Dlc better not be online download only...

My spelling and grammar errors did not detract anything from what I said. I merely spoke truth. I just wanted to know how he had internet but no access to xbox live. Anyways sorry for offending you.
Apology accepted.

For Oblivion & Fallout 3 they put the DLC on disk so people without internet could get it, for New Vegas they didn’t... you had to buy the complete version. So nobody knows what will happen with Skyrim, they may and they may not.

Um what? Fallout New Vegas was the same as Oblivion and fallout 3, you either buy the DLC through PSN or buy the Ultimate Edition/Game of the Year Edition and get all DLC on disc. Dunno what you're talking about,

While it's true not ALL DLC was done this way, most of the huge DLC or "expansions" if you prefer were on disk as add-ons. So no it was not just included on PSN/XBL or in the Ultimate or GOTY editions.

its called Downloadable Content lol. It's going to be online only until a GOTY edition gets released.

Get a silver account, you dont need to pay for it, and if ur running of a limited connection, get more MB's the month it comes out lol. Or get a wireless hook up an try an bum a connection off someone around u to download the content.

All you need is an internet connection, which you have unless your at a library or somethin. But you don't need xbox live gold. You may have to wait a week but i think thats only with newly released demos. If your modem is far away from your xbox then you can get a 50-foot cord at wal-mart OR a wireless network adapter. They don't do it like the old days and sell it on disk too.

Yeh...but they were released on disc about 3 months or so after the DLC was available.
So the Skyrim DLC will probably be available on a disc...some day.

Just sell your original Skryim = money.

Money + Money = Game of the Year Edition.

Know i agree with mostly everyone else. There is no DLC without the DL....so you need to either get xbox live or buy a PS3 and get free online :/......

I'd rather have two disks than have one disk and 10 extra dollars

a very very small percentage?

Certainly people from US, Europe, Canada, Russia, China don't exactly have a horrible infrastructure can make online content only viable and has for several years, 3rd world countries are not the main selling spots of games hell we are at the point games require a internet connection because of the release now patch later thought process we see devs do either due to time restraints or stopping used copies/new copy benefits.

Anyways as drag said DLC = Downloadable content. Originally yes any new add ons especially minor will only be accessible through downloading it. The GOTY may or may not include EVERY little add on it will include the first main content package.

umm.. thanks for agreeing with me? You said exactly what i did.

That was another option but the game of the year edition of oblivion had Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine on the same disc, same as all the dlc for fallout 3 and fallout new vegas.

Now if you were pointing out to OP not all of the dlc's came on separate discs and mostly they come included on 1 disc then I'd agree totally but my copies of Fallout 3 GOTY Edition, Elder Scrolls 4 oblivion Game of the Year Edition on PS3 and FNV UE says otherwise.

What does that have to do with my original point which was that with Fallout 3 and Oblivion there were ways to get some or most of the add-ons without internet and without buying the complete package... Fallout New Vegas there was not. So only BS knows if they will do that for Skyrim.

DLC = Downloadable Content.

All the Oblivion DLC was only available via download.

What you're talking about are the expansion packs, and they're different. It's a possibility in Skyrim, as they said they are prefering to do large expanions rather than the smaller DLCs from fallout.

My boxed copy of "Knights of the Nine" with all the DLC released for Oblivion that is currently sitting on a shelf(and I'm staring at right now) would beg to differ ^^

Xbox Live Silver is free you get it by just having access to the internet, really all Xbox live gold gives you is Playing games online and joining parties.

With Xbox live Silver you have access to the market place... unless you have an old Xbox the Wireless adapter is built in. you can use this to get the DLC

At some point, the game developer has to stop catering to everyone. If you don't have an Internet connection available, and yet you play Skyrim . . .something is very wrong. What are you doing without Internet, but WITH a "modern" game console or PC? Doesn't make much sense, and I don't see a reason for gamesas to waste money producing, distributing, and buying shelf space for CDs. If you have limited bandwidth, sorry, your area needs more competition/development/population. DL it over multiple days.

yep I have gone to some stores trying to get oblivion goty and fallout goty, I ask for it and they say no but we have the game and the dlc's and show me the disk's now for fallout they had every two dlc's a disk and oblivion in one disk, since it is going to be a big expansion type dlc like oblivion i think a single disk will work

so you bought horse armor alone at a store?

No it was bundled with SI and Ko9 it was available prior to these. As this was a small DLC content that is not large enough to even consider selling a retail version alone. But as I said that the possibly or possibly not that small things that are avalible to the game will be sold with larger content updates not alone.

It didn't appear that way, it sounded like you were saying those dlc's came separately. Again i apologize for the mistake on my part.

Though personally i would rather buy the complete package, even if I have to trade the game in for something else.

I dont like were gaming is going. More and more games require internet to play. Even Skyrim does, despite being SP only. Its important to remember that not everyone own a internet connection.
