Please let it be a turnbased (or at least highly characterskilldriven, tactical and slowpaced - instead of twitchbased) cyberpunk RPG with the same narrative spirit as The Witcher series. Please let it not be some sort of Mass Effect-esque actiony popamole borefest. Please CDPR, do not [censored] this up - Larian is already doing http://www.pcgamer.com/2012/05/28/divinity-original-sin-announced-top-down-rpg-to-address-frustrations-with-divine-divinity/ and making an oldschool ISO/TB RPG for their next Divinity title, show us that the RPG market can handle more than repetitive FPS/TPS action titles.

I predict a shooter, but with far more intensive skill focuses and lots of gadgets and cybernetics. Combine with their astounding characterization that easily blows Bioware and many novels out of the water and we could have one hell of a special game.

It is likely, but I still seriously hope it will not be a "twitchshooter" with combat similiar to TW2 or Mass Effect or Fallout 3/NV/PoS; and that they come up with something (at least a bit) different from what we get from every RPG these days combatwise.

Half Blade Runner, half Max Headroom? That'd do me, though it's admittedly reading far too much into a single piece of concept art.

Remember they acquired the studio? team? (I can't remember) and the IP Them a few years ago? This is the result of that. Not that I'm saying it'll be Them. But Them will have informed whatever this is.

Which probably means it's twitch-based, UnDeCafIndeed.

Ya.

 New CDProjekt game and IP!

Can they do nearly as well without a prefabricated world and story?

What is this Them you speak of? The only thing I can relate it to is the old 50's scifi horror movie about giant ants.

Not quite understand what you meant. All game worlds are fabricated at some point, even Witcher series weren't historical. Why would you have doubt with their ability to fabricate a world and story?

CD Projekt didn't create the world and story of the witcher series on their own, it was based on a book. He is asking if can they create a great story and world themselves instead of basing it on someone else's work (I think anyway).

It won't be turn based, that's for sure. They do action RPG's.

It wasn't Them, it was They.

Am I the one only one who is totally unmoved to anything even approaching excitement by the prospect of any game represented by a cliche gun/futuristicish shades/mohawk combo picture?

It's a bit of promotional art. I'm not judging till I see more.

It looks like an old Shadowrun picture. Or maybe it was Twilight 2000. Either way it looks like an old 80's book and paper RPG image.

I loved the Witcher series so much. Whatever this is, I hope it'll turn out just as good :)

Hopefully. The more 80s cyberpunk, the better.

That first teaser pic seems incredibly dull. The only way I can see the world being interesting is with massive amounts of self parody. Though it's wrong to have an opinion on the game and world already, so I'll hold off.

I love 80s cyberpunk. If that's what they're aiming for ... thankyoumoreplease. :)

It's not really that cliche when it points out towards prospects of an RPG (from a decent developer) - otherwise I agree with you, alone the image is quite unremarkable. I wouldn't have blinked twice before forgetting the whole thing, if the concept art had been about any kind of fanasy, or something not related to RPG's.

At least back in the day, they had a girl and a fast car in the http://valhalaroleplayers.files.wordpress.com/2009/06/cyberpunk2020_big.jpg. They hadn't got the hang of the http://case.jorune.net/jeux/rpg/cyberpunk.jpg back then though.
