Dawnguard PS3 & PC Release Date [merged topics] 2

You have to check something to download the beta. It's not automatic like normal patches.

Oh i see. You mean participate in the beta program via profile settings as you would participate in general Steam updates?

Actually, all that says is that it that nothing could possibly come out until after 30 days. It very carefully avoids promising it will come out at all. I would assume that's because they wanted to see how it performed before they decided whether to release it at all on the other platforms.

Bethesda doesn't have the balls for that. Their games would be pirated on PC from now until the end of time and receive horrible sales regardless of mod support or not. The PS3 sales would stay low too. I know for a fact I'd never buy another Beth game unless they did a major turnaround on their relationship with MS and their philosophy regarding platforms and general game quality (say, did things like DICE and CDPR).

Correct.

Well that's good right, shows Bethesda is still doing stuff about other game platforms without it being Dawnguard.

Right?

Yeah, i just updated.

Well then, i hope this sparks at least a tiny bit of optimism into the release of Dawnguard. Might be here sooner than we thought.

How long will the 1.7 patch be in Beta testing though? as i have no doubt it fixes a few things and breaks a few others.

Maybe that is the point of the tests to make sure it doesn't break anything and acts more of a cure than a poison.

That would be something new considering it has yet to happen with any of the past beta patches.

The amount of time it's in Beta is irrelevant if Bethesda doesn't bother to actually fix the problems the Beta test uncovers, and given Bethesda's recent track record (Dawnguard, patch 1.6,) I'm not that hopeful about this patch doing what it's supposed to without mucking things up.

We have to remain optimistic, all the patchs that Beth have brought out have fixed all major problems before sure some caused even more so, but those were fixed, it's just trying to get the right code and practising it, they probabily wouldn't know theres a bug since it could take another hundred or so hours to locate it. Which is what we the players do we play the game they find out about it they fix it :-)

I know i'm not one to talk about optimism since I can be a moody guts but, I like to remain as optimistic as long as possible

Considering the whole mess of bugs that are still in the game 8 months after release, I don't think you can really say "they find out about it and they fix it." They fix some things sure, but for every bug they manage to fix, there's about 20 others they ignore and another 2 or 3 that emerge from their latest "fix."

At this point, I'm just wondering why they don't reverse-engineer the Unofficial Skyrim Patch mod to apply to the consoles. Seems like it would save them a lot of money and headaches.

I don't know I don't work for Bethesda there will be one reason or another. But i'm not sure, i'm not a technical program designer perhaps there is something stopping them from doing it as I'm sure they don't want to be always fixing patches that we get ... for free, if they could have done that they probabily would have and saved themselves alot of time.

But either way, atleast they're attempting to do this. I'm sure alot of other companies just wouldn't bother with so many patches and such.

Sure enough alot of games don't have so many bugs but as people have said with a game as big as skyrim there are bound to be some problems, and atleast bethesda are trying to fix all the problems, and they are juggling around patches, dawnguard, designing future dlc and getting in their voice actors to read new things. So who knows what, Bethesda may have their hands full at this crucial point.

But again, i'm not sure. now i'm not backing them, I admit they could probabily do a few things better which i could easily point out..... about werewolves...... because I svck at anything else in regard. But none the less i'm thankful for what i've got.... even MORE thankful when i get Dawnguard so i will no longer feel insecure.

Lets look at the facts:

The 31st of july is a Tuesday.
PSN/steam updates every Tuesday.
New games are coming out in august/september. (haven't checked exact dates)
Bethesda Likes money.
Contract ends on the 26th.

I don't conprehend why Bethesda, Zenimax, or whoever is pulling the strings would delay dawngaurd and release it after other games came out. Knowing that people will put their money else-where.

What did they do with the fallout DLC to lead people into thinking that skyrims DLC will be handled in the same way. (Besides the 360 exclusivity period). Please help, I'm trying to put the pieces together with only limited information.

Honestly Skyrim has so far lost the race to hold my attention, since the summer sale I have various Hitman Games, the Assassin's Creed series, the GTA series, Arkham City, Saint's Row: The Third, The Bioshock Series, The Deus Ex Series, and to top it all off Im still having tons of fun in The Secret World. Sorry beth but something tells me Im not going to jump to buy dawnguard.

Deus Ex Human Revolution was the last video game my grandfather bought me before he died on April 1st o,,o so that game has alot of sentimental attachment to me as well as being a great game.

But anyway. I know the feeling AND Transformers is comming out on August 31st. But I am still getting Dawnguard for the sake of my wolfy :-)

Secret World. That game... i'd like to say so many things about it, but it'd just turn into another wonderful conspiracy theory.

However, me personally, I've already played and own most of the games that are "top in interest" on the Summer sale, so i'll more than likely be buying DG just because modders will be able to do so much with it when it does eventually come out.

There's simply too much opportunity for modders to make new, insanely unique things with some of the new armor sets/features that will be coming in the DLC.

All I want is a word from Bethesda July 26th when we can expect to see DG on PC. If they say Septemeber at least I would know there is no reason to even think about Skyrim much less DG for a very long time.

Need to replay that. One of the best games to come out in the last few years.

I've put Skyrim on hold until they get the dialogue bug sorted out. When September comes around Skyrim will be gathering a lot of dust if it still isn't fixed. There's too many other games that come out through the year.
