Is Dawnguard really worth $20?

Wasn't the Shivering Isles only $29?

How so?
Horse armor...had one quest, dawn guard has 36, horse amour also only added...horse armor, while dawnguard adds a massive amount of other stuff...

Your comparing two pieces of junk to make your first statement valid..

My first statement was "I would pay 30 dollars for it", I is a OPINION.

Odd, I got it on launch day and I'm fairly certain that it wasn't $40.
Either way, I still don't think Dawnguard was worth the price.
It was neat but kind of felt tacked on and unfinished, at least to me.
That and the lack of attention to the beast races kind of made me stop playing Skyrim altogether.

Exactly.

I think he's simply failing to grasp that his argument is completely subjective and therefore moot.
The simple reality of it is that Dawnguard, based on past DLCs sold, is an increase in the price-per-content ratio, and as self-interested consumers, we should be working against this, not in favor of it....

Not shivering Isles.. Shivering Isles is probably triple dawnguard..

and to be honest.. Bethesda is a scammer.. Whoever prices their stuff is in another dimension I bet half the time.. Bethesda made people pay for Horse Armor... What does that tell you..
Wasn't that Horse Armor thing Microsoft's idea? I don't think Dawnguard is worth 20 dollars, but the price is what it is for this DLC. I'll just get it during the winter.

The concept of payed content was Microsoft's idea. Bethesda just came up with something was would have been free if it wasn't for Microsoft wanting to see how DLC with a price tag would turn out for them.

Bethesda was coming from Expansion packs to 2mb dlc for money? I hardly believe that Horse Armors exsistance would have came about if it weren't for Microsoft.. Bethesda's last expansion pack was Shivering Isles.. If it was merely a test.. Shouldn't the other DLC's following it have been free?

To each his/her own.

It was worth it to me.......................x360 and now PC.

This is only a game.....I happen to enjoy it!

I'll also buy the next DLC for each when it comes out.

Alright......................Steam download at 99%

See you folks later.

Hope the PS3 issues get workied out for those that use that platform.

Done and done!

Actually, they did small DLC that was free back in the Morrowind days. All of Morrowind's non-expansion stuff is free. They even have a one armor set DLC for that game. Games used to just have free DLC.

If you want proof of these free DLCs, look at the downloads on UESP for Morrowind. The original pages for them no longer exist, sadly.

i think so, it adds two questlines (granted they amount to about the same thing) a unique new type of weapon, a handful of new spells, a super vamp form, and the ability to craft arrows. Its easily double the size of kotn, if that effects your opinion or not. I spent a good 15-20 hours on it, and i imagine i played it the way most people will, with fast travel and horse riding. And still have a couple of side quests in its new area to complete if i choose. Also it adds the most fleshed out follower in skyrim

I'm guessing Bethesda priced it in comparison to the playtime of other DLC on the market but compared to the value we got out of the main game it's overpriced

Morrowind was for PC first, so yeah. Pretty sure the older Halo games had free DC even on the consoles.

Thats what i was reffering too.. Expansions packs to small DLC's.. Bloodmoon and that other one.. But what is in motion tends to stay in motion.. So they probably should have released free things after that.. But instead they took things not worth the money and sold it to people.. Its kinda like Microsoft selling avatars... Its not worth it.. To be honest.. Ya there is a price for everything... Bethesda lacks the knowledge to identify that price... And for dawnguard it is not worth the money in terms of competition from other game studios but merely worth it in terms of what bethesda can provide.. another studio could have made something way more amazing for a cheaper price.. I believe Dark Souls is releasing a new DLC soon.. 15 hours of more content was said.. I have a feeling it will be cheaper.. Dawnguard has like 10 hours of story and 5 hours of sidequests.. ik it has 10 hour story but not sure about side quests...

2 new quest lines, interesting new places to explore, new achievements, more Falmer content, new weapons and armor, new werewolf content, an all new transformation, new enemies, 2 large areas to explore and about 12 to 20 hours of content on each side. I'd say that's worth 20 dollars. I think Dawnguard was well worth my time and money and actually helped me get back into Skyrim after vanilla Skyrim went stagnant and boring.

I agree that Dawnguard should have just been priced less. I wish we had free DLC again, but that won't be happening probably ever. Thanks for explaining your side of the whole thing, because I was a bit confused. Most companies seem to be having trouble knowing what to price their DLC in most cases. Multiplayer stuff should not be 2 bucks on PSN. At all. It should be 39 cents if it is just some mode or something.

Bioshock's DLC and almost all DLC is priced weirdly. Why would anyone pay for Multiplayer only stuff that is priced above 1 dollar if the thing is not multiple NEW ideas for the multiplayer? It's irritating, and I don't even bother with non-Tekken multiplayer!

What do you think? I can't decide if I want to pay 19,99€ for this DLC as I can't even play the way I enjoy it the most, first person view (talking about vampire lord).
I never play third person view, kinda ruin the whole RPG for me and that is also why I don't ride horses. So what you say?
