Brotherhood of Steel or Enclave DLC

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 10:33 am

Neither. Neither faction has any major role to play in shaping the Mojave in 2277.

The Enclave's dead and the BoS are hiding in a hole.

Yup, we saw the US government after all that time, what if they are in the same situation? It would be epic to see that there government won and is trying to eradicate the US. You know, kinda like an invasion.

Too big for a DLC.
Would require at least 4 games to work the "entire" story out without it feeling rushed.

I know but it would be a good end to a good series, entire wasteland trying to end a 200 year old fight between the still remnants of communist China and the wasteland of post war America.

I really could do without it.
Fallout might be about war, but it's not about the "pre-war" war continuing.

My opinion is there is no pro to having the enclave back in a DLC in anyway other then elderly remnants.

Actually thats not a bad idea, how about some old remnants who live in a NCR area who in their old age go senile and think they're back in the Enclave. Then there's a couple of things you could do,maybe you could go along with them terrrorizing the area leading to a victory from an NCR assault,or doing things to gain their trust you could some how convince them they arent in the Enclave anymore,or perhaps you could tell them they have orders to change their mission then they start helping the area,a small Enclave controlled town, recruiting people helping some people realize that not everyone that was in the Enclave is bad.

snip

There is already older Enclave remnants you can get to help you, one of them wants to kill NCR (pay back for Navarro and for the hunting down of Enclave).

Running into some more elderly Enclave remnants in a DLC that make a living selling tech as prospectors or some other living in an area away from BoS or NCR. To have them as the main focus of the DLC, I don't like. When you tell them of the other remnants they don't want to help they just want to be left alone. Maybe some have even become members of the Followers of the Apocalypse. Others could have formed their own caravans.

This. Along as I can live near them I don't care, like Moreno said, "Couldn't you get any younger mercenaries." I would love to see a Remnant or too just making a living somewhere, scaving tech, selling EWs? I half expected to see a Remnant in Caesars Camp to be honest, before NV was released in the UK and I saw a wiki page called "Remnants Bunker" I knew. I imagined them to be like the Mandalorians from KoTOR II, scattered, living as mercs and whatnot.

Given how splintered the Enclave was in NV, I suspect their spine is broken. However, I think it would be a great plot line to have a DLC where the Enclave's worst fears about mutants and the spread of Communism came true... Like an invasion of ghoulified Chinese Army regulars from the Final War. And of course, the hero (I like the idea of a Enclave Vault Dweller being the protagonist) would have to find some piece of lost Enclave technology to stop them... The bitter irony of it all would having to work with NCR and BoS to win. Be nice to see some larger Nukes being used against NCR targets.

There is one place the Enclave could have a hidden base... in orbit. In FO3 Broken Steel the Enclave had access to orbital weapons platforms. And with the Alien Abduction DLC, we know space based combat is doable (much to the chagrin of many). Would be a nice irony if the weapon needed to stop an invasion force (or some other threat) is the same one the Vault Dweller had to stop in FO3 Broken Steel.

I don't think a full-on Enclave related DLC would work. They're a very, very small part of New Vegas and they're not even a united force unless you do Arcade's side quest.

I think adding in a couple side quests with them that would be workable after For Auld Lang Syne would be interesting, but not a 5-10 hour long story.

As far as the Brotherhood of Steel.. eh.. Dead Money already touched on the BOS by bringing in Elijah and giving you a little more to do with Veronica as a companion.

Edit: nevermind, I just found out how Boone knows his wife is dead.

Ok. Didn't Chinese spies enter the country but got left behind? CHINESE SPY DLC!!

For real though, I always liked the Enclave no matter how much butthurt they give you. (Remembers Fallout 2 Intro) Those vault dwellers got [censored].

Who would like to see a DLC with one of the two factions, or both? Discuss the pro's and cons of these two most famous fallout factions.

Looks like someone has had an overdose of Fallout 3.

X2.

The Enclave should have never been in FO3, nor should the BoS. They were recycled due to laziness on the developer's parts.

Neither faction played any major role in New Vegas, either. Both groups are dead or dying, get over them.

I am inclined to disagree, for one, the BoS is a huge part of Fallout's storyline, and hopefully always will be, just like the NCR in New Vegas, and I wouldn't mind DLC that involved the Enclave in Mojave in some way, they too have played a huge role in Fallout's story and should always be included in every Fallout game, whether they take a major or minor role. If they were to make a DLC that included the Enclave, I believe Obsidian would give them a minor role, but I doubt they will ever make a DLC that involves them for Fallout: NV, which makes me very sad...

The Enclave didn't have the numbers to survive after Fallout 2, yet they were brought back, if they appear again it should be in a Remnants like role only. They simply don't have the numbers to be a significant threat to peace or whatever.

Neither, I want to see the story continue of the courier so it continues in volumes 1,2,3,4 etc. The BoS and Enclave are too small now to make a major impact, a keen role in Old world blues will be good for the BoS.

Wrong

Fallout- Avoidable
Fallout 2- Avoidable
Fallout:Tactics- Present
The Burned Game- Present
Fallout 3- Pidgeonholed into joining
Fallout:New Vegas- Devs lied, they arent avoidable.

But their role save F:T, burned game, and F3, they play no real role in the series beyond an extra slide.

IMO, the BoS are overrated, well, I like the East Coast ones, but all in all, their an annoyance in my opinion.

Actually the NCR has a role just as big as Caesar's legion and Mr. House in new Vegas. (Although I hope a NCR victory is not cannon because the house always wins)
