And then be totally lost, as no NPCs give directions.

So how would they impliment NPCs giving directions with radiant questing? Have every NPC voiced for directions to everywhere? Both technically and finacially impossible.

and won't say the things I have in mind about the casual gamers.

It must really, really svck for you that so many of us exist. So, so many of us. Legion, we are.

And guess what?

There are more of us coming onto the scene. every. single. day.

Now, more on topic, I'll throw this in: I consider the removal of certain "features" to be a huge benefit to my playstyle and general happiness as a gamer. I love developing my character, and I also love action. But I don't need huge rulesets or "features" that get in my way to do any of that.

A short summary of this thread:
"Let's whine about how things have been removed, ignoring all of the things that have been added and blame everything on the evil race of 'casuals'. Clearly we know more about how to design a game than Bethesda, and only hardcoe RPGers should be allowed to play Elder Scrolls games."

Let's assume for a moment that TES is being 'streamlined for the casuals': then continue on, Bethesda! I'm liking this new direction, so keep it up.

Know what? I think that the PC version of TES 6 will not feature mods. Why? Just look at how Microsoft designed Windows 8. It's completely different from Windows 7/Vista/XP. How do you explain that?

Oh, and I'm a casual gamer, since Skyrim is my first game in the series. So... Excuse me, lord if Skyrim is my first TES?

I doubt the next TES game will not allow PC users to have any mods. People would throw a fit.

Mod !
It really does say something about Bethesda games. When mods are the most brought up solutions.

The problem is, the more they remove the larger the market they reach and the more money they can make. I can see the future of this series...and I don't like it much
...and they're more than willing to destroy what's made the series so special, for the almighty dollar. Really, really depressing.

It really does say something about Bethesda games. When mods are the most brought up solutions.
and mods will never be able to fix what ails Skyrim the most. Poor writing, poor quests, poor companions, and the continued watering down of the series as a whole. I love mods, they can make a good game better, but IMO they can't make a bad game good. Not saying Skyrim is a bad game, however, it is not a great TES game.

If they are making it for casuals, why call it a RPG?

Why the freak are casuals so bad? They bought the game. They weren't all over the forums asking, "Show me Cooking mama's newest recipe!" They wouldn't have bothered with these forums if they hadn't bought the game. Bethesda just had a bad perception on some things when trying to make things more simple. A casual gamer would have picked up the game if it was Morrowind 2. They buy games based on what interests them. Just like other gamers.

Urban dictionary definition of casual gamer: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Casual%20gamer

Are casual players less comprehensive of games like TES or any other RPG and must have things "dumbed down" for them? I am not entirely sure.

How dare you Bethesda!

Bring back dice roll combat. I want to swing my sword a dozen times to do NO DAMAGE!
Bring back the Britannica NPCs, who all give me the same information!
Bring back pointless skills and attributes. I want to be skilled in the art of nudity, and be lucky!
Bring back NPCs who give vaque directions because being totally lost for an hour IS FUN!
