I see there are two gun-based classes, so I wonder how that will work out and if the berserker was implemented into another class or omitted altogether. Gun, melee, magic, sniper seemed like a good diverse team but I trust what Gearbox is doing. But sadly, it seems like the assassin will be the overused character again. I mean, who WOULDN'T want to be badass sword-wielding cloak ninja named Zer0? Like BL1 I'm probably gonna join 100 games where 3 or 4 people are this guy, including myself. Not thrilled the soldier is making a return (as I thought the gunzerker was taking his place) but like I said I'm sure it'll work out.
IGN's Rewind theater of the trailer has some interesting info in their narration.

--They're technically all still guns characters, btw, just like in Borderlands1. The Beserker did just fine with guns, for example, if you wanted to play that way.
--Zero's skill is just different than Mordeci's bird. Zero does not get to modify/find/equip swords, for example...I'd assume that's his default melee weapon. Zero will apparently have a sniper tree.
--The Commando's turret is going to be somewhat different from the Soldier - it'll have short, medium and long range "builds" (including one option, apparently, to be able to "toss it/activate it" at a distance location instead of right at your feet).
I get the impression there will be less skill focus on specific weapons for specific classes, but there may still be a little in there. But hard to say until we have complete character skill trees. Could be a while still. 7 months to go.
