Can anyone give me info on the beta testing? When the testers will be selected, how many will be chosen, and when this will occur???

Beta signups were back in June, you automatically got signu ed up if you were included in the "first wave" from the website relaunch.

Crytek is tracking all of the first wave of accounts and not all will get into the beta, even if you signed up early. The Crysis 2 beta will most likely be closed, but nobody knows when it will start.

I would very much appreciate a beta key for the P.C or PS3
and since I spent so much money on a machine to run it I hope they hook it up lol

I just got an email confirmation about that beta-testing thing. and its true, that the first wave of sign-ups was supposed to get a key,

But I'm not noticing any new emails or announcements since then.

I don't get what they mean by tracking. Tracking as in while using their site or tracking as in tracking our internet usage?

Basically, their "Tracking" our posts. Whoever is active on this site, or whoever posts a post/topic will immediately be shown on their database, on who's been recently active.

I can assume the tracking system also allows the staff to check the maximum amount of posts, along with it's content.

But hey, I could be wrong, but no doubt the first paragraph sort of gives you a definition on what the term Tracking means.

Tracking how active you are, and probably number of characters averaged per post.

Surely they wouldn't base Beta Key distribution on average characters per post. That would motivate people to type redundantly long and lengthy, and sometimes confusing, posts that use a mind numbing number of useless, senseless, and annoying adjectives. Even after the point had been made, the posts will just keep going on and on, simply restating previously made points and views. ....ok I'll stop.

Black_Angel 6.66, when you say email confirmation, do you mean they sent you a beta key or just told you the beta is actually happening or what? and did anyone else get emails like Black_Angel 6.66's?

If they don't tell anybody about it, then nobody would know its partly based off chars per post and all the long posts would be quality, not spam. ;)

Crytek probably doesn't care about the chars, they are probably just monitoring activity like when you last logged on (so they dont send keys to dead accounts).

Well, let the Superspam begin! (ASJHGADSJNGAKJ DALKJVSJSDNPJABFJBGH!) :P

They should look at quality on the posts of the most active users, would make sense.

Arguing is a part of human nature, would be a bi-effect of us getting a brain better used and bigger than that of a fish. Might seem weird, as Einstein said: Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and i'm not sure about the former. which makes you wonder... :P

Anyway, (A?SNFLDNSAGANDG) :D

well it's good that they might reward the ones who visit their forums on regular basis.. however there's risk of forumspaming if they count activity towards post count

Humans as a species argue and have more mental disorders than other species because we have the most developed brains on the planet. The more complex the brain is, the more things that can go wrong. And the more things we can develop technologically, the more topics to debate about. ;)
