real casinos? They do in fact toss people out for winning too much or too often, and they don't have to "prove you're cheating" to do so.

As I recall. You are banned from the casino floors, but you're more than welcome to still come inside. Personally I'm hoping the bank break is like 10,000 caps, it might sound high, but to be honest, I don't intend to cheat, (That's to much effort on my part. )

I do however wish that we could somehow revoke that gambling ban. Because I don't want to accidentaly win the jackpot only to have some buffed up goon say 'you're banned kid' :shakehead:

Alois- I know. But this is a game, not real life. I understand it, but it's foolish to implement a mechanic that will be taken away so quickly. It's fun and it seems like a good thing to have in the game, but there should be a way in the game to continue playing so that we don't have to forever banish a part of the game at one point.

Bravo on hitting the nail on the head. One of the features that I'm really looking forward to is the ability to play in casinos, I don't want to gamble and win say....3,000 caps, and get banned for it. While I respect and understand they are trying to keep from busting the economy, I'm one of the people who want to just casually gamble every now and then when I enter The Strip. :cryvaultboy:
