Oh god, this thread makes my head hurt... The GECK took what, a week to a month to come out after Fallout3?

Just be patient.

But if people aren't allowed to act self-righteously entitled on the Internet, what else is it good for?

(Besides porm.)

EDIT:

Oh look, it's this insulting quip again. Seriously, why is it that people do this? One is not a troglodyte because one prefers to have physical media which cannot be taken away if Valve goes under.

An argument which might just maybe have more weight for a game that doesn't use Steamworks.

(In fairness, I bought a physical copy myself. But only because I had $20 of credit on Amazon from an earlier videogame preorder.)

You do know that you can run TESV.exe without running Steam or Steamworks, right?

Given the situation with being able to run the game using TESV.EXE rather than the game launcher, my argument is entirely valid. Valve could be wiped off the face of the Earth tomorrow and it wouldn't matter.

Steam is much too expensive, physical copies can be bought for 40eu instead of 50 steam asks. And you even get a nice manual that way!

OT. I sure hope they release it soon. The game is awesome but playing it gives me so many great ideas!

I actually buy the DLCs no matter how many mods there are, I'd prob play the game less without any mods available and then I'd care less for DLC and be less likely to buy them, Ive bought every DLC bethesda's ever released, except a few for New vegas, which I never got as impressed with.

it makes sense that they would wait till they release a dlc b4 they release the CK
id say every other decision they made about skyrim was based on how much cash they will get

id prefer a CK rather than a dlc anyday but i just have to wait coz i have no choice in the matter.

Quite simply, no constuction kit Oblivion would have been ebayed years ago. If the CK for Skyrim is pants then I cant see people keeping their disks for very long or console users buying a disk to use modded game versions on their PC.

As soon as the market in second hand disks and console games starts up, sales fall off. So unless Bethesda have suddenly become quite daft and shortsighted we should be ok. However there are a lot of game makers who are short sighted so we shall have to wait and see.

I would imagine that there are enough players out there who have been so used to modded Elder Scrolls games that they wont be interested in a vanilla, limited moddability version of Skyrim. I was that way with Oblivion. I had no intention of buying it until the CS came out. Bethesda would be silly to wait too long before releasing the CK, a few days are a long time in game playing now.

Seems like you are somewhat inpatiant.
Remember that some countries haven't even got the pc version of the game yet (ps3 and xbox360 versions are around but not pc) and have a delayed pc release.
And there are many people of those who already have the game that can't play it.
Bethesda should first make shure that the game is released everywhere and overcome their stock problems, and make the game playable for those who already got it,because the CK is not top priority.

Shure I will use it too when it comes out,but there other things more important to be done first.

I bet that TES will die if the modder doesn't support it....though TES V skyrim is a good game, but couldn't live a long time like TES3 & TES4 did.....

If the developers just want the DLC selling well,it's not worthy to delaying the Construction Sets....

It's true,not just nonsense.

It really does be.

You know if I were Beth, I'd wait a couple weeks just to make sure modders have had a chance to play all the content first. (That should be long enough if we're doing nothing but playing Skyrim full time.) That way there are slightly fewer mods that break quests the authors didn't even know were there, fix things that turn out not to have been broken, etc.. And a better first impression for people venturing into mods, too.

Also more people are waiting on patches than mod tools, by an order of magnitude, so if they put out the CK now more people would be furious there isn't a patch instead than would ever use the CK anyway. They shouldn't ignore the majority of their customers like that by putting the CK first.

The mod community, after all, is known for how long after release it stays alive.

It probably means that they're working to release the Creation Kit, and when they have more information they'll tell us.

Or just coding in their tool to not allow us to mess too much with the inside structure of the game and release a CECS that is working on the allowed fields ... like no modding in new abilities perks or the like , but I actually hope it will be more open allowing us to mod in back attributes and new skills with perks ...

I should think there would be a team for both the CK and for any patching.

This is my main concern right here. And you know, more than likely, as is my intention as well, the first thing most people are going to want to do with the CK is modify the magic system.

With FO3, the toolkit/GECK wasn't even confirmed when the game launched. Give it time.

Wow, astonishing the stupidity flourishing in this thread. The QQ here is equally legendary.

Pardon my french, but are you guys [censored] stupid or something? The people at Bethesda are not some 3rd rate morons. They are fully aware that the entire TES series, since Morrowind, is so successful because it is so mod-able. And they WILL continue to support this and further TES games by making is mod-able.

So maybe they'll delay the CK because they want to make some money by some DLCs? And? It's their right to do so. Save for a few exceptions so far their DLCs always have been good, even amazing.

So what's with all this QQ?
