Bethesda should pursue the Knights of the Old Republic Franc

Post » Fri Jun 22, 2012 2:39 pm

Bethesda we need a break from our loved franchises except in the form of DLC, So you can finally develop a Knights of the Old Republic with the polish, and mechanics of Skyrim. Factions Jedi, Sith, Colonial Trader, Imperial Troopers, Rebellion, Hutt crime syndicate, Bounty Hunters. Bethesda just needs to develop a more accurate and responsive combat system. The camera assasination and criticals (kill cam), is great but realtime is better, like Assassin Creeds counter system and finishes.

Bethesda already has Fallout. They don't need to split their time any more then it already is.

Leave KOTOR to someone else.

Exactly they abandoned the single players with one of the best franchises. Bethesda can finally offer a world expansive enough, to feel like your in those roles, while developing.

Bioware made Kotor.

Ah yes, "Bioware" the game developer who allegedly conspired with Electronic Arts to produce a poor ending to Mass Effect 3, and then sell a satisfactory one as DLC, we have dismissed that claim.

We need a breath of fresh air KOTOR is a better franchise rich in story, and universe. Bethesda specializes in these areas. Fallout is a world in ruin with a shallow story.

Who cares as long as they do not retain the publishing rights of KOTOR, or release it to Bethesda

Bioware made Kotor.

They abandoned it for Mass Effect, so Bethesda can pickup publishing rights from them and Lucasart.

From what I can get from your posts, you are far from correct. If you say Fallout is a shallow story, you've obviously never played one. As said above, Beth needs to divide their time between TES and Fallout. Also this would probably be better in the community discussion.

no, i don't think bethesda is right for that sort of game, their strength is in world building and exploration, not dialog. Give obsidian another swing at it, or just let bioware continue the series, although i would rather it not be an mmo

The ending DLC is completely free.

Try again.

Bethesda is holding out the KOTOR has a home with them, along with the other expansive world franchises. The KOTOR, has the potential due to story, lore, and universe to surpass all others. Bethesda this is the only logical buisness move and for the supporters, for Bethesda to make.

No, if another KOTOR comes out than it needs to be done in the same style, which would be better done by Bioware or Obsidian.

I had no idea some random dude on the Internet knew exactly what Bethesda needs to do. Quickly Beth! Better get this guy! He knows his stuff!

Yes. I love KOTOR, but Bethesda clearly has enough on it's plate right now. No need to pile more on there.

What are you talking about the KOTOR, has a whole universe to explore and history. Bioware abandoned it for Mass Effect. KOTOR needs Bethesda and Bethesda needs KOTOR.

What is on their plate. They switch to their projects currently in development. We do not need another Elders now, but continue to support it with DLC. Fallout there is no rush either, because they have to reevaluate a direction for fallout to work out the shortcomings of their last outing. KOTOR has the potential set record sales while providing the fully realized world needed for this franchise, along with freeform exploration .

KOTOR needs Bethesda and Bethesda needs KOTOR.

Can you give me some kind of proof Beth is need of another series? Not your opinion, some actual facts.

No thanks. If for whatever reason Bethesda were doing a KoTOR sequel, they need not apply the same exact style of gameplay as all of their other games. It doesn't hurt to branch out and try new things, especially if you're working with a property that isn't your own and has its own style that fans would come to expect of a sequel.

As someone who loves Beth games, and also loves Bioware games..... I can't imagine Beth making a satisfactory KotoR. They just don't do the characters & story that Bioware does. Admittedly, the existance of the MMO makes the likelihood of a single-player KotoR III somewhat lower, but I still would rather Bioware do it.
