Dawnguard in my future? Doubtful...

Post » Fri Nov 16, 2012 7:57 pm

I am a PC player. Always have been, always will be. I've been an avid ES fan since Morrowind. I've purchased every addon pack and DLC, for Morrowind, Oblivion, Fallout and NV. With great anticipation, I've been eagerly awaiting the first DLC for Skyrim (which is, by far, Bethesda's greatest game to date). I couldn't wait to get back to Skyrim, to get lost in the story and adventure, and share tales of those adventures with friends over a good cup of coffee. Unfortunately, I've read or heard EVERYTHING about Dawnguard from friends and (unmarked) spoilers around town and across the web before I've even had a chance to purchase it. I feel that the fun is already gone. I'm very dissatisfied with how Bethesda treats the people who made them the gaming giants they have become. Way to forget the little people...

It's Bethesda's fault that people are discussing Dawnguard? What?

So you think it's Bethesda's fault you looked at spoilers?

Exactly the kind of criticism I was expecting on a forum. Guess what, kids! this was directed toward Bethesda, not you. Go feel high and mighty somewhere else.

What do you want Beth to do to make this better for you then? Make a time machine?

It's nobody's fault but your own that you looked at spoilers.

I just want Bethesda to realize what they've done to their longest and best customers. Think of it as Ford saying "We have this super awesome new sports car. Look how awesome it is! But, only Japan is going to get it this year. Next year, when it's not as cool, America can have them too."

@badantjoka4k - Thank you for giving someone else's insight. Your lack of thought made a world of difference.

Buddy...you're the one who went on the internet and looked up plot points...........Skyrim has been out 6 months, I haven't finished the main story, and I still don't know how it ends....just don't look up the storyline and you're good. Blaming bethesda for YOU going out and looking up the plot is just ridiculous.....Because it's Bethesda's fault for not taking peoples right to free speech away....pfff yeah right.

umm, ok. I doubt you know every little detail about it, and you still get the enjoyment of actually playing it. And microsoft payed for the xbox getting it first, if sony or...steam(?) would have shelled out more cash they would have gotten to sell it first. Its economics, bethesda is a business, they exist to make people money

All is said.
Sadly.
Perhaps Bethesda need some polish mentality as we're so far from the economical empathy of a studio like CD Projekt.

You're blaming Beth for your inability to control your curiosity? It's your own fault you decided to look up the plot points of Dawnguard and spoil it for yourself. You're simply complaining because you have absolutely nothing else to do until Dawnguard is released for the PS3 and PC. Besides, I bet when it is released, you're still gonna buy it.

Wow I don't even touch the storyline, I barely know anything about Resident Evil 6. I mainly just look at armor and weapons and thats it, you should handle your mouse more carefully.

Ha ha. Moron looks at spoilers and then blames Bethesda for it. Man that's gotta be the absolutely stupidest reason for complaining about Bethesda that I have seen. Blame your friends for telling you. Blame yourself for having so little control that you couldn't stay away from the forum or other media sources that talked about the game. Blaming Bethesda is just dumb.

I stayed away from the forum and any media related to Skyrim until I completed the DLC one time. Nothing was spoiled. I loved it. If it had been spoiled I would have noone to blame but myself. Use some self control next time and stop blaming everyone else for your problems.

Oh look, a lack of self control which is someone elses fault, with some platform elitism thrown in for good measure!

*sigh*

Blame someone else for your own lack of self control
*facepalm*

Pretend you are a fat kid. Now pretend you are supposed to be on a diet but you ate 10 donuts. Do you blame your parents for buying the donuts or do you blame yourself for not having the self control to not eat them? Think about it.

I finished the MQ of the DLC from the DG side and I've read alot about the play from the Vampire side. Of Skyrim itself I'v probably read about just about every questline and side quest, doesn't mean that I won't play them. I haven't finished the DB, but I know how it ends, same with TG except I have finished it, I still plan on finishing DB. IF you can't handle the spoilers then you shouldn't read about them and should tell your friends politely that you don't want to know.

It's like watching the movie before you read the book, their is still alot of content in the book that never makes it to the movie. Same with the watching trailer's, reading walk throughs or talking about it with friends. Their is still alot left out, even if they told you everything they know.

It's a bit like me looking up on the internet the plot, ending and twists in a film I was going to see anyway. Then blaming said website for publishing that content.

Ah yes, the Bethesda Defense League excuse machine is running rampant in this thread but then the OP did set himself up for abuse.

I've heard enough that I'm not particularly interested in it for it's own sake. I'll eventually get it, though (probably on sale), if for no other reason than because future mods I'll want to play use resources from it.
