Crysis 2 available through Steam!

Post » Fri Oct 08, 2010 2:05 am

And the most frustrating part is people who pirate the game almost alway get the game and be able to play it before us(the legitimate buyer).

The world is really unfair isn't it?

How come the game get pirated and playable while we don't even get the pre-loading?
I really need an answer to this.

Because they're stealing the game and not paying for it.... hullo!? Life is unfair when you go by the rules and don't steal sh*t. When you go to heaven God him self will ask you - "did you steal Crysis2 Eternize?" You'll happily reply “no way dude.......... I paid for it”. "In ya go" he'll say.... and just maybe give you a new GTX9900 XXX!

Steam can and does frequently screw over the overseas shoppers by blocking access to purchase preorders or even the game after "world release". Here in Japan, you cant even access the info pages for Crysis 2 on steam. I would've gotten the game through there and saved myself 30bucks shipping(plus the delay/slowdowns in deliveries due to the disaster we're dealing with here). Instead I'll be getting the game late, paying more, and generally not a happy camper over the situation.

I wish EA would tell Steam to let folks like us here in Japan be able to preorder.

Why does steam say the game will be unlocked 10am Tuesday and not midnight?

PRE-LOAD lol

Some people hugging their retail box while there is still no sign of pre-load.
The distribution system surely a mess.

The distribution system surely a mess.People are whining to much. This is not a Valve game and so a preload was never going to be gauranteed. And even if you've already got a DVD, you cannot activate until release day.
You can gaurantee that there are going to be a hell of a lot more complaints on release day - 9GB is a sizeable d/l. It'll be interesting to compare who can handle this better - Steam or EAgames. Think we know the answer to that;)

I'm kind of confused as to the server situation cause people are giving conflicting answers.

If I bought a retail version, i.e. a DVD, and install it on my PC, I will access to servers with which only people who bought a DVD can play on. (?)

If I buy it through steam, only people who buy it through steam can play on steam servers. People say that steam has a better connection reliability and steam is where the "pros" play. (?)

Can I purchase the DVD version, and run it through steam and thus acquire steam servers? If this is even an issue.

Or does the fact that crysis 2 have dedicated public servers make this entire post useless?

Someone please clarify!

Steam only provides the game. Not the servers. If there are steam sponsored servers.. they will be joinable by anyone

Can someone tell me if Crysis 2 has trophy support on steam? I've pre-ordered the DVD version, but I know you can activate some games on steam.

I honestly don't understand why, in nowadays, the game was released 3 days before ONLY in USA... C'mon guys... the world is not the same like 10 years ago... The cracked game will be around the planet before the 'official' release for the rest of the world, on march, 25th... Sad decision taken by EA probably... Shame on you!
