Blacklight.

This might be pretty far fetched, but perhaps that gate north-north east of windhelm might open up and let us explore just a tiny bit of morrowind and the city of Blacklight. Perhaps the boat we see in the trailer will depart from morrowind's main land. Discuss.

One can only hope so. Alas, I think it is unlikely.

Its unlikely but also is true there is a possibility. That side of the land would be safe from the explosion and its close to solstheim.
We can only hope.

Also, the portion of land is very thin in that part, so (I think) would not take so much work to implement it.

Not too farfetched. Unlikely, but it'd make a good point for where the boat leaves. It's either Blacklight, or Solitude/Windhelm.

Exactly my thoughts about it.

I've resigned to the fact that those gates will never be opened up in DLC and are only there for modders.

I need to get a new job so I can afford a decent PC so I can haz the mods!

I think the gates are actually there, because a lot of people pointed out in Cyrodiil, none of the roads lead to another province.

IT might very well be true that it's unlikely, but think of the possibilities. We might see some real morrowind landscape and even visit a daedric ruin. Blacklight is an interesting place as well.

I thought of the possibilities since Dawnguard was announced. I actually thought it would open up Blacklight.
Same for HF.
Same for DB.
But my hope dims with every DLC.

Well, with Tamriel Rebuilt working on Blacklight for Morrowind, if (and I think it is a VERY big if) Blacklight is included with Dragonborn it'll be interesting...

It might be that some of TR's members are involved with Beyond Skyrim, but beyond that they're separate projects.

What should be the state of the city? I think it survived the explosion and the fire and the lizard invasion . What do you think? We dont have any refference in game I think,

Well, my understanding is that the House Redoran councillors (if any survived) fled to Blacklight after the sacking of Ald'Ruhn, so... maybe.

Ald Ruhn was destroyed by the daedra previous to the eruption I think. But then in Oblivion we also know redoran warriors are fighting nord riders, and blacklight may have been its primary target.

Don't forget the Oblivion Crisis happened a few years before Baar Du. So the councillors could have theoretically escaped to Blacklight, only for the eruption of Red Mountain and subsequent An-Xileel invasion to happen.

Blacklight should be one of the few places not affected too badly by the transliminal invasion, lunar impact, lorkhanic pyroclasm and following lizard incursions.

It's 200 years later. I guess Blacklight should be allright by now.

Maybe, it all depends of the economic state of the dunmer. Remember how they use to live in Gnaar Mok or Hla Oad.... those shacks...

Vvardenfell was very recently opened to colonization by the time of Morrowind.
The 200 years between the eruption of Red Mountain and Skyrim are far longer than the time between the opening of Vvardenfell to the Great Houses and Morrowind, iirc.

Near HM shrine in Oblivion, there was a long mountain path that spanned a decent range of the northern map iirc. I also remember it trailing off going even further north. I think that lead to Skyrim. That's the only road I know of leading out of Cyrodil. But I like how they added roads and gates around Skyrim. I've found like 5 of them. Just kinda neat. Allows immersion I guess.

I REALLY hope they allow us to go there. I've been wanting a new city since Dawnguard... Whiterun and Solitude get kinda stale after a while...
