Was Mordecai really that popular? I never played MP (here's hoping the PC version of BL2 will have a better MP service), but for myself I couldn't manage to get into him. Honestly, I have a hard time playing anyone but Lilith. Between how overpowered she is, and being the hot chick, I would have expected her to be the most common character.

Yeah. I only had one main character and it was Mordecai. I really just like his character design and I barely even used sniper rifles.

This was probably one of the only games that I really loved the sniper rifles in. Actually, this game and CoD:WaW using M-1 Garand with a snipe scope attached.

I liked the perk where it gave you a bunch more ammo. Also the revolvers in this game, the 2-shot ones, I loved those. I had one that regenerated ammo so I built my class around it. 3 revolvers of different elements and a snipe. Pure awesomeness.

Haha nice; I had a similar system. I had a x4 corrosive revolver and a revolver that regenerated ammo. Then I had a x4 fire SMG and an SMG that regenerated ammo. But in BL2, I'm not sure if I want to play Maya or Zero.

I too loved Mordecai. I am loving the "replacement" so far in Borderlands 2. Zero or something right? Not to mention that bird power was amazing. I also played online quite a bit. There were a lot of people playing as him. There were a few Liliths and Brocks but few Rolands that I remember.

I'm leaning towards Zero. I'll play them all, but I'm starting with Zero. Who knows maybe I'll like a different character better. Plus, I still have about half a year to wait... yikes.

I've always felt that one of the best setups is a Siren with the Hellfire. The only things that I have found that can stand up to that for long are enemies with huge fire resistance. I loved that Hellfire so much I kept my still devastating level 20 one well into my second playthrough until I eventually found a better one.

The Hellfire was one of the best setups for all classes. It's pretty much the most overpowered weapon in BL1, no joke.

The Hunter was/is my fave class as well. Lilith 2nd, Roland 3rd, Brick 4th.

Something about the Hunter, where he could just kick butt with revolvers or snipers + if you got his SMG skill up it made a fine backup/alternative weapon. A good, fast, scoped masher revolver+his massive critical bonuses = super deadly. Could never get into Brick's melee, even tho it was powerful, but he could be silly fun with a Launcher (Helix or one of the orange ones) once you got ammo regen for it. Roland was kinda boring...especially if you played solo, like I did/do 95% of the time. Just a general all-purpose character with a turret. I'm hoping the new Commando/Axton will be more fun for solo.

It's one of the few games my spouse likes to replay repeatedly so I've played a lot of Borderlands - we still play - tons of playthroughs with all characters multiple times. Mostly solo but sometimes co-op with hubs.

True, but the Siren is the class that buffs elemental damage and SMG efficiency making the Hellfire particularly effective for her.

One of the things that made me like the Siren so much (especially since I was playing solo) is that her special power is the ultimate OhCrap emergency escape button. The other guys powers didn't seem (at least at low levels) to have that much "save your ass" potential.

Also, terrible with sniper rifles in BL.

Lilith was definitely a close second (especially on Crawmerax runs). But there were a lot of games were there were 4 mordecais running around. They were both the only classes I played as. Mordecai's bloodwing is insanely useful if you decide to invest in it. Hunters FTW

Am I the only one that likes Roland?

OMG, he is hard. It took my friend and I about 3 hours to kill him the first time. We only beat him one other time. I never solo'd him because it would probably be impossible. What's funny is we had infinite money (essentially) until we fought him. It was the first time in days of gameplay with that character that I went below $9,999,999.

There's one of those "cheap" spots you can run to and stand, where Craw & his cronies won't touch you. You need one of those crazy ivan ricochet bullet SMG's to bounce bullets off a rock for it to work, tho, otherwise you can't hit the spot on his back. And about 1/4 of the time you may die trying to run to the "spot." heh. But it does work. I've killed him a lot of times that way. Yet he still hasn't dropped a Pearlescent or whatever color it was, weapon. Gr.

Killing Craw solo any other way....it's not absolutely impossible/can be done, but for most at least, it's too much work/frustrating to bother.

Re:Hunter's bird - I used it mostly as a healing aid. Points in that one skill, toss him out when my health got low, he'd hit & come back, and I'd be at full health. Very useful. Also useful against groups of Psychos sometimes.

1) I am increadibly glad to see not everyone has forgotten split screen.
2) I will be pre-ordering this purely to show support of the style (both graphically and gameplay wise)
3)I now have to get #1 and all the DLC (only played a couple of em)
4) I will now have to get back to gold live membership
5) Suffca and Antibody, I expect you to be there!

That being said, did they revamp the "ghost" chick into a more realistic person?

What platform do you want to play on? Because I still don't have an Xbox

I am definitely getting Borderlands 2, but I've got to get it on the PC. Suffca and Allstar have Steam accounts too, though I don't know what platform they're getting it on...

Spanky and I still need to finish the DLC in Borderlands 1 (I never finished most of the DLC either), before we play Borderlands 2. You asked in a later post if there's a GOTY edition out, there is, at least there is on Steam. It's gone down in price to less than $10 during sales before but it's currently $30. If you did get it on Steam I'd be glad to help your character get to the levels of our characters so you can play the DLC with us.

Yes. Altho some of the in-game prompts may still refer to keyboard keys. It happens on the PC-disc version too. You can probably change/fix that via .ini settings, but we've never bothered.
I use KB/mouse on my PC in my den but we use wireless xbox controller for the pc that's attached to the big-screen TV in the living room. :)

This is what I was thinking of, connecting my computer to my tv and playing it that way. I'll have to look into it. I've been thinking of selling my xbox anyway.

Yes there is, I got mine on a Steam sale a few months ago...it was $8. I love Steam.

Haha, that we do. I don't have it installed right now (installed an SSD and had to wipe my computer), but I'll probably reinstall it over the summer if you get time to play. My friend will be home from college that I played Borderlands with all the time and he'd probably join us.

I also just noticed that I ended my string of characters with "FDD". I'm such a geek/nerd/dork.

Actually, there's a Mac version. It's a Feral Interactive (I think) port, so it's not bundled with the PC version on Steam. You can get it from the App Store, and I think I saw it on Amazon. Of course, it's not nearly as discounted as the PC version because of the whole "separate port" thing.

edit: Ah, Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Borderlands-Game-Year-Mac-Download/dp/B004Z21DJ6/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1330312266&sr=1-1 both as a download and as physical copy. Hadn't realized they actually pressed discs of that version.
