Wasn't sarcastic..you're usually well grounded

Buggy, unreliable 3rd party emulators are no substitute.
My first thought when I saw TESO on the big screen behind whatshisface:
"Hey, The Eld...wait. Oh, boy..."
I don't think I have the words to describe my horror at this new development. The only thought that can cross my mind is: are they high? They must be high on something, because I do not see a happy ending with this cross-platform nonsense.
Why shouldn't it be dampened. I had already feared this game was going to easy mode but I was willing to give it the benefit of the doubt. The console market has a way of directing games towards a mass market appeal and that usually means making things less complex. Complexity is fun for me and simplicity is boring. I do not expect that they will make 2 versions of the game, a more complicated pc focused version and the none for consoles.
Do you remember when they showed it? I've watched a recording of the Sony press conference, but somehow must have missed it ...
/edit: Oh, found it ...
Tbh I seem to be one of the few that actually think this is good news
If it will increase the amount of sales wouldn't that mean they get more money to spend on game development such as content updates?
Content updates are notoriously slow on consoles due to Sony and MS keeping tight reins on their update servers.
I think PC version comes first though. THis is foremost designed for PCs.
Well, if the content patches are big enough I don't mind it being a bit slow. It will probably mean they will put more effort on the patches as well, and not just add new tiers of gear and just another dungeon.
But hey, I don't know. It might turn out being the worst decision ever, but I doubt it.
This also has them spending even more money to release the patches/dlc on consoles, and then hiring more team members for console development.
From the way it looks, it sounds like they are going with the idea of all equal, not platform gets an advantage over the others.
You mean besides them already starting with the exclusivity nonsense.
The xbox is notoriously expensive to release anything on because of the "quality assurance" teams and all of that nonsense that go with going through microsofts service. It has nothing to do with the design team, that's just even more expense. I dont know how it works for Sony.
Microsoft will force timed exclusives on all DLC and expansions I can see it happening now. months waiting for new patches because the consoles need to verify them. This will hurt the game more than they realize.
You know, the people who make the content? Somebody has to actually make the content, and get paid to make it. Or does content magically pop out of thin air? But yet again, in case you aren't aware of it, it costs some stupid thousands of dollars JUST to release something on xbox, via the live service.
You do know that Microsoft and Sony are both making it easier to release content on their systems right? That is one of the huge things with both systems. Digital distribution. It won't take as long to get patches through and if it does they essentially just shot themselves in the foot as far as how they say the new consoles are going to be so easy to push content into.
Because the systems share the same architecture you don't really need a separate design team for them. These new systems are not like the 360 and ps3. They are made to have a easier time designing for multiple platforms.
As of now, it's all speculation, and I already mentioned this earlier that it might change, if the content approval system is changed. There's a whole like 1 and a half pages of thread, if you would have scrolled through you'd see i had brought this up already.
That is the new idea of equal. Fair until someone pays extra money for time exclusives and such.
Well, I probably wasn't going to play TESO anyways, but now I'm not even curious.
I feel like a lot of people are still missing the point.
