20 $ (us dollar) is not 20 € (euro)!
God dammit!

20 € = 24,43 $

I'm waiting, personally. The exclusivity deal, complete lack of communication on when we'd actually get it, the fact that numerous game-busting bugs are still present (like random vampires attacking towns and wiping out tons of NPCs), the way the last two beta patch periods have gone on PC, and the fact that it's $20...meh. If you're on PC (which I assume you are, since you're asking about this today), I'd at least wait until the USKP gets a Dawnguard component out and some of the nastier bugs are quashed.

20 DOLLAR is not 20 EURO! God dammit!
20 eruo = 24,43 US dollars!

I have a feeling Kaelin was linking you to that thread for a discussion on whether or not Dawnguard's worth purchasing, not to debate the current U.S. dollar to Euro exchange rate. Calm down.

I dont know. As a PS3 user I might give you a decent reply after 2 or 3 months from now, depends when Bethesda decides to... give another empty-promised status update about why no updates nor DLC is on PS3

No get it in the sales. I've played it and it isn't worth a third of the game or more price it is right now.

I just bought it, but I'm holding off on the install until I hear about the bug situation and compatibility with some essential mods.

FWIW, though $30 is a bit expensive for a DLC (and should probably be Shivering Isles-worthy to get that asking price), I feel like I got way more than my money's worth on the base game, so I don't mind if DLCs are a little overpriced. As long as they provide a reasonable amount of content, of course.

I would have thought the merits and criticisms of Dawnguard discussed in that other thread would have been of some interest to you. I'm sorry to hear that because you must pay the equivalent of $4 dollars more the content of that thread is irrelevant.

Expect KotN. Do not expect SI size or you'll be very disappointed.

I really wish Bethesda would release one last true expansion pack. I know it isn't as financially viable as smaller DLCs but it would be nice for one last hurrah. Playing the Shivering Isles felt like playing a brand new Elder Scrolls game. Remember the Butterfly Room? Everybody remembers the Butterfly Room.

I thought the price was fair. This is, however, very subjective.

Skyrim cost 39,99 euro for me.
So I assume that Dawnguard has 1\2 of the content Skyrim already have? As it cost just half as much, 19,99 euro.

No, simply because it's not a major DLC. For me Dawnguard should cost 5 or 10.

I am trying to make up my mind. I was expecting it to be something like $10, since it appears to be around the level of content as Knights of the Nine...
i think it was worth it

So, while adding more than KotN it should be cheaper (or equal in price at most)?

I don't know anything about Knights of the Nine because Skyrim is my first game in the series. I just considered Dawnguard on its own. That for me the quality presented in Dawnguard doesn't equal to its price. Not that it should be free, though.

Todd Howard is a liar. He promised in interviews that Skyrim would get shivering isle - sized DLCs.

They overcharge for lesser content because they are greedy. They do it because they can.

This is the same company that had the audacity to charge for horse armor.

I also don't play in third-person view but I'm not going to play as a vampire either. I'm a first-person player and those are the games I buy. I will ride a horse occasionally but I miss first-person on that too. I understand how strongly you feel about the pov and if they keep forcing third-person, there will probably be something I take a pass on...sadly. I've been asking if there's enough content for the Dawnguard choice and have been reassured that there is. I think you'll have a great time if you get it but if you want to wait until the price goes down, it will eventually. :tes:

Nobody said it was fool. Calm yourself...we just don't want all of these strikingly similar threads filling up the board. Make sense?

The DLC is very pricey. But I wanted the VL form so I got it. Playing through it now its enjoyable, the story could use some work IMO. I still wish this DLC is was more meaty though. The amount of bugs I got far exceeds the amount of content in the game. :(

Don't play as a vampire then.

I mean there must not be anything else in this DLC other than being a vampire...

Like I said in the last thread. I wanted the VL form so I got dawnguard. Its enjoyable but the story could use some work(I found it to be very cliche). And the amount of bugs I received far exceeds the amount of new content. But that's just for me. Might be different for you.

I believe it was well worth the 20$. I'm very satisfied, it adds a decent amount of content for an acceptable price imo

Thank you, I have decided to let Skyrim continue to collect dust and avoid buying Dawnguard as there is already enough bugs.

They didn't have the decency to fix Wood Elf's most awesome hair, it is missing texture on the right side.
Always texture missing somewhere or objects not in the right place.

Well I'm still hopeful that they can patch this somehow. A majority of the bugs I'm experiencing was reported by the beta-testers yet bethesda did nothing.
