I can see Sosltheim but not Vvanderfell. The only point from which I can see Red Mountain is Stendarr's Beacon.

lol thats not solstheim. You can see red mountain and vvardenfell pretty clearly. I dont even think solstheim is on the skyrim map.

edit: did you check in game? Its clear if you check in the game. I might have to check again.

Let's be a bit pessimistic and admit that the roads leading to other provinces (four in total) are there only for aesthetic purposes. But WHY is there a closed gate in Riften? Behind it, there's a paved road leading to some important locations in Skyrim and then heading into the Morrowind province, possibly to Blacklight. I never read a meaningful explanation for that. It looks like a HUGE tease for some future additional content. If this has been dropped sometime during development or if it's still to be implemented, it's anyone guess...

I think it logical to have roads to other provinces even though players can never reach them. It would be strange not to have gates and roads leading there, just because the game is set in Skyrim.

Yes, but this gate has closed doors. All the other gates are open. Supicious? Maybe.

The border gate is open; only the one leading to Cyrodil is closed. What is barred shut is the Riften gate from which the road to Morrowind originates. Pretty strange, considering that certain locations relevant to some major quests are behind it. It's almost like the devs dropped a hint that the road behind it will lead to an important location in the future.

I also would like Blacklight, but I doubt we will see it in Dragonborn.

One can only hope so. Alas, I think it is unlikely.

This.

As much as I'd love to see it, I don't think it'll work that way.

Im willing to bet that they started making dragonborn shortly after dawnguard came out, hearthfire and everything else being small side projects to pass time for players. also, theres no way they spent almost six months on JUST dawnguard.

because of this and the amount of time they have probably been working on this DLC is it really unreasonable to think that we're going to have a large amount of new land?

Good chance they started some work on Dragonborn before Skyrim was released (you could argue that the same is true for Dawnguard, too, if you consider the GameJam video). How that'll translate to the finished product in terms of quality versus quantity? Good question.

Regardless, Blacklight's inclusion is... unlikely.

I just think that its very possible for them to add a large amount of land in their first actual expansion.

Yes, it is. And it's called Solstheim.

It is very unlikely, but I do hope they'll let us thread the ground of Morrowind once again, if only briefly.
The problem with this is that Blacklight could be made into a really interesting city, as previous posts suggest.
However that sounds so huge it could be an independent DLC, which make the inclusion of Blacklight all the more improbable...

On the other hand, how did the Corprus diseased creatures we see in the trailer get to Solstheim?
I don't remember seeing any of them on the island in Bloodmoon...

Corprus was a disease you caught, devised by Dagoth Ur, also known as the Divine Disease. You didn't change immediately. Some may have caught it and carried it to Solstheim while looking for work in Raven Rock when it was still a mining community before money dried up, as was stated in Oblivion.

As for Blacklight...I think people are getting carried away with their...Headcanon interpretations...
Even if they did put it in, it would never live up to the expectations some of us have created for ourselves.

Do you really think it's not full of nvde, nymphomaniacal woman, free alcohol and magical, refilling Hogwarts tables?

Yo. I'm the guy who's running the Morrowind branch of the Beyond Skyrim uber-mod...thing. Nice to see some folks floating up some of the screenshots and art from around there...

Our plan for the mod is to first tackle northern Velothis District - basically, between that pass (Gates of Veloth) from Refugee's Rest, straight west along the coast to Blacklight, and south to Cormaris View. Blacklight I am planning on being our first big showcase city. http://fc02.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2012/297/4/c/rtm_bugclifftower10_by_transbot9-d5itcvw.jpg, which are now being converted over to the new Dragonborn Redoran ascthetic (surprisingly easy for the models, at this stage). Thornbug homes hanging from cliff side, a corner club designed after a coconut crab, a rather imperial dock district that sprung up from being a major port, and a giant shalk manor/lighthouse are in the plans.

Dragonborn has thrown our lore and writing side into limbo until it comes out with all new juicy tidbits, and we're certainly planning on taking advantage of the new swag that this DLC will have.
Blacklight: Gateway to Morrowind. Port of trade, city of vice. If you're looking for trouble, Outlander - you've found it.
