when bethesda made that flying vampire lord .... was it really flying , i mean it looked more like it was hovering off the ground then flying :confused:

Now anyone think Rune from the Thieves Guild has anything to do with the Falmer? Someone posted concept art of a Falmer "king" or something holding a baby and if you met Rune, you heard his mysterious backstory...

Yeah, I remember that picture. And the concept art of a Chaurus-riding Falmer that said "uses sound of baby crying as lure." That, combined with the child crying anination slots found in the latest patch, makes me think there's definitely gunna be some kind of baby-snatchin' involved.

not really relevent to this thread but i once read a manga about vampires that were Proper vampires and deffinitly not cuddly or sparkly lol there bite would paralyse its victims who would piss/[censored] and cry out of all holes since there bodies couldnt control thereselves.it was seriously awsome atho the art was a tad dated but it grew on you lol.plus the setting of it gave you that creepy feeling of oh whats gonna happen next :ohmy:

edit:just wish i could remember the name of it i'd quite like to re-read it and maybe see new chapters.

Hardly. Now that he's separate from Sheogorath he has rebuilding to do. He's got to create a new realm and everything. Besides, he has no quest in Skyrim.

On topic: Yeah, can't wait for Dawnguard.

Meaning: Twilight brought flocks and flocks of angst, scenester teenagers to the book stores and to the theaters earning itself lots and lots of money. The entertainment industry saw this and decided to profit by making television shows and books about vampires... So, now, everywhere you turn, it's vampire this and vampire that. It's truly overwhelming.

If the people ragging on the Vampire lovers are anything like me then it's not because of Twilight, that's just one of the major things that have been making them seem well gay. In the last 5 years or so media outlets everywhere have been Vampire this and Vampire that with movies and lame ass tv shows, that crap is old and most of us are tired of it. Of course if you're a teeny bopper then you probably don't know what I'm talking about since your still wet behind the ears. But Vampires and Werewolves are just to overly played out from just about every angle possible, and most of the people would rather have some actual good content added then horse manure like that.

So good for them for following the media trend of uselessness, but we better get some actual real and good content not just this Vampire crap. If that's what floats your boat then good for you, but unlike Morrowind Vampirism isn't a big deal in Skyrim so why do we need to make it one. I'm not saying your bad for wanting or liking Vamp garbage, or Werewolf garbage but the world has seen enough of it to make it want to spew green pea soup, I'd rather have something better.

I disagree with everything you just said. I'm a big fan of vampires especially in tes because they are proven more powerful than garbage normal people. So I very much hope it is just about vampires which is probably the case since most of the released info is dealing with vampire stuff. I still watch vampire tv shows and movies why? Because they're fun and offer kind of a darker side to main characters rather than the goodie garbage characters I see in just about everyone else. I mean like someone else said...just dont buy the dlc since its most likely about vampires.

I love vampires as well but I have to disagree on the last thing: the "badass anti-hero" is far more overdone lately in my opinion. Most writers these days aren't talented enough to design a character that's "lawful good" without making him one dimensionsal, so they go the easy way out and either make a character that's some variation on the whole anti-hero concept or make a villain that's crazy evil without adding any depth to his character. That's what I've been seeing at least

It's ok if you hope so, and I too hope that the vampire lord is going to be epic, not to mention that I hope he looks different from his game jam video self. That the dlc is going to be solely about Vampires is unlikely though, at least judging by the files found in the patches.

If you look at the complete list of files that were found (more than 120 files), you will see, that there is only a total of 7 files mentioning vampires and 3 for coffins (including a coffin puzzle), while there are also 11 animation files for the snow elf prince, and 3 for a child crying. The child crying is very likely Falmer related, since we have seen concept art of a Falmer leader holding a human baby, and as has been mentioned a concept art about how the Falmer immitate children crying. So there are already 14 files related to the Falmer as well. So unless the Falmer are vampires, and it's all the same, there will be other stuff included in this dlc.

There are also files mentioning the elder scroll. There are so many possibilities, maybe we get to see glimpses the past again? Or do we use it for something else entirely this time?

I really hope the vampire thing is just a side bit of the DLC, depth for the players who want it. I dislike playing a vampire and I hope I am not forced to be one in the DLC as we are forced to be a werewolf in the companions quest line.

I hope the story has more to do with some threat and not just vampires which have been around for a while and do not seem to threaten the world.

You know what i'm most intrigued about in the files? The crying baby and holding animations.
I hope it gives us more of a human (i say human...) aspect of the game, rather than whacking monsters with a stick.
What if you have to help a family flee, or even survive as vamps? Maybe the family are snow elfs?

I am all about Vamps and what have you but I can assure you, with the utmost certainly, it will not be JUST about that. It may be the focus of the MQ for the DLC, but there will be a ton of other non related content. Even if you are not interested in Vamps at all, there will be plenty of stuff for everyone to do.

I have played hundreds upon hundreds of hrs in Skyrim without triggering any dragons. I see no reason why the DLC will be any different with Vampires.

The Snow Elves are only generic by the name. Everything else about them is unique to Skyrim. Whereas the vampires are just plain generic through and through.

And I don't really care if they are in the DLC or not.

Hey guys I have been out of the loop for a while (since ESO was announced, I was letting the forum cool down)

Now I come back and it seems everyone is convinced dawnguard is about vampires.

There was some evidence before I left but not enough to determine vampires were the focus. Did I miss something important or has speculation just been growing?
