Blacklight.

This might be pretty far fetched, but perhaps that gate north-north east of windhelm might open up and let us explore just a tiny bit of morrowind and the city of Blacklight. Perhaps the boat we see in the trailer will depart from morrowind's main land. Discuss.
Interesting idea, but I think you will catch the boat from the ferryman in Dawnstar I reckon. But you never know you be right

Windhelm would be far closer to Solstheim, but maybe we can catch a boat in every city on the north coast.

The only problem with that is that his boat, is pretty tiny. It probably wouldn't be a good idea to try to go too far off the coast with it. If I'm not mistakened I think he was added in dawnguard too...

Yeah you maybe right  wouldn`t fancy going too far out in that tiny boat either xD but I still believe the boat will leave somewhere along the north of the map.

Blacklight is an interesting place as well.

I find this to be an interesting statement.
Blacklight has never been featured in any game in the Elder Scrolls series, and I have never seen it referenced in any of the books, and yet people speak of it as some sort of Dunmer Mecca.

It reminds me of how a certain caste of Fallout fan percieves Van Buren as the best ever, when it was never actually released.

I once suggested that a future DLC should go to Blacklight, and people really seemed
to like the idea, but with this new DLC I find it highly unlikely, unfortunately.

Alright...So, what is so great about Blacklight anyway? As I said before, it's never appeared before, and I've never seen it mentioned in any in-game books.
Is it just another stupid Tamriel Tourism thing? Or is there actually something to this place worth visiting?

Geographically speaking, the area around Blacklight is such that it would be a viable place for DLC (mountains obviously to the west on the border of Skyrim and Morrowind, as well as to the south).

Lore wise though? Not a great deal of anything. Blacklight is a major Redoran city and Tiber Septim was planning to invade (one of several locations) Morrowind from a position west of there.

But I like how they added roads and gates around Skyrim. I've found like 5 of them. Just kinda neat. Allows immersion I guess.

5?
* pass into Morrowind near Windhelm
* east of riften into Morrowind
* south of Helgen from Cyrodiil
* south west ish of Falkreath into hammerfell?

Where is nr 5?

Blacklight is interesting because it was attacked by the Nords and an Orc tribe I believe. By now there might be a mixed culture of Dunmeri and Nords, like in Windwelm. Just reversed. I'm not sure if Skyrim sitll has a presence in Blacklight, but if they have, I'd imagine there would be an embassy of sorts. Perhaps even a magistrate with all sorts of followers who keep the dunmer in check. You would find a reversed situation when you compare it with Windhelm. A city filled with Dunmer racists who would want nothing more than to stab these Nords in their heart, cut their head off and display their remains at the gates of Blacklight. It would be a city brewing with conflict. Imo, a very interesting stage for a game.

So lore-wise it's not the most fascinating place, but people are going ga-ga over it's potential...
...Sounds about on par...

5 isn't actually a gate, it's a rockslide/avalanche blocked road that would lead into High Rock in Haafingar. Near Rimerock Burrow.

I wasn't aware of one south of Helgen. I thought it was all mountain between the gate at Riften and gate at Falkreath?

Very improbable. It would have been shown on the trailer.

Pale Pass, which leads into Cyrodiil to Bruma.

If you follow the road past Fort Neugrad, make left, which will lead you East for a short while, you should come up on Southfringe Sanctum. Heading south past Southfringe you'll find the gate that blocks Pale Pass. (And three veins of Moonstone Ore)

I know it's unlikely, but hey. BGS also kept werewolves a secret.

Gate #5 Near Refugees Rest. 5 gates in total. Along with some roads being blocked at other various points.

Edit: Nvm. Seems you found that one. Lemme see.

Can't remember. Will try and find it again. For every character I make, I run around every hold finding every location within that hold and follow every road to be thorough. I think I counted 5.

I remember I tried to hypothesize this in early October (that Blacklight would serve as a port to Solstheim). I cam to the conclusion that the boats added by Dawnguard would finally be put to use instead.

I guess, but by that logic you can start thinking of any possibilities that weren't shown or hinted at and say "well, werewolves".

Well even though its unlikely I'm somewhat hoping.
It would be nice to see another city, especially a Dunmer city

There are many gates around the borders of Skyrim, and it would be great to be able to explore beyond them.

How many of you want to bet that there will be a Morrowind throw-back with us waking up to "Wake up, we're here. Why are you shaking? Are you ok? Wake up. Stand up... there you go. You were dreaming. What's your name?" Or something similar. :P

Nice. That team has something to do with Tamriel Rebuilt team ? Or its a new one? Sounds VERY interesting.
Tamriel Rebuilt aren't doing anything for Skyrim. We are the Skyrim province mods.
