Dawnguard is the best dlc you have made yet bethesda!

Post » Fri Nov 16, 2012 1:04 pm

Im loving this dlc so much! great new content and I love the dawnguard side of building up a faction and love the characters on the vampire side. Very well written quests. This is why you need to hire writers bethesda. I know when TES6 comes out you wont be able to have alot of good storys like this since you only got like afew good writer devs on your team.

Btw you need to market your dlc better! My friends didnt even know there any skyrim dlc. They dont use forums.

Edit:

Guys im sorry, I have changed my mind. I wrote this before I finished the dlc. The ending was rushed and really bad it has turned me off the dlc. You cant even upgrade the strongholds. Most of the npcs in faction dont even realise your the leader. Its skyrims base guilds all over again.

I was expecting content after being the leader since I thought this would be the chance bethesda had to show us a skyrim guild that wasnt rushed due to deadlines, Yet sadly this dlc was still rushed at the end and you get the same feeling as you do when you beat skyrim main quest and collede of winterhold faction.

I wouldn't say its their best. One of them, for sure, but not top of the pile.

Glad you are enjoying it. I removed the first post because it was obnoxious and rude and the member should know better. A general rule of thumb - nothing to add but a spammy rude remark? Don't post.

I consider it the best DLC, next to Bloodmoon! The others are too boring.

I consider Shivering Isles neck in neck with this. SI probably wins by a little, but Dawnguard is action packed and amazing.

This, except I think Bloodmoon may be better. My choice may change once I play Dawnguard though, it looks amazing.

Shivering Isles and Bloodmoon would be hard to top they both hold the record at a tie Shivering Isles was huge and rich in content Bloodmoon was smaller than the Shivering Isles but it was still large and rich in content. So Dawnguard will have to beat both of those story wise and content wise for it to rank at the top of the expansion list here and I think that will be a feat in itself. We will see.

I knew Dawnguard wouldn't dissapoint. Bethesda has really done a good job on Elder Scroll DLC. And this one is much akin to KOTN with the obvious option of joining the other side. They even tossed in some really holy looking spells, very cool!

never played morrowind, but between skyrim and oblivion so far the best dlc imo is shivering isles, then dawnguard. but yes it is fantastic!

I haven't played Dawnguard yet but it will be hard to dethrone Shivering Isles and the ones from Morrowind as my favorites. Shiverind Isles was just amazing and playing the ones from Morrowind was unlike anything I've ever seen at that time. Dawnguard has potential to be a favorite so we'll see.

so far volkihar and dawnguard have both been just stunned by the sheer size of them. and how amazing they look. haven't been to the soul cairn yet so idk about that. but shivering isles just. just wow. soon as the door dissolved and i saw the night sky of the isles it took me another year maybe year and a half to get bored of it. whenever i play oblivion now thats the first place i go.

Im glad to see positive comments. Im worried a bit about the content, I mean, cool new vamp and wolf forms/perks are nice, but alot seems to ride on 3 areas only (2 castles, and the SC). I guess I really need to wait to see before I assume its really small.

I'm just hoping for New Vegas-like addons with tons of stuff that could almost be standalone games, I guess. Maybe my bar is set too high.

There's also a very large area called the "vale".

you have to be actually transformed into vampire lord form to see the vampire perk tree, and same for the wearwolf

I'll reserve final judgement until I've finished at least one side of the story (I doubt I am half way through the Volkihar side of it) but so far I'm loving it. It certainly has the potential.

Great so far. I'm playing the Dawnguard side with my robed Altmer mage. I'm doing the Wolf Queen Awakened quest for the Turn Undead spell, and the DLC has added content to that.

Nothing can stand up to Shivering Isles but Dawnguard would be #2 in my book
