Why? They put a bomb collar on you first. It certainly wasn't a welcome with open arms.

Because after you chase off an NCR ranger (note that you could have told him literally anything you wanted, including that the BoS is right there) they just let you into the bunker like everything's normal. Little weird.

Course, I went with Veronica, because she's awesome, and I don't have any issues with that angle.

Of note is the fact that if you tell the Ranger that they're there, he'll immediately take off the collar and toss it away, and then a platoon of Paladins in T-51b with tribeams will show up and kill you.
